Love it, but it has issues

Well, after 16,000 miles I just got my car back from a few days in the shop. It had to have 3 recalls done on it (which I never got anything about recalls), and had to have the actuator replaced. It made this awful noise when you started the car after it had been sitting for a while. The look of the car is great! I love how it drives, but HATE the gas mileage especially only using premium gas!! We have not had issues with it at all till now, so overall for me it is a good car. I do dislike that the only cupholders in the back seat are in the fold down armrest in the middle, so if you have 3 people back there, there are no cupholders.

CX7 Zoom Zoom

I ride a sportbike, I like fun cars since they are a "bad" investment, and I usually buy US cars. Having said that, I love my CX7. It drives like a sports car and if you drive it like that then you will see poor gas mileage and accelerated tire wear. I get 19 mpg in town and until last night saw 21 mpg on the highway. Last night we went to purchase a used Mazda3 for my wife and I set the cruise at 65. With the tach at 2k rpm, I got 24.2 mpg! Very pleased. You need to keep under the power band of 2500 rpm or you will not get over 21 mpg, period. The factory tires are terrible in snow with the low aspect ratio profile. An upgrade to a better all season in the future. US guy converted to Zoom Zoom!

I leased the CX7 to get me and my surfboard to the beach on the weekends. It also does the Costco and Home Depot runs. Since the car was for utility only it is basically stripped. I added a Pioneer in-dash nav unit with an iPod connection to control it through the nav unit. Works great looks ok too. Since the car is stripped, it does not have the outside temp. Should be standard like other Ford products. The car is fun to drive compared with other SUVs. It feels very car like and sporty. Has decent speed but, if you push it hard, it will kill the gas mileage. I have about 12,000 miles and have had no issues with it. So far, it has only needed oil changes. Tires look like they will go to 25k

We have owned the CX-7 for about a year. I bought it for the wife as we needed a vehicle to haul the Grandkids around and our 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse was just not suited for passengers or carseats! The acceleration is stellar ans the handling is supreme! Yes, the gas mileage leaves something to be desired, but overall we are happy with the vehicle!

Check Engine Light Problem - NO FIX

AVOID THIS LEMON, 02/13/2009

I purchased this lemon a little over two years ago and don't drive it much. It only has 8500 miles and will be going into the shop for the FOURTH time for a check engine light problem that seems to be impossible to fix. If you enjoy visiting your dealership every 2000mi, this is the vehicle for you. Run, don't walk, away from your Mazda dealer.
