Bought my E450 coupé February of this year. It’s a car with many functions. It’s a two door with a functional back seat (I’m 6’4” and I have driven with my 6’1” friend sitting in back seat behind me so that was an unexpected bonus. Those saying that buying a car at this price point that’s not a V8 may have to actually drive the car more than 15 minutes. This car has an awesome burst at the sports mode and sports plus gives you instant response with the 2019 have 50 more horsepower than the E400 from just last year and even more if you go the AMG route.

Bought my 19 E450 coupe 6 months ago, currently running at approx. 6800 miles in total. I have owned many models including 11 E60 M5, 13 A7, 14 550i and 16 RR sport. So far I am happy with the car. I would say this car’s overall interior quality def is better than BMW’s and Audi’s, and a little bit below RR sport. I feel the interior of the backseat rows could’ve been better by simply match what we have in the front row. In terms of sportiness, when the Sport+ mode is on, this car is absolutely a beast although number-wise (hp and torque) it’s way smaller than the 11 E60 M5 and the 14 550i that I owned in the past. The sport+ mode is a little bit frightening in a sense that sometimes I literally have a feeling that I cannot handle the power (maybe bc I’m way older now). An extra bonus is that, this car actually is the only car I have owned with a mpg matching the EPA estimates. So far I’m sitting at 23 mpg overall (6800 miles). So if you commute a lot on a daily basis, this car will cost you a lot less in gas while it is also capable of delivering excitement in driving. 3 options I highly recommend to get: driver’s assist pkg, bremester audio and head-up display. Firstly, I gained hand-on test experience with the “driving assist pkg” of MB, BMW and Audi (all post 2019 models), when I was shopping for a car. MB’s driving assist pkg is the only one that actually gives the autonomous driving experience, for a long distance commuter like me, it really helps after exhausting workdays. Secondly, Bremester Audio system is the best audio system I have experienced so far (excluding my rich cousin’s Aston Martin audio). It really adds on some luxury experience. Thirdly, HUD is something I did not notice how convenient until I have it. I rarely look down and check out my cluster and I seriously had trouble reading it when I switched car with my partner for a week. Lastly, DO NOT WASTE your money on park assist pkg... I actually actively looked for it, but so far I probably have not used it for more than 5 times. Lastly, the car has been very reliable, not a single glitch at all... although we all expect that from a brand new car. But sometimes it’s not granted, my partner bought a brand new 19 Q8 around the same time. As a matter of fact, she gets all these false alarms in tires and air suspension. I really would not regret that I did not buy an A7 when I was shopping.

I've owned many Mercedes Benz vehicles because they are solidly built, dependable and possess the latest safety and technology features. My lease was up on my 2018 S450 so I decided on the E450 4MATIC Sedan. I picked it up on May 4th, 2020. What a car! The first noticeable attribute was the razor sharp cornering and handling with unbelievable acceleration and power. The responsiveness of the car to driver input is phenomenal. My car is fully loaded with Driver's Assistance, Exterior Lighting, Parking Assistance, AMG, Premium, Panorama Roof, 19" AMG Wheels/Tires Packages. Impressive array of technology coupled with a smart phone app that provides huge amounts of data about the vehicle (Mercedes Me Connect). I love this car! Seats are comfortable and visibility outstanding. It is quieter than one would think for a 362 hp twin turbo V6 engine and performance all season run flat tires. Audio system is terrific with HD AM/FM tuning as well as Apple Car Play for hands-free control over music. The styling is more like a baby S Class Sedan with LED front and rear lights. I recommend a test drive in an E350 and then an E450 to truly appreciate the superiority of the E450 4MATIC (AWD). This is truly a vehicle made for a driver who appreciates a car that fits like a glove. I have owned this car for 7 months now and have 3900 miles on the odometer. I have not had to bring the car in to the service department in all these months except to change windshield wipers that tend to “chatter” in heavy, consistent rain. The problem remains to be a nuisance to me, but there are no satisfactory solutions to this problem after many visits to service to alleviate this annoying anomaly. The vehicle remains to be the best handling and most powerful car I have ever owned. The technology and safety features have kept me out of potentially dangerous situations such as backing out of a parking space and having the car brake automatically when an oncoming car or pedestrian approaches from the left or right rear of the car. The blind spot monitors have worked impeccably when on the interstate or on local highways. The advanced technology requires a tremendous learning curve to master (about 2-3 weeks) due to the various settings and adjustments, however well worth the time and patience as the results are amazing. The maneuverability of the car is truly awesome - it quickly responds to driver input and manages its way beautifully in heavy traffic. Acceleration is outstanding with the bi-turbo 362 hp V6 engine. Accessing the many technical and audio features via the controller or voice activation is well appreciated as is the advanced GPS system. In summary, I continue to enjoy this vehicle immensely.

Pluses: Beautiful design, interior and exterior. Can be driven fast, slow, in comfort mode or in sport mode, and handles very well. Very quiet and comfortable ride. Minuses: The navigation system is a little clunky to use and the traffic heat map colors are difficult to see (highlight color streaks are not very wide and also pale), although the screen quality is excellent with great resolution. I was a little disappointed in the lack of leg room in the back when the front seats are pushed back. I am 6'3" or 193 cm tall and there is not much room left in the back when I push back. My wife just bought a new Subaru Ascent SUV and there is a lot of space in the second row. Obviously they are different vehicles, but a luxury sedan like the E300 should have more space in my book. Concerning repairs and service, my brand new car died the 3rd day I had it - it had a major electronic freak out and had to be towed. According to the dealer the on/off switch for the car (a so-called gateway switch) was faulty and after a few days of inquiry they told me that the part was not available stateside with delivery time unknown? Independent from the dealer, I was asked to fill outa survey by Mercedes USA and unloaded a little in the comment section that this lack of supply chain I would expect from Hyundai or Ford, but Mercedes - really. Got a call 1/2 day later and suddenly the part was located and traded with another dealer, funny how that goes. In the end, it took 2 weeks to get the car back on the road. Finally, the car has developed a persistent creaking and rattle in the front. The seat adjustment switches in the door rattle incessantly and the creak started 3 months after purchase. Am not very happy about that I must say, especially as the Subaru is quiet as can be. Update on the rattles - it's been in the shop 4 times now to ID and repair the rattle, but not much luck. The tech actually told me that the loudspeakers tend to have a rattle problem all the time - metal on wood with no rubber gasket in between - HELLO? If it continues, I may get rid of the car and try the Genesis. Who wants to sit in a 'luxury' car and listen to rattling. Final Update: The driver seat also squeaks, but I just don't move around too much, so it's manageable. The driver side mirrors needed to be replaced twice after they suddenly started creaking with opening/closing. Finally, the main starter button now generally works on the first try, but again randomly graces me, its owner, with starting the car only after the third try - go figure? Otherwise, the car drives really well, has great acceleration, is comfortable, although partial leather seats would be nice, given the price of the car. It is exceedingly quiet inside, has an exquisite sound system, and has decent space in the back. I get about 29-34 mpg during a 45 min highway commute. Overall, it's a decent car, but in my book a little too expensive, given its quirky reliability.

My 2019 E450 wagon is without question the best car I've ever owned--taking into account S550 MB, E500 MB, Porsche 911, BMW 540I, an E350 MB wagon, and several others. The car is aesthetically beautiful, is extremely fun to drive with tight sporty handling and a great 3 liter twin turbo engine and 9 speed transmission that winds up and delivers lots of power whenever you want it--all with a great engine sound, and with really great fit and finish and build quality- the interior is very attractive and sporty with beautiful leather and wood and not a piece of that hard plastic material that ends up rattling especially on cold days anywhere. The interior is also very comfortable, very well designed with amazing safety and entertainment technology as well as ambient lighting. This is all not to mention the astounding practicality--- 7 passengers and a huge payload capacity. This car is perfect for loading up with mountain bikes or mulch and is also an elegant way to drive to a formal affair. Perfect.
