Poor in the elements
Purchased with 6400 miles, turbo model with all upgrades, interior should have full leather, road noise from tires is horrible, tires wear very prematurely, poor in snow, wind noise with 1 window open, dash is chintzy, front window needs tint, gas mileage is not as advertised, traction control is useless. Trade value poor also, this is my third Mazda, (my past Miata and Mazda 6 are much better cars).
I LOVE THIS SUV!
I bought the CX-7 in April and absolutely love it!! It is the perfect combination of a car and SUV. I was used to driving a two door Honda Civic and was able to change over to the CX-7 very easily. It drives just like a car but offers the comforts of an SUV such as the roomier interior and higher ride. I love it!!

Still Running Smooth
Has 14,000 miles in 8 months and nothing is wrong. The check engine light and tire monitor light are on and off and on and off again. No big deal and I'll get used to it. Can't complain for this price, new SUV and far more reliable than my ML430 that I sold for CX-7. Some of us hate the turbo lag but I don't feel much of it. If there's a 2 seconds lag, I don't give a hoot because I'm in no rush.
Our first Mazda
This car is gorgeous on the outside with the exception of the cheap plastic grille in front. The interior is well equipped but it is completely trimmed in plastic. Can definitely see where corners were cut to save money, like only having a map pocket on the back of the driver's seat. We love how easy the rear seats fold down. The stereo is strong for a stock system. Most importantly, this vehicle really gets up and goes. And as far as turbo lag goes, it is minimal at best. Any more power off the line and those expensive standard 18" tires would be smoked. One big negative, and probably only because we moved from an Acura TL into this vehicle, is the harsh and loud suspension.
Love it, but it has issues
Well, after 16,000 miles I just got my car back from a few days in the shop. It had to have 3 recalls done on it (which I never got anything about recalls), and had to have the actuator replaced. It made this awful noise when you started the car after it had been sitting for a while. The look of the car is great! I love how it drives, but HATE the gas mileage especially only using premium gas!! We have not had issues with it at all till now, so overall for me it is a good car. I do dislike that the only cupholders in the back seat are in the fold down armrest in the middle, so if you have 3 people back there, there are no cupholders.
