This car has been a constant trip to the mechanic. 2016 outlander bought brand new. have replaced the back brakes calipers and rotors every year for the last 3 years and the front brakes twice. Of course we were 2000 km over the warranty and now 6000 over. The exhaust system needs to be replaced the wheel bearing was replaces twice because of a sensor issue. Now our airbag sensor is gone and even the windshield washer reservoir needs to be replaced. 166,000 km. on it and its impossible to keep ahead of all the repairs. Their service department charges 139.00 just to confirm whats wrong even if i already know. Definately never buy another one

Two days, nearly 1000 miles...

After driving nearly 1000 miles through heat, rain, night and day the best thing I can say is "It got us home". There were many minor but glaring faults that make me question how much road testing was done for this vehicle. Climate control was abysmal with no consistency in air temperature. It fluctuated from frigid to steamy humid constantly. Road noise was pronounced and overpowering, making long trips even more exhausting. They obviously never tested fitting a child seat in the rear because the latch clips were way too close together to get a solid mount. Cargo space was pathetic for the size of the vehicle. I fit more luggage in my Mazda 6 and nothing blocked the back window. The kids were much more crammed in this thing than in the Mazda 6 as well. You can't change the volume on the radio without brushing the touch screen and jacking up the settings. There is no auxiliary input and pairing with Bluetooth was a royal pain. The gas tank is tiny, restricting you to a maximum of 350-400 miles in perfect highway conditions. I'm glad I got to turn it in, good riddance.
