Really pleased with the Tribute
I really like the new Tribute, it is roomy and comfortable, it has a little wind noise but other than that it is wonderful
great little suv
this little suv, is just the right size. lots of power. engine even sounds and runs like my honda. driving the truck is like having it on rails, like a go cart. plus it looks a lot better then it's twin, the exscape. more rifine, and expensive looking. you can't beat it.

This is my 2nd mazda. I enjoy it and its been a very trustworthy vehicle for my family. It has more room than my husbands jeep cherokee. No problems so far
Objective Feedback . . .
After fact-finding and test-driving, I found the Tribute as my leader among strong contenders (Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, Mitsubishi Outlander, Jeep Liberty). The Tribute has great off- the-line power, a roomy interior, and great ground clearance. Lastly, the price point on the vehicle is very reasonable.
Great SUV
Downsized from a Durango. Tribute is much nicer ride and fun to drive. No problems and great value!
Love My Tribute
Bought my Mazda Tribute four months ago. It is a pleasure to drive. I had a larger SUV prior to this purchase but I am glad that I made the switch to the Mazda...gas consumption is much better (average 24 mpg) and I am thrilled with my vehicle.

The way I was able to just get into this vehicle and drive it was unexplainable. The smoothness of a car and the power of a truck.
My Mazda
I enjoy driving my vechile. It gives a great ride and is easy to manuever. The gas mileages is about 23 hwy which is what I am use to
Mazda tribute
We love our Tribute. We had a conversion van before it which wsa a lot bigger. It's fun to drive. Very sporty. Have seen quite a few on the road since we bought it. We didn't know Mazda made an SUV until someone suggested it. Drove to Florida this summer. Mileage was a lot better than the van.
Mazda Tribute
It has the luxury of a car but the toughness of a truck. The back seats give ample room for a adult to sit with lots of leg room. It also has a fast pickup, when taking off. It coasts decently to the next light or stop sign without the pedal on the floor. Now it is bumpier than a car. But I will always pick performance over the ride. We have not been limited with her. We have taken her fishing and have gotten her in some sandy spots and overall have been pleased. I notice I do get better gas milege if I don't always fill it up. Less weight I figure. Overall this has been my favorite car in the last 16 years.
Mazda Tribute
The Tribute is my 5th Mazda. I love it. It andles well, has great pick up, has a nice feel. The 6 way powered and seated heat is great. Very roomy inside. It is just as roomy as the 2000 Mazda Van I had with the ezception of the 5 seats. It truly does hold a 4X8 sheet of plywood with ease.
What A Great Ride and Performance!
I have only owned this car (truck) for a month and I just wished I had bought one sooner! I truly find this Mazda a Joy to drive! It handles great and has Power to keep up and run away from most cars! I love my Stereo with the 7 speakers and 6 CD player. If anyone knows about a Tribute car club in the New England area please drop me a line. Thank you and Happy Driving everyone!
Fun and Reliable
Well-built & fun to drive. Reliable and stylish. The 16 gallon tank makes you keep an eye on the fuel gage always on the look out for the next station. Dealer tag says 25mpg on the highway and I have only been able to get 22.5 mpg wiht highway driving. It is great for getting 3 little girls to school, and dance. I can get them in and out easily.
A GREAT DECISION! WOOHOO!
So glad I bought this Mazda Tribute! It has served me well and most of all is EASY to drive...what a joy. The mileage is fair/good, absolutely love the firm bucket seats that help with my back problem. Great cargo room, fold down seats rule! The stereo kicks...go for the updgraded stereo, its worth it! Great roadhandling features and in New England here the 4x4 is the smoothest I have ever experienced. Thanks for a great vehicle!
Its the best
I love my truck I love the way it drives !!!!! It's really comfortable lot of leg room.
Worth It
Have had the Tribute for one month - 1000 highway miles, 1000 local miles. Great Highway Mielage - local mielage is okay and is as advertised - its an SUV, remember? NO PROBLEMS! Love It! Compared it with Escape - seems to corner better, and handle better (dont know why). Being a Mazda, it should hold its value better than Escape. Buying experience was better than the Ford Dealership.
I love to zoom
I have to say this SUV is all that I wanted. It is so fun to drive and the V6 has the get up and go! I am glad I got the 2004 model because Mazda is changing the 4WD to all the time 4WD in 2005 and I did not want that. I want to be able to turn it on when I need it. I didn't think I could afford this SUV but I was wrong. The dealership I went to was so easy to work with. Go take a test drive yourself and zoom zoom!
I love it if only mileage was better!
It's a perfect car for me! I love its size, its performance, its comfort, its safety, it's handling, and its looks! It drives beautifully, and has been totally dependable for almost 3 years! What other cars can claim that?
Surprising 2004 Mazda Tribute LX-A
This SUV is just plain old fun to drive. The steering is extremely responsive with no "center dead space" to limit reaction time. Some people have complained about the wind noise at high speeds; I suggest you test drive some of the other makers of SUV's and you will change your mind. The Tribute is an overall success at a great price. Mine was less than $20,000.
Quality controls could be better
My car was delivered to me with a leaking windshield, anotherleak which soaked the carpet,a damaged headliner and the front end out of line. The dealer did all repairs to my satisfaction.Unfortunately,Mazda customer service didn't think this was anything to be concerned about.
Mazda Tribute ES-V6 4x4
Purchase my Mazda Tribute from a local Mazda dealer in the Mpls/St Paul area. Went to three different dealers, ended up going to back the 1st dealer. My Tribute is loaded, with leather, had 5000 miles on it demo. I have driven in the cities daily, and to the Black Hills. The SUV sticks to the road even the wind. Engine has pently of power for SUV. It is does not feel like a big SUV in tight parking lots, crusing around the cities. Seats are very comfortable, good viewing all around the SUV.
Love my new Tribute
We bought the Tribute as a second car to replace a 10 year old explorer. I mainly was looking for 4WD in a small SUV. I was close to buying an excape but the mazda warranty was much better so went with them. The car drives like a dream and my other car is an Acura TS type L. It sits high and is really fun to drive.
04 Tribute LX 4WD
Owned about 6 months now, no problems, peppy and fun, can fit everything I want into it. It rides better than most of the SUVs I tried, not trying to be a truck.
very happy with it
after looking for a small suv for a while coundnt belive the low price with all the options that came with it
Awesome!!!
Best vehicle I've ever owned! I traded in a Ford Escape. Ford will tell you it's the same vehicle...I beg to differ! The styling is better, as is the ride. Much less road noise with the Tribute. Great dealership as well.
Zoom Zoom
There are a lot of choices out there. After researching and driving, the Tribute takes the prize. This vehicle is fun to drive. It has great acceleration, brakes, handling, etc.... I do agree that the front seat should be more comfortable. It does have a lumbar adjustment which helps. The sound system is great. This thing is so much fun to drive I almost wish I bought a stick!
Drives well in the snow
Purchased the Tribute ES April 2003. It drove well in good weather as well as bad. Was able to motor about in the snow last week. Handled beautifully.
LUV this SUV
Love to drive this little beauty. Very comfortable downsize from my van. Sporty and good milage for engine size. Comfortable for two of the teens in our house but wouldn't want all three in the back at the same time. Great stereo upgrade package and cargo tray. Fun car.
mazda tribute es-rich
very please with car,fun to drive, great for all types of life.
A-
Great power. Good Looking. Reliable. Nice Size with lots of room.
Tribute Gold
I enjoy driving the 2004 Mazda Tribute Gold Addition. I average 238 miles to the gallon in city driving. The Tribute appears to have more interior room. With 5 boys and 3 over 6 feet tall we need all the room we can get.
you need to get one
This is my favorite vehicle that i have owned so far - it beats the mountineer that I just turned in.The ride is smooth, pickup for a 6cyclinder is great. All the features for the price, heated seats,sun/moon roof,cd changer, awd select on switch, cargo area that you dont have to stoop over to load, leather seats,on and on, this vehicle is wonderful.
My Mazda Tribute
I bought my car back in March and I have really loved it. It has seemed to be a very reliable car. The only problems I do have with it at this point is when I first go to start it (we don't have cold weather where I live), but it seems to almost want to die or not start. It turns over fine but at first it doesn't idle right. I've heard several complaints very similar to this one. At first, my battery light would almost always be on except for when I would drive a couple of hours out of town, but when I would get back in the battery light would be back on. This only lasted for a month.
Cutie Patootey
Bought it as a 2nd vehicle and am quite happy. Havent owned Japanese in some time and am glad I purchased it. It is cute and rides wonderful. Both peppy and sporty with wonderful gas mileage!!
I love my Tribute
I researched all compact SUV's before purchase. Decided that the true cost to own of this vehicle was better for my family. Drives nice, and I don't seem to have the wind problem other are having. I have the base model stereo, and would have rathered the upgrade. The DVD is a life saver for long trips. My daughter can't wait to go on a long trip so she can use it!
My report
We bought this SUV because my husband travels 100 miles daily to work. We needed a 4 wheel drive. I looked at many models, including those in a more costly catagory. This one fit it all: looks, reliability, price, mileage, comfort.
Best SUV in it's class
In comparing between Ford Excape and Mazda Tribute, the Mazda was a hands down choice for me. After 6 months I have no complaints. Too many bad comments from Escape owners for me to take the chance on a purchase of an Escape
Great vehicle!
Very roomy, great looking. Handles well on highway and in the city. Great vehicle for the money. This SUV drives more like a car. Smooth riding. Woule reccommend to anyone.
Great economical suv
Best price, good gas mileage for suv, very roomy and comfortable. already took trip this summer from Florida to Wyoming with 5 yr old granddaughter. Excellent vehivle for traveling.
2003 Tribute
I love my new Tribute! It handles beautifully, has plenty of interior room, and is almost as much fun to drive as my miata!
JimsTribute
Love the look and feel of this car. Handles great. Engine is responsive. Seats are a little hard for long drives, though. High-end sound package is well worth the extra $. Overall, great value in a small SUV. Pricing is right for this car.
excellent
excellent enjoyed the drive and the feel of the car and the quality this is the best car i ever purchase would not exchange this vehicle for no other I enjoyed the moonroof six cd exchanger tape player and the leg room is excellet
hot car
best car for the money
2004 tribute to tribute
Car is enjoyable to drive, very dependable, with average gas mileage. The V-6 has enough getup and go when needed9 (freeway onramps) and very good braking capabilities. clean ride, and easy to maintain. Parkings not a problem.
Zoom, Zoom, Zoom
I totally love my new Tribute. I decided to buy this car after shopping the Ford Escape which is virtually the same thing plus/minus a few make exclusive features. I came out of a VW Beetle into this so the size aspect was very different from what I was used to. I find that I have a great field of vision with my suv. I have driven it in snow, ice , rain, and dry weather. It was awesome in the 15 inch noreaster recently! All the creature comforts of my car are wonderful. I love the cargo capacities that it has to offer also.
I'm Happy
The ES-V6 is both quick and nimble. Smooth running engine; smooth shifting transmission. The ES model has plenty of doodads and gizmos for entertainment. The premium sound system sounds great and is easy to use. On the down side, there is a bit much road and/or drivetrain noise, and the front seats (or my butt) could use some extra padding.
Great SUV amongst crowded field
I've had the Tribute for six months and really enjoy it. It performed great in the MN winter weather, and offers a lot of amenities compared to other vehicles in it's class that I researched or have owned.
Mazda Tribute is Best compact SUV Value
The best way to show the value you get with the Mazda Tribute is to compare it to another. I bought the Tribute and a co-worker bought a Toyota RAV4 recently. We paid nearly the same for our vehicles. I got a powerful smooth V6, ABS, towing package, side air bags, flip up rear window, retractable cargo cover, overhead opening rear door, more room & comfort, & he got none of these.
Nicer than the rest
I've been looking for an suv for the past 3 months, and test drove the Toyota Highlander, Rav 4, Honda CRV, Jeep Liberty and went for a 2nd ride in the Mazda Tribute. By far, it has the smoothest ride, and more inside space.
Slick
I am very happy with this Tribute. I cant wait to drive it. I am more impressed each time I drive.
