Thanks to Joel Montijo and Lee of Mazda City of Orange Park for their expertise and helping me narrow down the perfect car for me. Closing out the deal Joel again was very patient, knowledgeable, thorough, and took extra time when reviewing on delivery all the wonderful features the Mazda 6 has to offer. Don't forget your cargo mat for the trunk. Zoom-zoom!

They announce, right off the top, that the ONE feature I want most in a car will no longer be offered? The manual transmission is at the very core of the driving experience. More than anything else, it is what makes the driver one with that machine. If Mazda will no longer produce the ONE feature I want most, one that has been revered and beloved for more than 100 years, I am DONE with Mazda. I have driven a Mazda for 15 years, but this is, apparently, the end.

Excellent Purchase for a New Vehicle

This car at this trim level seems to balance everything well and meet all of my needs as a 23 year old graduate student with no family to haul around in it. The interior is incredibly sleek and the has been complemented by virtually everyone I've had sit in it—the exterior is much the same. I opted for the soul red exterior and black interior and I think they complement each other well. I live in Michigan where the summer can make the interior a bit warm in direct sunlight, so if you live in even warmer/sunnier areas I would suggest getting the sand interior color. I've had no problems getting through the snow in Michigan with the FWD. One of the reasons I picked Mazda was because of their good track record for reliability, and with no major internal changes for the 2019 model year I expect this car to last me a long time as do previous years. I test drove the Subaru Legacy along with the Mazda 6 when initially looking for cars and I'm very satisfied with my choice. The Legacy was the cheaper option, but with Subaru having similar brand reliability to Mazda and the Mazda 6 just looking better overall with a leather interior option at a lower price point than offered for the Legacy it seemed like a no brainer. Standing at 6'3" I've had no problems with head clearance or space for the driver or passenger seat, although the rear seats can be a bit cramped for leg room and head room especially for someone my size. Opting the touring tear level gives you 19" wheels with more clearance which I personally enjoy. The infotainment system can be a bit slow to start with the bluetooth on my phone connecting and beginning to play music much slower than when trying it on my brother's 2015 Chevrolet Impala and you can't use the touchscreen while the car is moving, but the knobs in the center console are easy enough to use. The glossy black plastic for the center console area and by the window controls does show fingerprints, hair, and dirt pretty well but I think these are minor issues. The addition of android auto, adaptive cruise control, and an extremely quiet cabin have made long drives so much more enjoyable than in my previous car, a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. The Mazda 6 also has very responsive handling and despite being a 2.5L 4cyl feels quick. Overall I'm very happy with this car with no major complaints.
