I found my car of choice while renting cars for road trips (owned a much loved 03 Maxima) after I wrecked my car and bought several cars (with cash) that wouldn't do. Finally decided to get a car payment (ugh) and bought the cute note. Bought it 3 years old with 22k miles and have no regrets. It's not a race car folks, and I do just fine on the highway and back roads. Love the zippy handling and i thinks it's a fun little car to drive. Definitely not the Maxima but it's not a big car or a sports car. I plan on driving it to the grave (I'm 60).

Great car no bells and whistles that break.

To start this review off, I have the base model. Roll up windows, and no technology sensors. This means nothing breaks down. Got about 110,000 miles and got this car 3 years ago for 7,000 and now in 2021 its 8,000 to get one. I was thinking about getting rid of this for a Honda civic, with sensors and bells and whistles. Then I read the reviews about how all the new tech heavy cars break down and I am keeping this baby. No it does not have fast pickup speed. No it does not have seats meant for long drives. Yes the interior is basic looking and cheap black plastic. No it does not have fast pickup speed. No it does not have good safety ratings. What it does have. Average MPG 36 miles to the gallon. No major problems with added technology. Since it has none to speak off.

I own a 2015 Versa Note and I’ve had nothing but trouble with this car. The battery died at 40k miles, I have to replace all the suspension bushings at 60k. The suspension on the vehicle is very stiff. The amount of horsepower/torque is the equivalent of a 80’s Honda CRX, but in a car twice it’s size and almost thirty years newer. It drops in speed with the pedal to the floor up a slight incline.

If you have any possibility of driving this on an interstate don't buy it. The cvt transmission along with its under powered motor is death on wheels. With one passenger I took this as a rental for a week in Denver and almost got rear ended and driven off the road by a semi. It simply does not have enough power to accelerate out of dangerous situations.

transmission went out at 80000 miles and after that things starts to die, the engines are hard to work on yourself to where you have to take in to the mechanic instead of being able to fix a quick simple thing yourself. In 2018 i spent over $6,000 to fix my car, the car is only worth 13,000

No malfunction lights...but cannot pass emission

I have just returned from the Nissan Dealership to diagnose a failed emissions. My o2 sensor is not reading as ready and there is not apparent reason for this. The process to get it review/repaired and passed is beginning to not be worth the cost. I love this car, but I was advised that this model has some insane drive cycle requirements. Getting it passed and THEN getting it registered is beginning to not be worth the value of the vehicle. It was good for the short while I had the vehicle.

I've had this car for 5 years. Had to already get a new transmission 2 years ago, had so much maintenance and repairs worked on it, to where it added up to 7,000$ more than it was worth just on repairs within 5 years of owning it. Luckily the Transmission was under warranty. Good starter car though, Slow and hesitant acceleration, especially on the high way.

Pros: good gas mileage, easy to find parking spaces to fit into, reliable. reasonable cargo space with rears seats down. Cons: noisy cabin and you feel all the bumps in the road. small cargo space with the rear seats up. stock audo speakers not very good. between car noise and bad speakers, have to turn the radio up really loud. can't hear people talking the the back very well.

It's been 3 years now. I have no complaints. All I do is routine maintenance by the dealer. I realize using premium fuel solves the complaint of the Versa Note not having enough freeway pep for passing or pulling out. I researched whether it had a timing belt or chain. It has a chain. Since I'm over sixty I thought twice about buying a stick shift (always my preference) but you never know when I'll have an injury. With the CVT I need only 1 foot to drive. The space is generous, the gas mileage is impressive (Avg 33 combined city/hwy). I am happy with my purchase (Certified Pre-Owned). I love the back-lit controls and the logical location of the controls. The one little thing I do miss is the access handle above the drivers door. It's my mini-SUV. I would recommend it to anyone.

Nissan Versa note 2015 CTV transmission

If I could rate it 00000 starts I would ,worse car I have ever had from day one when I pulled it from showroom brand new. The airbag signs turned on, The transmission broke @62 k,they put another transmission saying it’s new come to know it was refurbished and broke down @74 k(didn’t even get to point of changing transmission oil) Now the dealership wants to charge $5000 for another refurbished transmission,I should have gone with Ford I would have been better off ,which I never liked . Rip offs won’t even acknowledge that there transmission sucks can’t even last 75k

I have a Nissan Versa Note as a rental car until my auto is repaired. Coming from a SUV to this is an eye opener. This red Versa Note is cute. The engine is pretty peppy, with one person in the car. The radio is fine as is the A/C. The drivers seat is also comfortable. I don't feel safe in this car. It's very small and has a very thin structure. Backing up is especially difficult. I'm use to a backup camera , but the versa is difficult to gage what's in back or the rear sides of you. Did I mention it has roll up windows. Makes me laugh. Haven't seen roll up windows for over forty years. The windows don't concern me either. This is a case of spending a little more money for a Safer car.

Good little car with some big flaws!

The versa note I had was a good little car. However, it had some very obnoxious flaws that made me just not enjoy driving it. Being that it is one of nissans cheapest cars, (although with all of the features I had, I could have bought an altima...) it is made of very cheap materials. After just a year of having the car, any bump and you would hear all the plastics on the interior rattle and shake. It got to the point where the whole car felt like it was shaking apart. Another issue I had with it is, whenever it would rain outside, the back windows would steam up, and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I could run the A/C, which would tank the gas mileage and what little power the car had. Or I would just lose all visibility out of the car. While the car got ok mileage (do not believe what the cars computer tells you, it is usually about 6 mpg less then what it shows), it just had no power, so if you had to go up hills you would lose all your mileage.

This a great car that doesn't cost much. When I was looking for an inexpensive car payment this little car did the trick. It looks really small but the inside is really roomy and the backseat can fit an adult over 6ft tall very comfortably. The cargo area is great and with the seats down you can really haul things in this hatchback including furniture! Visibility is great with the large windshield and back window. NO complaints other than its fairly basic inside but it sure does the trick for an inexpensive vehicle. When i first test drove it I thought this is a fun little car!

Gas mileage hwy 39. Around town 30. No major repair in 7 years. Driver seat cramped but other seating is very good. Back is very comfortable, easy in-out. Most cost-effective car I ever owned. Reliable transportation without bells and whistles. The downside; noisy engine and cheap plastic interior. It doesn't handle as well as my Caddy but it didn't cost as much, either.

I bought my 2015 Versa Note as Certified Pre Owned in 2017. In those 8 years, apart from routine maintenance all I replaced were the sway bars and control arms in the front suspension. Part of maintenance includes CVT fluid changed every 30K miles. My best mpg was 43 and 30 is avg (city & highway). I don't really need a truck for hauling but it's sure nice to have the cavernous hatch when I need it. I'm approaching 90,000 miles having bought it with 30,000 miles.
