Been Testing Out My New 2017 RX350

Chris, 12/13/2017

I just went from a 2015 Audi Q7 TDI to the 2017 RX350. The RX350 seems lighter and more nimble. I read many review on the RX350 and disagree with the sentiments expressed regarding looks and handling. The RX350 bold and aggressive look out shines all of the rest of the SUV's. Its sporting look sends the message that I'm not just another stogy SUV driver. The handling is light. The steering is light and easy as opposed to the stiffer Audi steering. I'm not sure why people think a stiff steering is better, but I have no problems doing twisty roads. In fact it seems like I can do them quicker in the RX350 without a lot of body roll. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the RX350.

Amazing vehicle

I traded in my 2010 RX 350 for a 2017 in mint condition. It’s my 3rd RX 350. This one is every bit as reliable and solid as my others but has so many more features and updated design. The F Sport offers even more safety features and fun extra technology. Unlike many luxury vehicles the Lexus is made to last without much maintenance. If you get regular oil changes and service, these cars can last 20 plus years. They aren’t high/expensive maintenance vehicles. They are built to last. You’ll save money in the long run and time because they are low maintenance. Plus, it’s a beautiful and solid vehicle with enough power to move quickly. I’m sure eventually I’ll get yet another one because if you can only have one car- this is THE one to buy.

The vehical I have always wanted

I have had the RX 350 AWD for 4 months. I am not experiencing any of the vibration or noise that some reviewers are describing, to the point where I was shock reading those review. PERFORMANCE: I think this could be the smoothest car I have ever had, if I am being picky might be too bouncy over bumps. The shifting gears in the transmission is hardly noticeable and I have never found the 3.7 lt V6 is plenty powerful. COMFORT: I have owned Cadillac SRX, BMW X3 and Buick Enclave over the past 10 years. I think the comfort for the Cadillac and Lexus RX350 were the best in different way. The Cadillac has a the softness factor but the Lexus has a firm comfort. I like them both. The BMW X3 could have been the most uncomfortable car I have ever owned. INTERIOR: I love the two tone leather interior with the highlight of the brushed chrome accents. I seem to have more leg room than in the BMW X3. The backseat leg room is very good. I was actually embarrassed to have someone sit in the back seat of the Cadillac and BMW. I think they took some room from the cargo and gave it to the back seat because the cargo area is smaller than both of the BMW and Cadillac. In the Cadillac I had the panoramic moon roof, which was way cool, but I hardly used it. The standard moon roof is just over the front seat. I think the F sport model has the bigger moon roof. SAFETY: I am not a risk taking driver, so I might not be the best for evaluate this. However, the parking assistance package that I have really gives me confidence. I did test drive the Infinity Q50 and it had the 360 cameras. I thought this was a neat feature that is missing on the Lexus. TECHNOLOGY: I can’t imagine a vehicle having better tech features. The LCD screen is huge! I also have the LEXUS ENFORM and it is terrific. Real Time weather, Real Time Sports and Stocks! Need to know where the closest gas station is? Where the lowest prices? This car lets you do it. REALIBITY: I have had this car for 4 months and it has started every time. VALUE: Pricing is higher than the similar models for Lincoln or Cadillac but more affordable than the Porsche McCann, the Jaguar F-Pace, Land Rover. I think I got a good deal from the dealership that’s all I can ask for.

Great Second RX

This is my second RX, and my third Lexus. My first was the 2005 RX 330. I traded it in for this one with over 300K on it. The reason for the trade, repairs became more expensive and it was just pain time. I really miss the old RX 330, but I can't complain about this one. First and foremost, service at Lexus is exceptional. The service representative make you feel so comfortable, you almost want to hug her. Second and most of all, The car gains respect when riding down the road. I got the autumn shimmer, with the sunroof, heated and cooled front seats, and tow enabled package. Not sure what the package is called, but it was good enough for me. I tried the Mercedes GLE, Audi Q7, and Jaguar F Pace, but none came close to the price to value point that the RX 350 did. All I can say about that is go find out for yourself. The Q7 is a great car, but the price point could put you close to 70K. The final point I want to make is, my wife took the new RX 350 and I only get to ride it on the weekend. :)

Trust is completely broken on Lexus brand.

This was my first Lexus with some positive expectations based upon the reputation it has carried for decades. After one year, the whole family has concluded that the car was actually not good. I drive 4-5 cars concurrently and have experience most foreign cars including German luxury ones, Japanese luxury brands and many Korean brands. I would say this is the worst experience I had. Performance is bad. Horse power is not enough, handling is rough. Surprisingly, pretty noisy car. Comfort? I don’t know what today... I just feel more tired when I drive this car compared to all of my cars (Mercedes, BMW, Honda, Acura, Hyundai, Kia, even Proche, etc).
