Gotta get in sync
Low rpms, expect sluggish response - if the car responds. The motor, the transmission, and the controllers don’t know how to handle low speed maneuvers. Expect hesitations and a rocking back and forth accelerate to hesitate as the computers try to figure out what to do. Very frustrating, especially if you are accustom to old-school direct connections where your foot is the only controller in the game. Highway, better, but best if you are a lead-foot. Otherwise be prepared to be really concerned about safety. Year and months now past since this review above. No change to the constant hesitations, no change to what Mazda regional engineering says about the sensors and performance. The car is just designed with this jerky hesitation at low speeds for the gain of mileage and higher speed performance. Very frustrating for anyone who likes low-speed handling. If you run about town in ‘sport’ mode, this improves the low speed performance at the cost of gasoline consumption. I am just not impressed by this car at all.

Sloppy hanging with a Turbo?!
Great looks inside and out but the MAZDA6 Turbo has lost its Zoom Zoom and traded it for a sloppy handling lead sled. Wish I had kept my 2016 GT w/ tech the package. MAZDA isn’t gonna stay in business if they loose the sporty ness and go luxury.

Absolutely astonished, but needs more power
I just bought a Touring trim Mazda 6 last weekend and, having it for a week, the car still astonishes me. The styling makes the vehicle stand out from those on the road, the premium interior makes it feel like it’s more expensive than what I paid for, and the technology that it’s packed with like blind spot monitoring, cross traffic, adaptive cruise, etc is a cherry on top. It’s ride is silky smooth and the engine seems to sip gas as I have not gotten any lower than 28mpg of combined city and highway driving. My only gripe is that with it being the touring trim, I wish it had more standard like a garage home link, auto dim mirrors, and heated mirrors. The engine could also do with a bit more power and it would have been nice if the 2.5l turbo was the base engine. I often enjoy myself in this vehicle in the back roads as its suspension setup and steering makes it highly responsive and fun to drive to the point that I feel like I’m driving a Miata instead of a sedan, but the engine being a bit underpowered can be a bit of a letdown. Still a wonderful car and maybe in some years I’ll trade for the top trim

Thanks to Joel Montijo and Lee of Mazda City of Orange Park for their expertise and helping me narrow down the perfect car for me. Closing out the deal Joel again was very patient, knowledgeable, thorough, and took extra time when reviewing on delivery all the wonderful features the Mazda 6 has to offer. Don't forget your cargo mat for the trunk. Zoom-zoom!
