Update - 30,000 miles with no problems

Have had the car for just over a year and put almost 12,000 miles on it. No major problems to speak of. I did get a windshield crack from a rock and occasionally the audio system is slow to start up when I turn the car on, but those issues are rare and have also happened on my wife's X7 and on my Tahoe. The Defender is my favorite car I've ever owned. Comfortable, cool, great for the family, and great to load up and take to the mountains. I'd absolutely buy this car again! Update now that I'm at 30,000 miles. Still haven't had any major problems. Just change the oil and rotate the tires and it's good to go. I've taken it on family road trips for 1200 miles and it was comfortable and easy. I've also taken it off road in Moab and it handled everything with confidence and ease.

This vehicle is truly amazing! I don't worry about wet roads or snow, it goes through anything. Pot holes? No issue, drive through them. The 22" tires can take a beating. Ride comfort is not as good as our Range Rover but that is to be expected. There is a compartment or handle everywhere! No issues getting in or out and I am handicapped! The six cylinder has PLENTY of power. Grandkids argue over who gets the "way back" seat. :)

Impressive Value for 2024 90S

Mark C, 03/28/2024

I purchased a 2024 Defender 90S. This base model is my exact specification. It has a Khaki interior and a few options: white roof, Pangea Green paint, exposed tow hooks, tow receiver, and 18" white steel wheels.) The Defender has been flawless so far. The 2.0L engine is smooth and robust. The highway ride is luxury-level quiet, with smooth transmission shifts and responsive handling for an SUV. All the technology works, and the standard active and passive safety systems prevent a potentially severe crash. The standard kit on the 90S is very impressive. I plan to attend a Land Rover Experience event in the spring to develop my off-roading skills and utilize the Defender's off-road capabilities. When I compared our base 90S features against other luxury and near-luxury brands with the same equipment, the Defender was the value-for-dollar winner. The upper trim levels can get eye-wateringly expensive, but the 90S, at $56K, is a solid value. I highly recommend this 2024 vehicle.

Faulty Windshield Design - Defender

Disappointed, 11/06/2024
2023 Land Rover Defender 110 P525 V8 Carpathian Edition 4dr SUV AWD (5.0L 8cyl S/C 8A)

Windshield spontaneously cracked (almost all the way across) on 2024 Defender Carpathian (less than 7k miles). I had no idea this was a common problem when I purchased the vehicle, but I have since learned there a significant amount of complaints and at least one class action lawsuit regarding the known fragile design of the windshield and the expense and inability of obtaining replacements. The dealer quote is ~$3400 for a replacement but the windshield is on backorder with no ETA because of the high amount of breakage (spoke to several dealerships and availability is likely many months away; one estimate was likely 6 months). Given the lawsuit and complaints, I assumed LR must be aware so I contacted them re: potential ETA, and whether they were considering a recall or handling under warranty but they wouldn't provide any information. Unfortunately, it appears that I (along with a bunch of other people) are stuck with expensive, undrivable vehicles because of this faulty design.

It's a Beast and the envy of all who see it!

We've owned Jeep Wrangler Unlimiteds for many years but the quality was low enough and priced high enough when we were shopping for a new vehicle in October 2023, that we decided to look at Land Rovers. We also own a Model Year 2019 Jaguar XE R-Sport that have been running flawlessly for five years and 60,000 miles that we were not concerned with the undeserved reputation of poor quality by JLR found in Consumer Reports who lately have been pushing Eco cars over their prior pure vehicle reviews. At our local JLR Dealership, we saw a Defender 110 in Tasman Blue (aka Royal Air Force Blue in the UK) with full Black Pack trim and 22-inch Black rims. The interior was full leather throughout and very high quality. It had the P400 MHEV engine (an inline six cylinder petrol engine that is both supercharged and turbocharged with Mild Hybrid 48V EV assist on launch) with a throaty exhaust that propels this 5400lb+ vehicle going 0-60MPH in only 5.8 seconds, wow! If you are debating between the P250 2.0L 4-cylinder, the P400 MHEV, or 5.0L v8, definitely go with the P400 MHEV (which sounds great, is faster off-the-line than the V8, and gets better MPG too). It sits way taller than our old Jeep Wrangler 4-door Unlimited, has a full pano glass roof with safari ridge windows, and fantastic rear seating too (I am 6'2" and have PLENTY of leg and head room!). It is truly a Beast that is the envy of all who see it! Sorry to our former Jeep friends and our German SUV wannabees. Once you drive a Defender 110, you'll never look back :-)

I like everything about this vehicle. Handling on and off road. Looks functionality and road presence. I would recommend the in line 6 engine. Quiet ride smooth and terrific handling. This Land Rover product has exceeded my expectations.

I absolutely love my Defender 110. I have base model with HUD and upgraded rims and tire cover. I receive compliments whenever I go. I traded in my 2020 Lexus GX 460. Which I also loved but the style and technology was becoming dated. I considered the new GX 550 but after seeing a side by side comparison I made the right choice. In my opinion the LR just looks more luxurious interior wise. Last thing the ride quality is great.

Just over 19,000 miles and a year on my 2023 Land Rover Defender S P300, and I've had just two minor issues. Apple CarPlay very rarely doesn't behave and if I toggle the WiFi off/on on my phone the issue is resolved. When Start/Stop activates, it will very rarely start back up in Neutral, but I did my research before purchasing a Rover and am pretty unbothered by these minor quirks that show themselves rarely.

Brought a 2023 130 x-dynamic off the show room floor and it has not let our family down to trips to Vermont and upstate NY where there are no roads but potholes. Over 20k miles already and tons of city driving can recommend anymore.
