Used 2014 Nissan Versa Note 1.6 SV 4dr Hatchback (1.6L 4cyl CVT) Consumer Reviews
Love my Nissan Versa Note!
We bought my little Versa Note; so I could travel 42 miles a day to feed my little mustang horse. So we bought it for fuel economy. I didn't want to put miles on my 2003 Mustang GT. My little horse passed away. So now I still drive my little Versa.I hit a deer on the the highway going 65 miles per hour.I can honestly say I was so impressed with how the car did when I slammed on my brakes. It stayed straight as an arrow on the road. The deer survived; I had to replace The left fender and head lamp and the wrap on front fender. I was more worried about the semi that was behind me. It is 2019 and I love my Nissan still. It parallel brakes so easy, I am a senior citizen with limitations; getting in and out is so easy.Getting in and out of parking spots is a breeze. I can honestly say; I adore my Versa Note and I love the service Dept. at my local dealership. This car holds a lot of groceries; and all my potting soil.Again May be an economy car; I love it! I have had no problems.:-)

Blue Skies
So far - less than a month out -- it's a great little car! Comfortable, easy to maneuver and 'peppy.' Also feels substantial -- not like a kiddie car. The color is awesome; I've never gotten to many compliments about a car color -- people smile when they see it ... and so do I.

Nissan Versa Note 2014 SV Transmission Problems
Our CVT transmission just completely failed in a 2014 Versa Note SV with 103,000. I bought this new car and decided to buy it with zero miles because it was a great car. Bad move. The transmission began to slide, breaking and stopping the car. He towed it to the distributor. He said the cost would be $ 6000 to replace the entire transmission. I called Nissan Corporate but they did not help me. They said it's out of warranty. and this fault had been presented since before 60000 miles but they never wanted to recognize that the transmission presented problems and always left with what was another fault until now it is out of warranty they say it is the transmission, they did not even offer to pay 50% I have seen many problems with the CVT transmission. Something needs to be done. This is not quality and Nissan has to guarantee its cars up to 150000 miles. I will NEVER buy a Nissan vehicle., the quality of nissan is going down and it is the worst agency not worth the price for what they sell.

Great economic car… until the transmission dies
I owned this car from OCT 2018 at 40k miles - NOV 2023 at 111k miles. My personal score was a 4/5… It was a great car that served me well. I had the SL trim which included a few luxuries such as heated seats, nicer wheels, XM radio and a spoiler. The car had plenty of room and the hatchback added versatility to the car. I was able to add a hitch rack and haul my bikes as well. Great gas mileage and relatively cheap to maintain for normal maintenance items. Definitely lacked power, but most people who buy this car know that up front- once you get up to 60-70mph drives fine for long roadtrips on the highway. HOWEVER- like most Nissan CVTs my Versa Notes transmission began failing significantly at 84k miles. I was fortunate enough to have mine replaced under warranty (I barely made the cutoff for the extended warranty period), but I know a lot of people who had the same issue and couldn’t get it fixed under warranty- and it’s a $5k-$6k cost to replace. Had Nissan made a pledge to fix ALL their faulty CVTs I would easily give this car 4 stars. CVT aside- the only other significant issue I had with this car is with the front suspension. The car unfortunately was totaled in a 35mph collision when another vehicle pulled out in front of me blindly to make a left turn. The front end was completely destroyed, but the car kept me and my passenger safe. I am a little sad to see it go. My biggest piece of advice to anybody looking at buying this car used is to factor the cost of replacing the transmission… it will more than likely go out at some point (sooner than most vehicles).

Fragile Car
Bought the car used in 2015. Within the first year the car started making a crunching/grinding noise; turns out the wheel bearings needed to be replaced. Since then the car cut off and now doesnt start. Repairman says its either the fuel pump or alternator. The transmission sucks; has no acceleration and barely makes it up hills. Delayed reaction when when stepping on the gas.
