Used 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Consumer Reviews
Best Rig our family has had
We bought our 2015 Freightliner Sprinter passenger van back in 2017 “used”, it sat unused in a warehouse for 2 years, still had plastic on the seats and the Marony sticker for $55,000 on the window. We have the 6 cylinder diesel, 144” with the highroof option. Ours is rear wheel drive, not the 4x4. Our family has a small side business, that has us dropping off a load of heavy boxes every month or two. This truck handles everything we throw at it and delivers amazing performance at near 20 mpg, or averaging an amazing 25 mpg on our last 3,000 mile road trip. It’s amazing that it carries my family and our boxes without compromising fuel mileage and still handles so well. Before I drove the Sprinter, Highroof Van I was afraid it was going to be tippy on the corners and horrible in the wind, after 100,000 miles of enjoyable driving I can say this rig handles better than anything in its class, even better than the SUV’s we’ve had. The side winds are handled w/ some amazing technology that kicks on when it’s needed to keep you in your lane, although it hasn’t kicked on more than 2 times in the last 100,000 miles. The cornering is also superb, Mercedes put their best steering in this rig. The van doesn’t feel tippy in the least and likely because it’s center of gravity is lower than it appears. There is also some great technology to help keep you right side up and very nimble. The seating position is superior to the Transit, which has you sitting lower, without the commanding view of the Sprinter. Our rig comes with the V6 diesel, which has 14 quarts of synthetic oil, requiring a 20,000 mile service interval. We found a mechanic in our area that services Sprinter delivery trucks, they do are far less expansive than the dealership. Some people have bad experiences with their Sprinters. These diesel rigs, as it explains in the owner’s manual are not meant to be driven solely as city rigs, it says no more than 300 continual (low speed) city miles, or it may in fact destroy the engine, also no long time idling. Some city miles are okay, as I drive my kid to school in it, travel to the store, but faster, longer periods of highway miles are periodically needed for the emissions to work correctly on these new diesels. My 2015 Volkswagen TDi has the same need. We had the emissions system updated for free, under the service bulletin, at no cost, about 6 months ago. This also extends the warranty period on many of the most costly parts. The rear seats are heavy and not the most consumer friendly to remove, but after practice I’ve learned how to remove any rear seat by myself, using an extended engine lift & alittle technique. The rear most seats also need a claw hammer to release the seats from the floor, see YouTube. It takes my just a few minutes to remove a couple seats. Our biggest, most annoying issue has been with the Bluetooth sometimes not working, outside of that we’ve been very fortunate to not have anything serious issues thus far. Assuming you have good techs, if you treat your Sprinter well, it will treat you well in return. So far, after 6 years and 100,000 miles we enjoy our Sprinter and we look forward to many more long road trips.

complete electrical power loss
After buying this vehicle new off the dealer lot. after only 6 days on the road I experianced a complete power loss to the vechicle. was 200 mi from home. roadside assistance took 4hrs to approve me for 100% $$ towing back to my dealeer in Reading PA. They had the vehicle all day and still could not find the source of the problem..If they can not find the source of the problem do they expect me to take back the vehicle and wonder when and where it will happen again!..I think not. Will update as soon as I find out ..
