Used 2010 Nissan Altima Consumer Reviews
Great car!
I bought a used 2010 altima 4-door with the 4-cylinder CVT with 100k miles on it. The front seats are very comfortable and the visibility is excellent. The fabric is very nice and has held up well. The driving position is perfect and I really like the power seats. It's so easy to find a comfortable position. Mine has the Bose sound system which is very good. It has XM radio and you can connect your ipod and the songs will show up on the display. The backup camara is a very useful option. It's great for parking or backing up. I really like the interior of the car. It's simple yet stylish. The engine is a little loud when you start it cold. It sounds a little gruff but it runs great and the CVT works excellent. The car could be a little quieter and I'm sure the new ones are. The gas mileage is very commendable (around 26 mpg) and it has a very large gas tank. You can easily go 400 miles between fill ups. I checked out camry, 6, sonata, accord, passat, and malibu. None of them are as comfortable or have as good of visibility and driving position as the altima.

Comfy College Car
I have owned my 2010 Nissan Altima for the past year. Has 167k on it, and it runs really well. Drive it 1,000 miles to college and back. Mine has the Bose/SiriusXM package, a backup camera, integrated phone, sunroof, dual climate control which is crazy for being 11 years old on a economy car. The car is fantastic on gas. On a full tank, it gets around 350 to 400 miles. Yes the CVT transmissions can be worrisome at first, and they are not the fastest at acceleration, but they do save a ton of money at the pumps. The CVT’s are loud when they hover around 1000-2500 rpm. The only issues I have with this car is the front suspension can make it a little rougher ride while going over bumps and that it could be a little quieter. I think the newer ones have been more refined. But all in all, this is probably the nicest car I could’ve asked for with all the “new car” amenities for being 11 years old. I was told that this car can last to 200 or to 250,000 miles, just gotta take care of it. So if you find one for sale, take it for a test drive, it might be worth it. Update!!! Car now has over 180k and still drives 1,000 miles across the country to school with ease. Still getting fantastic gas mileage for its age. Muffler is rusted out on the flex pipe so it runs a little loud. No major issues, this car has gotten me safely to and from college and hope to keep a few more years. Since cars are extremely expensive, the Altima has stayed relatively cheap to purchase if you are looking for a car.

200k
Bought this car brand new in 2010. The only thing we've had done are regular oil changes and changed the tranny fluid at 120k. Other than that, it has never been in the shop. The car has far exceeded our expectations!

So far so good
I purchased my 2010 in 2012 from the original owner, who took very good care of the car. At the time, the car had about 24000 miles. Today, she is sitting at 117000 and still looks and runs great. I come from driving Honda's for 20+ years so reliability is important to me. This comes with proper maintenance. My oil changes are always Mobil 1 synthetic, with a premium filter (Mobil 1, wix, k&n). I do these every 7000 miles. With the horror stories about the CVT, I have made sure to exchange the fluid at the dealership, every 60000 miles. These are done at the dealership because they do a full exchange of the correct fluid (about 12 quarts). Not a drain and fill (less than 4 quarts) It's expensive (more than $300) but a small price to pay instead of having problems. I believe that the main reason for premature failure is from lack of fluid exchange and heat. They nown install transmission coolers to keep the heat down. I live in Michigan so our temperatures dont run too hot. I think it's more of an issue in southern states. I was concerned about premature failure for years but decided to rest my mind, and roll with it. I will continue to maintain and hope that I can get 4 + more years out of the car, since I have alot of family expenses for these next few years. The car has been mostly reliable. Just general maintenance (brakes, oil, fluids). We will see what happens as we push towards the 200000 mark.
Amazing car. going to miss it.
I had the Altima Coupe for almost two and a half years and i loved every minute of it. Everything about it was perfect and i did not have a SINGLE problem with it. Also, it saved my life. A couple weeks ago, i got into a pretty horrific accident where a driver in a Ford F150 plowed into me going 55 mph+. Needless to say, the car is totaled. But the important thing is that I was able to walk away from the accident and go home that night. If anyone is worried that this car isn't safe because its small they shouldn't be. i am a perfect example of how safe this car is.
