Should've, Could've...
Bought it in August, and it's been back in the shop 3 times. It was delivered with wheels off balance. Rear sunshade doesn't retract on every try. Auto lose sunroof doesn't always work. This car has rattles coming from the center dash, trunk area, driver and passenger side roof lining. Dealer can't find the rattles. The visor mirror cover is made of cheap plastic. The steering is WAY TOO sensitive off center at freeway speeds, way to heavy at parking lot speeds. This thing will not track straight on the freeway. The doors don't close with the MBZ thump. The transmission lingers in the lower 3 gears. This is not a good deal.
Don't Do It!
I bought my 2002 MB C240 19 months ago and it has been in the shop over 20 times. This car has had every electrical function replaced, many times more than once, and we're still counting. MB has stated that as long as there is a cure for the problem, I have to deal with bringing it to the shop all of the time. If you value your time, don't buy this car!!!

STAY AWAY (REALLY)
I've never been more disappointed in the quality and value of a vehicle. Initial purchase was used from a dealer. Vehicle had 43K at the time. Replaced door handles that literally broke off inside door panel. Air conditioner had musty odor and has even after spending $400+ still has odor. Air ventilation baffle (determines vents to blow from) is broken and too expensive to repair. Failures at 63K miles: Ignition coil (3) $700+ Starter motor $600+ Transmission plug gasket $200+ Spark plugs $300+ Transmission mounts $200+ Motor mounts - not repaired yet Control arms - not repaired yet just spent $2100 this month and about $2000 more to go. STAY AWAY.
not all MB is made equal
The C240 is great car, however the vibration in the stering wheel a speeds of 33mph to 48mph is most disturbing and takes all the pleasure of out driving in town. The dealer and Mercedes Benz admits the problem however staes they have no solution. The poor service and client care is not a feature MB advertise. Schremp o mania is taking foor hold.
Not Happy
Drive train vibration comes & go's,dealer can't find problem, BAS,ESP light came on twice Dealer said it was The computer the first time, the second time they said it was dirty contacts.
