My Last Mazda

This is the third and most likely the last Mazda I will buy. I had a new 2008 Mazda 3... loved it! Had a pre-owned 2009 cx9 but not long after buying it from a dealer I needed new tires and brakes and enough little repairs that was annoying. i.e. Blower motor, So I decided to trade it in for a 2016 Mazda 3 because I needed something with better gas mileage. It was a loaner used by the dealer, had 4300 miles on it. Had it in for service twice within the first month, the front end was smelling and the blind spot monitor stopped working. Second service was because my rear brakes were making noises. Turns out it was a warped rotar and had been like that when I bought it. Third visit they replaced the front end struts, strut mounts and now power steering column? I believe. They have had it for two weeks now and it still isn't fixed. I've only had it for 3 months!!! They have been great about fixing all the the problems and giving me a loaner to drive BUT I feel like it should hold. Not a happy customer and this will be the end of my love affair with Mazda.

Meh, good car but not "Great"

2016 Mazda 3 s Grand Touring 4dr Hatchback (2.5L 4cyl 6M)

Sporty fun drive due to ample torque 1st - 3rd gear, but 4th-6th are a joke even with the 2.5L engine. Biggest complaint is that the interior is LOUD! you cannot hold a quiet conversation in this vehicle, main reason why I traded it in. That and just not enough power. I upgraded the suspension and rear sway bar, and only after that was the driving experience "Great"

Curious Car

After driving the car over a year and two months ...no mechanical problems.. besides maintaince the car does feel solid and all of its mechanism built as a highly quality product from Japan. The acceleration on the car is better than most .. And handling is really good and freeway merging is good for a 2.0 liter but the automatic transmission sometimes trashes the engine as if rev off sync with the trans ..kind of like a car from the 1980's or something Mazda could have refined the transmission as they did with the engine as it has plenty of power. Kinda left me begging for more zoom zoom when coming out of corners ..why Mazda?

Mixed feeling

I started out really liking this car. Handling is easy, speeds up nicely, excellent mileage (36 local roads with not much traffic lights). My first problem was the limited visibility. I removed the head rest on the passenger side (I mostly drive it alone) so that I can see to the right side rear with the rear view mirror but it's still very limited. I have gotten used to the size of the rear hatch so visibility on that is not a problem. Then, around 6 months, when the days started getting darker earlier, that's when I noticed the headlights problem. Even with full headlights on, it's really dim. Brought it in to the dealer service and was told there's no fix for it since it's the basic iSport. There's basically a very small lighted region and a dome shaped darker region. The darker shade is right on my line of vision and I can barely see 30 feet in front. Making turns is even worse. I can't see anything to the sides so I'm basically making blind turns and creeping along. This problem isn't very noticeable if you drive in cities where there are street lights but you're basically driving in the dark in rural areas. I do not feel safe driving it anymore. I was thinking of trading it in but found out this lighting style is the trend for most brands now. There may be some better lighting (like the bixenon ??) for more expensive styles and brands. I'm actually thinking of buying an older car with the old lighting as I never have any problems with my old car. In the end, I really do not feel safe driving with such dim lights.
