This Car is a Rocket on Rails!
I needed a new family car (I have 3 teenage sons) and had a realistic budget to stick to. I had a deposit down on a Honda Si and had taken a new GTI for a spin. I saw a MazdaSpeed6, looked up the info. on the internet, took the car for a test drive - it was so quick that I scared myself and had to pull over to take a breather with a huge grin on my face. Tons of power, handles like it's glued, cruises great, interior is spot on, exterior is understated. I like that it is a sleeper. I drive spirited - can't wait for my next errand. I have not seen even one other on the road since leased back in 8/06.
My Pseudo Maserati
Cannot believe the power. Is a real speedster, and surprises many beemers and mbz racers. Have only put 2000 miles on it so far, but some was trip to SF from the OC and got 26+ mpg at "somewhat" over the posted speed limit on the 5. Also, coming down Hiway 1 on return trip this thing drives like it is on rails. My wife is equally impressed, although she maintains that on the first ticket she will take away the keys. Love the shift pattern and feel of the clutch/shift engagment. Still takes some getting used to the start up from signals, but it is so much fun to drive like others I look for errands.

GOOD CAR
I bought this vehicle and to this day, I'm really impressed with it. I think that this car is well built for the amount that you pay. I drive a lot on the highway, and the pick up is really good.
Great Car
This is one of those cars where you might read a bad review from a magazine, but it's gonna be tough to fine a bad review from an owner. Owned mine for 2 1/2 years now, Black on Black leather. i am 26 years old and this is my 14th car. Without a doubt this is my favorite, and even at 2.5 years I am still not bored with it! Maybe i'm just growing up?? However, since all other 13 cars were also sports sedan/cars...maybe it's my experience telling me that I wont find anything better. Direct Injection is amazing. Hardly any turbo lag, violent mid-range power, and oh wait....27mpg on the highway and I even get close to 22 in mixed (heavy foot). I also love this car because it's rare.
An understated sleeper
To compare the MS6 to the EVO or STI is to miss the whole design philosophy in creating this car. Mazda designers clearly stated that the MS6 is not a competition of the above rally inspired track cars but rather against the more refined legacy GT and Acura TL. With this in mind this car can be judged on its merits. The MS6 is a near perfect balance of speed, civility and understated elegance.
