Used 1999 Mitsubishi Montero Sport Consumer Reviews
Green Machine
The car that I'm currently driving has 156k+. Been passed down through the family since we purchased it new, in 99. It has taken a beating, but still drives pretty good. My opinion it's a well worth it care and a good buy. The car is considered a legend in my book.
What a truck!
I have owned since new. Could never ask for a more dependable truck. Not one problem in 4 years. I have heard the Sports last well beyond 125,000 miles +. Comfortable, good gas mileage, pulls my bass boat with ease. I have no idea what these other people that have posts on this site are driving. Would recommend this truck to anyone I know and love!
can't wait to buy another
This is the first Mitsubishi I've owned, and not one regret. I don't ususally keep a car for more than 2 years but I have no plans to get rid of this one any time soon. I love everything about it. There isn't anything on it that I wish were different and I haven't had any reason to take it to a mechanic.
Comfortable but costly
Great ride on the highway. Excellent leg room in backseat compared to similar size SUVs. Front seats comfortable after hours of driving. Had to replace two broken leaf springs. Radio antenna is broken. Whistling sound at highway speeds. Rear door latch works poorly.
3rd Montero
This is my 3rd Montero - 1st Sport. Love the exterior looks, especially when first intro'd. All Montero's have been mechanically sound and virtually trouble free. Only issues came when we replaced my wife's Acura with a Landcruiser. I realize I can't compare the two, but man what a difference. The Montero feels like a sportscar handling-wise, but several aspects, the lack of power mostly, have been highlighted. Still think it's a good car for the money, but the Landcruiser has me spoiled.
