Comfortable roomy interior, and nice cargo area.

I have always been a Jeep owner and will miss the Jeep family. I started out to get a Jeep Compass Limited for my retirement vehicle (since I don't go off-roading anymore). For what I payed for my new 2021 Kia sx turbo I got so much more than expected in value for the cost, like when sitting in the the roomy interior of the kia (I am 6 foot tall, 240 lb ), the styling their with the 10.3-inch navigation screen, all the driver-assistance tech, the Bose premium 8 speaker sound system looks and sounds very nice. Even the speaker grills are shaped like mountains when sitting in there, those comfortable seats for my long legs. Kias warranty. Looking at the exterior I noticed the wheels, the attention to detail in the front and the rear styling, fit and finish of the exterior, the 28% approach and departure angles (OK) not so much for the plastic skid plates front and rear. But it dose make it look a little rugged-looking though. The power from 0 to 60, and that (center differential lock) and torque vectoring for this price point. I wanted to mention the best in class braking 60 to 0, this is just my opinion only. (The 235 tires might have something to do with that.) I am impressed with the ride and how it handles on the rough back roads, there are some pavements that are louder than others but 95% of the time it is very good for its class, it has 235 tires with 18 inch rims and is not as quiet as my 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland (Hemi) ha ha but is almost half the price and I am retired now. It dose get twice the millage though... Remember the tires have a lot to do with road noise, stopping distance, handling and ride, (the width of the tire, its sidewall height and tread compound). UPDATE 10/20/2021 SX AWD (1.6L 4cyl Turbo ) I now have 13,000 miles on the Seltos. We have went to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park twice now myself and two grandkids and we had room for all of are stuff and no comfort complaints, It is about 7 hour trip from are home in Ohio and my back side never never had any complaints either ha ha. The 1.6 Turbo had no problem going up Jellico Mountain on I-75, and in the Smoky Mountains it handled the US-441 Newfound Gap Road with curvy roads and steep winding curves like a champ and a 11-mile section of U.S. Route 129 there has become a hugely popular destination for motorcyclists and sports car drivers and had no problems their. On Christmas Eve 2020 11PM it was 17 degrees and we had 6 inches of snow and I tested it out on are hilly back roads stopping half way up a hill and starting up again and it handled that with no problems. I run Firestone weathergrip touring tires. At 9,000 miles I had it serviced and oil changed for the second time and they recalibrated the DCT transmission threw a technical service bulletin. It did shift better and I would advise asking about it, my dealer let me know with out asking... It is not a sports car but the AWD and the1.6 turbo is very energetic while returning better then estimated fuel millage. We have got 31,32 on are road trips and 27,28 all around gas millage on regular gas. I have tried here to give you some honest real on road driving impressions that I have had driving the Setos sense 4/2/2020. I am just really enjoying driving the Seltos SX.

I traded in my Mazda CX5 for the new KIA Seltos. I have to say I'm really loving it! Compared to my Touring model Mazda, the Seltos really delivers on quality, features and comfort for about the same price. Smooth ride! The turbo sx model I highly recommend so you're not hesitant when pulling out or merging. Plenty of cargo space in the trunk area with a nice cargo cover for security or keeping the sun off groceries. Ample leg room in front and rear seating. The seats are surprisingly comfortable for being new and leather. The Bose speakers are my favorite as they light up and pulse to the music in a non distract blue. I had hoped for the fun yellow color, but it looked more like a banana and lime had a baby...but totally loving the steel grey exterior and black leather trim inside. Very happy overall.

I have been a VW girl for a long time but, this Kia Seltos is great! I love the amount of quality you get for the price. It's comfortable, economical and very affordable. I do really like the large console screen. I have only 1 complaint and that is that the time changes back 1 hour every few days. I have to take it back to the dealer to see what the problem is. Otherwise it's so far my favorite vehicle!

Great CUV For The Price

JAM520, 10/27/2020
2021 Kia Seltos S 4dr SUV (2.0L 4cyl CVT)

I have owned my Seltos for six months and have only put 2,200 miles on it. It’s a great CUV for the price. I opted for the FWD S as I live in sunny Arizona and rarely drive on non-paved roads or in snow. The Seltos drives great and offers a number of advanced safety features. I do wish it offered LED headlights and blind-spot monitoring on all trims. I turned off lane keep assist as it was annoying, and disengage the auto start/stop every time I start the vehicle for the same reason. While I’m happy to have the option to turn off auto start/stop, I wish I didn’t have to do this every time I start the vehicle. Similarly, the Seltos defaults back to Normal driving mode with each restart which is also annoying if you want to drive and stay in Smart or Sport mode. I do love the Apple CarPlay integration and find it intuitively easy to navigate the entire infotainment system. The Seltos drives smooth and I think it’s very quiet on the highway. Acceleration is more than adequate in my opinion, too, as the S is non-turbo. While I wish there was an option to add a cover to the hatch area, I have found the interior cabin to be very spacious and I like the utility of the adjustable cargo floor. I especially love the overall look of the Seltos, especially in Neptune Blue (the color of mine), Starbright Yellow, or Mars Orange. Despite the number of things I wish the Seltos had, I love it and would buy it again today. Definitely worth checking out and cross shopping if considering a CUV.

Many issues service can't "replicate"

UnhappySeltosDriver, 06/03/2021

I wanted to love this car. I put down a deposit and waited for this car to be delivered. I loved it for the first 8 weeks, but then weird and random electrical/display issues started happening. The display above the steering wheel has gone black and reset twice while I was driving. The radio has turned on by itself. The entertainment display has changed screens without anyone touching it. The light bar system lights up when the car restarts from eco mode, when you shift gears and sometimes just randomly while your riding down the road. This problem I can get to repeat daily, not consistently, but daily and the service department says is they can't replicate it?!? Some of these random weird things, no you can't. But the light, yes you can and you shrug your shoulders and have the nerve to say to me that you only get paid if you find a problem, like that's gonna convince me there isn't something going on, I have video after video. The service department asked for the videos to be sent, I explained to them that they are long (my whole drive home) and I could only send part. They said ok. Then when I went to speak to the manager he said the videos had been edited so they really weren't proof, but refused to sit down and watch the full length videos with me. His solution, call Kia and file a claim. I did. Then something really weird happened, the back windshield wiper went off spray and all, without anyone touching it. I called and left a message at the dealer for the service advisor. I received a call back from Kia Customer Assistance saying they will follow up with me on the case at the end of the week, but the dealership will not work on my car anymore. What?!! They sold me a wrap warranty that I expected to use at their dealership but they won't work on my car!!! I'm not imagining these things, I have a lot on video. Do not buy this car or any car from Earnhardt Peoria Kia in Peoria, AZ. This has been a nightmare.

I bought my Soul in 2016 when my Hyundai Elantra Touring was starting to ride a bit rough. A few weeks ago, I took it in for an oil change, and foolishly stuck around at the dealership. Naturally I had to waste some time by roaming around the showroom. Never knew the Seltos existed, but when I saw it, I thought 'oh crap, this is exactly the car I wanted when I bought my Soul.' You see, the only gripe I had about the Soul was the lack of cargo space, and the Seltos, while still small, had ample space for my needs (ie. could fit my golf clubs with the seats up). Within a few days, I had one to replace the Soul. Took a bit of searching to find the one I wanted (a FWD 'S' trim in 'Mars Orange'), but I found it in another state about on hour and a half away. So far, it fits the bill perfectly. I think it rides a bit smoother than the Soul, but not as smoothly as my wife's Suby Crosstrek. If it performs as well as the Soul did, I plan on keeping it for a while. I just need to avoid waiting at the dealership during oil changes. Update 3/22/21 - Just got back from a road trip from PA to Florida and back with the Seltos, and still loving it. Driver's seat is very comfortable, and I had no problem with the 15 hr drive. The 'lane following assist' was great for saving some energy, though it truly is just an assist. Not sure it reads yellow lane markings well, as it tended to drift at times, and would not have held the lane had I not been steering. Road noise was pronounced on some surfaces (like 'oil and chip'), but I found it acceptable. Very versatile vehicle, and I still don't see one better in its class. My son's GF has a Kona, and it is very nice, but doesn't have nearly the cargo space of the Seltos.

Awful

Bought this car in August 2020. It was great at first. A few months later it started having issues with the oil. The oil would run dry before I was even due for an oil change. I’ve taken it back to the dealership multiple times because it continues to have a loud clicking noise when I step on the gas. Today my car broke down on the side of the highway as I was trying to accelerate. As I stepped on the gas the car lost power and all of the lights on the dashboard appeared. I turned the car off and on again and it was able to get me home but this car has been nothing but an inconvenience since I purchased it. This will be my last Kia I own and I have been a Kia owner since 2010. The dealership has no idea what is wrong and Kia will not fix the issue until the car is completely unable to work.

1500 miles and it's in the shop

Loved this SUV at first but at 1500 miles the lane departure, crash avoidence and high beam dimming all quiet working. The dual clutch transmission bucks and jumps at low speed. Just a quick update my Seltos was back at the dealership on 12/15/20 I was told it needed a new computer to fix the problem. Unfortunately it will not be available until mid-march. They did offer me a free oil change

It checked all of my boxes; love it

I live in rural central Illinois with a 35-minute commute. I spent a great deal of time researching this purchase and I narrowed my July 2020 test drives down to the Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, and Hyundai Kona. The 2021 Kia Seltos caught me by surprise at the dealership since I had not even heard of it. However, for the price, features, and long warranty, the Seltos was able to check all of my boxes and just won me over. I have about 4,000 miles on it now; including two 12-hour trips and I really like this car. It's not a luxury vehicle, but is comfortable enough (good seats and quiet ride) with essential features. Moreover, it has excellent acceleration (even in SMART mode) and gas mileage. On my daily commute I average about 37 MPG and can achieve 41 MPG if I drive carefully. The lane assist/warning is a nice feature for long trips. It has good ground clearance and I look forward to seeing how it handles on ice/snow. Suggestions for the next model year (in order of importance to me): 1. Provide tilt steering in addition to the existing steering height and telescoping features. This will help with arm fatigue on long trips and will improve visibility of the center instrument cluster. 2. Raise the rear-view mirror attachment point higher and make the mirror easier to adjust (it is very stiff). Also, get rid of the black plastic shroud (purpose?) behind the mirror to provide more front windshield visibility, especially when turning right and going downhill. 3. Reduce the width of the center console (or lower it) slightly to give the driver just a bit more room for the right knee. A wide center console is the main reason reason I flat-out rejected the Ford Escape and the Mazda CX-5. 4. Get rid of the analog speedometer (which is blocked by the steering wheel anyway) and redesign the instrument panel so you can easily see the digital display for speed, Avg MPG, miles to empty, etc. 5. Give the front passenger the ability to raise their seat just like the driver can. 6. The headlight auto bright/dimming feature needs work; it sometimes flicks on and off and was so annoying that I stopped using it. 7. The flip-out key does not always slide into the ignition smoothly; why not just get rid of the traditional key?

I was coming from a lease and tried the Seltos after reading about this new model. Within 5 minutes of driving it, I was sold. It is nimble, responsive, comfortable, sharp-looking, and affordable. I have the base model and am still pleased. I am averaging 36.6 mpg and that is not highway driving. I do miss auto tailgate opener, keyless entry, and may miss heated seats as winter arrives but overall for the price I’m super pleased with this roomy vehicle.

Compared to other small SUVs we tried, the Seltos was FAR quieter, and rode much smoother. The ride is like a much larger car. Love it! The features are about right, the interior is pleasant, controls are nice. The car handles VERY nimbly and easy - which was my wife's reason for buying it. Enough power, good mileage, and the AWD she wanted for rainy weather. KIA has a hit a home run with this one!

Great small SUV

I was looking for a new car after having a Kia Soul for 5 years and I had enjoyed owning it. I originally intended to buy a new Soul but when the local dealership got a Seltos in I had to give it a test drive. After a year of owning it I can say I’ve had nothing but a positive experience with it. Pros: Great on gas, 3 drive modes (eco, normal, sport [which is quite snappy off the line] ), AWD, great color options (I bought the neptune blue), multiple trim options available, great price for what you get (I got the base model to avoid all of the extras I didn’t want like lane assist, etc), apple CarPlay is great for keeping up with comminication when I’m on the road for long periods of time, feels roomy for a small SUV, great on cargo space, infotainment screen graphics are clear and the images from the back up cam are crisp on it making it easy to see a good area of space behind you. Cons: Start/ stop technology can be a bit laggy when you let off the brake (I turn this feature off) and wait for the car to start back up when you go to hit the gas. Sound system isn’t quite up to snuff compared to what I had in the Soul. It’s not very loud and forget it if you listen to anything with decent bass. Even after changing the settings, I still feel like it’s lacking in that area.

From Sportage to Seltos

This is a solid, competent SUV. Impressive features and ability for a little mite. Has commodious room for such a small footprint. I'm getting strong gas mileage 31 hwy and 28 City, only issue there is the tank is small 13.2 gls. I did bounce for the S AWD model to get the extra safety features as well as AWD for Michigan living. Also when you get AWD heated seats come along with the package, also nice for Michigan! I've been impressed with the huspa it has. I keep it in normal mode, as I did my turbo Sportage. Because it only has a curb weight of 3,076lbs. it doesn't take a lot to move it around quickly. Haven't even had it in sport mode yet. I also like the advantage of a center lock differential a nice feature I've not been able to experience yet. The car handles well, but rough bumps give it some jitters. It's happy to go 80mph in "smart" mode and doesn't struggle at all. Lots of hard plastic inside that I'm not crazy about, but all in all the ergonomics is pleasant. If I could have bounce another $2,200 I would have preferred the EX. It comes std. with a sunroof and some more safety features. I'm a large guy and go 242lbs. and I can get in and out easily. I was always hitting my head on my Sportage when entering. I tried to sit in a Stinger, but struggled so badly to get in it wasn't worth it at any price for me. So if you want a nice vehicle with many extras, get the "S" for sure and maybe even the EX. For the money you'll be making a good choice! Here's a bummer, a week after my purchase and only 908 miles on my car, that included a 400 mile trip, I had a bad fall. Although not related, testing showed I had an aneurysm behind my right knee and need surgery. So my baby, that I love is in my garage with storage insurance(:

Great car with a lot of problems

I love this car but it's been nothing but a problem child. After 1000 miles, the AC broke. I thought it's a defective part, no worries. I saw this is pretty common in these cars. After 3300 miles, the IVT transmission broke. It's been 40 days since I gave it to service, they made it extremely complicated, hard, and were extremely rude about trying to tow/fix a transmission problem on a new car and I have heard no updates. This is absolutely the level of service you can expect and a common problem. If you like to have problems with your car and driving [non-permissible content removed] rentals for extended periods of time in the first 5 months of owning a car, BUY THE SELTOS. Otherwise, save your time and money.

I was looking for a small SUV, but one with decent cargo space. Bigger SUV's were out of my price range and all the sub-compacts were too small. I was looking for a decent size crossover and I found it in the Seltos. It's got the room i was looking for, a nice ride, AWD, and all the accessories I need and none I don't. If you're 6'2" or above it might be cramped but other than that I it just works. So far, I love this thing. Update: with snow tires it really handled the winter conditions with no problems. I found it to be as good as my old Subaru in the snow. 4k miles in and still loving it.

Super smooth ride for a small SUV, exceptional design and quality, very easy maintenance. Plenty of room for 4 tall adults, knockout gas mileage, very sure-footed in all normal driving conditions (I've read reviews panning this vehicle for not being an "off-roader" - not sure why anyone would even review it in that category because that's not it's purpose)

I just purchased my Seltos three weeks ago with 66 miles on it. I was happy the first few days and then my check engine light came on. Took it to dealership and they said they had to reset a recall. Here I am on week three and the check engine light is back on!!!!!!!!!!! I regret my decision already! I love the features of the vehicle but it’s not worth the inconvenience of recalls and hassle of taking it back and forth to the service department!

NO matter which model you buy, buy the safety pack as well. Purchased a sport+ safety pack. The first 1200 km used 6.1 liters per 100km 50/50 city and freeway driving. Smooth and quiet drive. feels so safe to drive with great height and vision. Yes, the anti-collision works well. ( My son was driving)

Stay away from Kia. Bought this car last year with 36 miles on it and a week in I called the dealership and informed them the car was acting weird. It was jerking and rpms randomly going up. When in idle you could hear a ticking/knocking sound from the engine. When at a red light/stop car wouldn’t go. When parked and engine turned off for a while engine would randomly turn back on by itself. I told dealership about this and they thought I was crazy so I did my own research they said it just needed a transmission computer software update. These issues continued and two transmissions updates later come to find out from other owners with similar issues the updates are just the start of a huge issue transmissions and engines are having to be replaced by the dealerships. I got rid of this car asap. Don’t buy it

Great car but does have issues

I am a huge KIA fan and have all of my kids driving different models. My wife wanted the 2021 KIA Seltos so we went and purchased the EX model. Great interior, gas mileage and overall space. The downside is the stereo and wireless set up. We have had nothing but problems since we bought it and the response is they have to wait for more people to have issues even though I provided video and photos. Instead of a wired CarPlay like most other manufactures, they decided to go Bluetooth only. Even though the car has 2 USB ports, they pretty much are just charging ports. Our phone calls get kicked out of the system all the time, can’t see the maps and issues with music freezing and then the system starts over. They should have given the option to do either wired or Bluetooth but they did not. The other issues is that to go to the next song using your steering wheel buttons, you have to go down instead of up. Not sure why but the dealership said that is how their newer models all are for K5, Stinger, sportage and Seltos. For a company that is trying to showcase luxury, they did miss the boat on this one.

Oil consumption testing and engine replacement!!!!

Hi. Bought our Seltos in August 2020 and LOVED it (yes, past tense). Got the recall notice for the faulty oil piston rings coating thing and "passed" inspection, aka the car did NOT have the problem. BUT the car was two quarts low on oil. Then on to oil consumption testing and sure enough, now the engine must be replaced however Kia "corporate" is not providing approval. TOTAL BS. The car died unexpectedly and nearly caused several fatal crashes. It is sad to write this as Kia gets an A+ for design, style, size, etc., etc. and not to mention marketing, but if the engine doesn't work NOTHING ELSE MATTERS! Beware and give this car a few more years to try to get things right.

First, it is eye catching and stunning to look at! My SX-Turbo is starlight yellow and black and the compliments are amazing! It stands out from any other small SUV out there. It is fully loaded and under $30K, with every safety and infotainment features. The interior room compares size wise to the CX-5 with double the amount of storage as my Mazda CX-3! It is fun to drive! My salesman,Frank M., at Smithtown Kia was awesome in finding the one I was looking for. So happy we bought this car! Absolutely love, love it!

I’ve had my Seltos EX for 10 months and 9000 trouble free miles.I like the many safety features And Apple CarPlay. I keep the rear seats down to provide a comfortable space in the cargo area for my spoiled wiener dog. The 2.0L 146 HP has performed surprisingly well on long trips from AZ to Louisiana. So far my dog and I like this little SUV.

Had my seltos since may of 2020. Not only has it had more recalls than I can count, spent 6 months in the shop and I will be having to drop it off again for a piston issue as well as a leak. This thing literally has 5000 miles on it because I can hardly drive it. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the seltos

Test drove the top end model SX as my lease for my 2017 Tucson is up come August. Seltos exterior looks sharp and interior is Nice looking.Didnt care for the ride on a bumpy road but on smooth pavement rides Nice. Didn’t think the front seats are that comfortable. No power seat for passenger, No power lift gate and has a small gas tank 13 gals.Think the Kia Soul has a larger Gas tank . Think being the top end model Should have those features! In general I would rate it as follows Exterior 9 out of 10 Interior 8 Comfort 7 Ride 5 on crappy pavement 8 on nice pavement So I have 2 months to decide and have others to test drive. The dual clutch transmission on the Tucson is terrible and this vehicle has the same set up and engine. You can still tell It’s dual clutch but better .

Had the car less than a year, barley even driven. Less than 5k miles and has been in the shop for almost a month. Can’t figure out what’s wrong with it. “fixed it” and called me to come pick it up and was still not fixed. Every light in the dashboard is on, car will not shift into drive or reverse, keys will not work. So far they replaced the entire fuse block to attempt to fix the issue. Car was completely dead when trying to pick it up, saying it was fixed. Have a feeling this is a Lemon and will be exploring my legal options.

LEFT STRANDED 7 times in 3 months

had the first 2021 seltos on the road in my city, all was good for the first 9 months, then door lock horn and car horn don't work in cold weather, can't get drive mode into eco, stays normal so gas mileage is not good, but most concerning is getting into my car, driving a short distance to my destination, turn off the car and spend 10 to 20 minutes shopping or whatever, get back in to go to next destination, CAR IS DEAD, no sound, no lights on the dash...nothing STRANDED, I try to turn over again and again until 2 orange lights on the right side light up, I put the gas pedal to the floor and pump until it starts, and go home. Over 5 weeks, this happens 6 times, I take it to the dealer and they replace the battery. One month later, it happened again and my seltos has been in the shop for 2 weeks, I told them I don't want it back until they solve and repair. Only 9700 kms Otherwise I was pleased with most everything about my seltos, but I am a senior with a support dog who travels with me, and I NEED to be safe and feel safe when I get behind the wheel. Time will tell, because so far the kia techs at my dealership can't replicate the problem and kia head office are also involved now, apparently this is a unique complaint,

I was in the process of preparing to buy my first car and had been doing some research on smaller SUV’s. I constantly found myself coming back to the Seltos. Decided to finally go and test drive one and instantly fell in love. The amount of room and space is amazing! Plenty of leg room in the front and back, and lots of head space in the back seats. The truck was the perfect size for my good clubs, plus extra things I might need. I am LOVING the touchscreen, my Seltos comes with an 8” screen and is plenty big enough. I ended up going with the AWD S trim for the extra safety features and they come in handy every time I drive. I especially enjoy the lane-assist and the fact that it lets me know when the car in front of me starts to move when I’m stopped. I’ve some reviews about a lot of noise in the cabin when driving on freeways; that is not the case for me. Was set on getting the yellow body/black roof exterior color, but left with the Mars Orange instead, it looks sooo much better in person. If you’re on the fence about purchasing a Seltos, I’d give it 2 thumbs up. I’ve only had mine for 2 weeks and I don’t have enough good things to say about it!

Had this car brand new in 2020. After having 28,000kms. Kia gave me a new engine from deffective parts. Took 3wks. Then drove less than 300kms and was stranded 2hrs. On the road due to a lose hose clamp for the coolant. Not machanics fault. Bad clamp. My neighbor has the 2022 seltos. It burns oil after 10,000kms. I really liked my seltos ex. Until all this happened. I found the perfect replacement vehicle when i traded it in. Please people. DO RESEARCH. The car is great. The engine since 2018 hasn't changed and kia continues to build cars with the crappy 2.0L. Sportage 2.4L. Same as hyundai. No issues but do research. Get the best selling car and expect to NOT pay more than $32,000 for brand new. Used cars are ridiculously expensive right now. If you can wait get new and save money and be on the road.. Not parked beside it. Be safe.. And check out the Subaru Crosstrek. Fyi.

It's a good solid vehicle. It has great gas mileage. Power is sufficient for passing easily on the highway. I have snow tires on it right now and the road noise is a little loud on dry pavement. I'm in Alberta Canada so of course I need snow tires for now. The only negative thing that I have to say is that the area where the USB plugins are located is cramped and tight for people with large hands. I'm 6'2 and weigh 265 lbs but with the drivers seat in the lowest position I have plenty of head and leg room. Overall I'm very pleased with my 2021 KIA Seltos LX.

I've had the car for 6 months. I like the look and the feel of the car and the bells and whistles do no disappoint. However, just like one of the other reviewers mentioned, certain parts of the car do scratch easily from the inside and the outside. I have had two engine issue already with only 7200 miles on the car. Current the car when stopped completely turns off - while you are in DRIVE! The engine has started to make noises that are loud and the engine shakes when it is in lower speeds. This week with all of that going on the check engine light came on so it has a date with the dealership. If it doesn't get better I will be writing the corporate office as there should not be this much trouble the first couple of months on a new car!

I recently purchased a 2021 Seltos. i like that the Seltos is a smaller sized SUV, than my Sportage but still roomy, also better gas mileage-I'm averaging 32/Hwy. one thing i do not like is the driver seat is cupped on the outside making it very uncomfortable entering and exiting the vehicle, another con for me would be the engine shutting off while stopped-there is quite a lag when you let off the brake and take off. i was not informed of any of this while purchasing the Seltos. had i know these details i would have kept my Sportage.

Seems these dual clutch transmissions are failing big time. My 2021 SX-T has been at dealers now over a month needing 1. ECU Reflash then 2. Needed a module then, 3. needs a gasket and finally 4. say it needs an actuator which there are NONE in the US or Korea. My service advisor said it could take months. Totally unhappy with spending $31000 for top of the line to now have to join the list of new Seltos owners who can only enjoy their car if they go to the dealership and sit in the car and make Varoom noises. I am 70 years old and have driven 16 cars over 1,1000,000 miles. My last vehicle went 240,000 miles before it needed a tranny. This one lasted 33,000 miles which, if you google DCT issues, is a very long life. Do yourself a favor and avoid the Seltos with either transmission because they are crap UPDATE 10/30/2021 Just got latest news from the Car company from hell. After replacing the actuator twice, the geniuses told me yesterday that I need a whole new transmission. Wonder how long this will take. Bald Hill Kia, Warwick, RI keeps throwing [non-permissible content removed] at the wall. How many minutes do you think it will take me to list this lemon for sale if I ever get it back. Totally disgusted that I have to deal with this [non-permissible content removed] company UPDATE 11/9/21 SO NOW THEY SAY KIA GAVE OK TO REPLACE WHOLE TRANNY. Of course, there's none around but they assure me one is on the way. No one I have spoken to believes any of this. Go ahead, buy 1 and prove me wrong. NO INTO 3RD MONTH ON KIA HELL UPDATE 11/18/21 Got it back today after 10 weeks and 2 days. no charge new tranny and battery. NOW A WAIT AND SEE GAME

My wife had a Kia Forte for 8 years and loved it, but it was time for a change and I wanted her in a slightly larger, safer vehicle. She absolutely loves her Seltos. We've had it 9 months, 6000 miles with no issues. I'm 6' and 245 and find it very comfortable, but so does my 5'3", 130 wife. Great mileage, up to 38 and 41 on the road, but about 35-36 mpg in town (much better than her old Forte). It has incredible cargo space for a CUV, but also good passenger space including the rear seating. Ride is solid and smooth. At first we were disappointed that there wasn't Sirius radio, but actually don't miss it. The safety features like the lane correction took some getting used to, but now we both appreciate it. As others have noted, there will be a few tweaks with future year models, but we love our Seltos. The starbright yellow and black gets lots of comments!

After reading about the Seltos I was eagee to test drive one. I have a 2016 Kia Soul + with 37000 miles and have been very impressed with Kia. The soul has no squeaks or rattles or had any major issues at all. Our daughter it's getting too tall for the back seat so we're looking to upsize our ride. The quality of the Seltos appeared to be the same as my Soul. It wasn't until I test drove it that I became severely disappointed. Right off the lot the road noise was horrible. I drove it down the highway a city street and a country road at speeds up to 55 MPH. This dealer only has the one Seltos and the poor sales person completely deflated when I told her the road noise was a deal-breaker. To put the noise level in perspective let me tell you this: I am an appliance repair Tech and I drive a cargo van all week long. The Seltos was almost as noisy as riding in the van.

SX 1.6 turbo...star bright yellow...moon roof (I has the roof wrapped in black) so far so good had since Oct 17th 2020 but still has only 900 miles on it as it is my wives car as we use it only 200 miles per month...wireless phone charger doesn't work with our Samsung phones. Turbo has lag when first taking off but makes up for it very quickly. Transmission is a bit quirky in any mode but sport. Gas mileage if you keep in below 65 is mid 30's. Average around town is 28....Like the handling as it feels very sporty. As I say so far so good.
