My Sweeeet Baby!
A true dream to drive...almost drives itself-->responsive, sure handling, gobbles up bumps on the road. Never a problem..easily the best automobile I've ever owned!
Not the Best Car in the World
This '01 GXE was my first new car. Problem is, now I'm having lots of little problems w/it. First off, the rear shocks bottom out over speed bumps. I took it in under warrenty and they played stupid like nothing was wrong. Then the CD player quit working. It just gives me an error msg. The steering wheel radio controls only work when it's hot outside.
FANTASTIC AUTOMOBILE!!!
Bought my GLE in July,'03 with 69,000 miles on it from a Houston dealer for $11,450. No oil used between changes. Lots of adjustments for seats, great lumbar support, like sitting in a fine chair in your home. Bose stereo is just incredible. Gas mileage: 23-27 mpg mostly city, but engine is so responsive it is hard to lay off of it. VERY comfortable and smooth ride with GLE suspension. Good legroom in rear with cupholders all over. Stereo controls on steering wheel a great convenience/safety feature. Auto trans is smooth as can be, no comparison to American cars like my brother's Buick LeSabre and Chrysler 300M. Great car!
The worst automobile on the market
You better believe this 2001 SE nissan Maxima is no Acura 3.2 TL. There absolutely no comparison. I purchased my wife a 2000 Acura 3.2 TL and purchased a 2001 Nissan SE maxima for myself. If she would, I would gladly trade the maxima for the Acura. The maxima has been nothing but a source of problems. Tire replacement ever 30,000 MI. at a cost of $1000.00. Brakes and rotors replaced at ever 15,000 MI at a cost of 400.00 per wheel set. Wheel bearing failed under 73,000 MI at a cost of approx $400.00 to replace. The company was contacted and didn't stand benind the automobile. This is a bad vehicle and Nissan will not stand behind it.
Nissan in the shop
We have had our Maxima Se since 10/01. It has approximately 18k miles. At 12k miles, we found a crack in the rear spoiler. Nissan would not fix it. It was only covered up to 12k miles. Just this week-09/08/03-the car died and would not start. It had to be towed to the dealer for repair. They still do know what is wrong with it!
