acceptable-?
i have had the car for 9 months and now have 7000 miles. i really like the solid feeling that this mercedes provides but i have had it in the shop 4-5 times already for a vibration in the steering wheel at 36mph.the dealer exchanged the oem continentals for michelins and have rebalanced the wheels 3 times...still have the vibration. i also had a spring in the emergency replaced for being too loose and now 2 of my window sometimes loose their one touch feature.i still like driving this car but i am not sure if i will buy another... great design but i am not sure about the execution.
Bad wiring, poor service
In the 6 months I've owned my C-240 I've had 5 problems, all electrical (Elect. ignition switch, alarm, gas gauge, head lights & brake lights). Other than that it's a pretty good car: good mileage & handling. Interior design could be better: cup holders, location of switches and screen. However, the service I had from my dealership was poor, especially when after the first couple of problems I heard from the owner himself, "I don't know what to say. I don't know what to tell you. I don't kwow what I can do." You know what, that's not it. I may get another Mercedes in my future, but it won't be a C240 and it won't be from the same dealer.

My first Mercedes
Just got my C240 a few days ago and so far it's been a dream. I also looked at the Audi A4, the BMW 325i, and the Mercedes C320. Although you get more bang for your buck with the Audi (leather, better interior set up, more room in back passenger seats) I had my heart set on a Mercedes. I like the way this car handles and looks but feel like I should have gotten more for the money. I'm not dissapointed but for 33K - give me leather interior and a CD player standard, ya know what I mean?
.............
I love this car & it handles very well. The CD disc changer in the glove compartment is nice. I also like the 1 touch feature. Although I've had a lot of small things go wrong. They aren't major, just in inconvience to take it to the dealer.
first MB
worth the money for an entry level MB. Driven 8,500 mi. w/ no problems. classic MB style. exhibits the attention to detail you expect from MB. very good performance if you understand you're buying small 4d sedan for status. this is not a sports car, so don't expect that kind of performance.
