At first we weren't sure about getting a 4 cylinder minivan, but we were pleasantly surprised by the power/performance of the 5. My wife wanted a six or seven passenger vehicle, that was not some behemoth SUV. This has everything she wanted, and more (incl. moonroof, 6cd changer, airbags) for under $20k.

Awesome vehicle. Un-minivan minivan. Sporty yet practical. Beautifully built yet affordable. Perfect size for small family. Power is just adequate. Very good suspension, quiet and very fun to drive. Made in Japan so it should be reliable.

Goes great with our RX-8!

Replaced our Protege5 with this, it is awesome and much better than any of the minivans on the market. We didnt want the lousy gas mileage of an SUV either. It also looks so cool next to the RX-8... both in black, which is the only way I like it... once you go black you never go back!

Had the car for 2.5 years. Really like the car. Agree with most of the other reviews, needs better tires, stronger A/C, 5th gear(overdrive)and interior light switch from drivers seat. Approx. 22mpg city/ 26-28mpg highway, thought I would get a little more. Overall satisfied with the car for the money!

Sport-car like - - - minivan wagon?

Wow, what a car!!!!!!! Originally, looked around and found wagons with only 2 rows of seats. Looked at minivans, they are too big and hard to park on the street. Gee, saw an ad and went to the Mazda dealership. It looks very very sporty in person. A test-drive made me fall in love with the easy-to-use navigator, little body roll for its side around corners, good acceleration & I like the sport-shift feature of the AT. Man, enough room for really 6 adults & lots of storages & cup holders. Even got leather seat as an aftermarket add-on. Really nice. BTW, nice mpg for my first 2 tanks. Gee, can't wait to get some nice 18" wheelers and spoiler lip!!!!! Mazda rocks!!
