Used 2006 Lexus RX 400h Consumer Reviews
Great ride, EPA took me for ride on MPG
A very clean, sharp, user friendly interior loaded with amenities. The exterior looks like RX 330 with larger, sharper wheels, and more angled lights. Hybrid ride is smoother, quieter, greater acceleration than 333rx. When you think hybrid, however, you think great MPG, think again. My wife predominately drives car, uses only premium, drives 90% city, never had a speeding ticket in her life, yet we have never reached 24 mpg on any tankful. Rather, via hand measurement we are at 22.9mpg, 23.6 according to the car computer after 5k miles of driving. Lexus tested car, say its fine & EPA test is outdated, and hybrid battery designed for performance, not MPG,you decide for 50k whats important
Lexus 400h experience
Very quiet vehicle. Supprising mid range acceleration. Handles very well for SUV. We have been averaging just a little over 26mpg on regular unleaded. 90% of our driving is in town. Super tight turning radius, parks like a small car. As we live in the Chicago area we have found this vehicle performs very well in ice and snow conditions.

Fuel Disappointment
While we truly love this vehicle, we are more than upset with the mileage we get. It should be getting 31 mpg in the city; if we can get 22-23, we are doing good. Salesman said when car was broken in, we could expect even more. We now have more than 11,000 miles on it, and it has only gotten worse. It has been checked and rechecked to see if a problem exists... none does. We purchased this vehicle in good faith and feel Lexus has let us down. Calls to corporate Lexus have left us with no further satisfaction. Had we been aware of this situation, I don't believe we would have spent the extra money for it.
Best Car Ever!
Biggest change in automotive technology I've ever experienced in 46 years of driving! The last change I remember close to this was the Olds Toronado with Front wheel drive. This is a bigger step, more luxurious, more responsive, smoother ride, more intelligently built, and a beautiful car inside and out. Tailgate goes up and down electrically, great rear end camera out the back on dashboard display in reverse gear, best GPS, best audio. I came to this from a BMW 540i six speed stick which I used to feel was the best car I've owned. Now the BMW is second best. I am already in line to buy the sedan model GS450h which comes out next May. All car manufacturers have to be scrambling to keep up!
The Finest Luxury Hybrid w/ AWD
A wonderful ride, marvelous features that are too numerous to mention. The navigation system is a luxury that I can't see how we lived without. Seating is comfortable as one would expect. The synergy drive is fantastic. Gas mileage could be better but for the weight of the vehicle and the power it is quite acceptable, far superior to non-hybrids of this size. No need for a third seat, this isn't a suburban, larger isn't always better. More power than you need to merge and pass. Auto wipers are quite a nice treat and the headlights are probably the best I have seen.
