Kia optima 2013 compressor went out after just a yr and a half. Under warranty, so they took care of it. BUT....IT WAS A REFURBISHED PART with a 12 Month warranty . It Just went out again after 18 months and of course it's out of warranty! My issue here is...the car is 3 and a half yrs old and has gone through 2 compressors! Does anyone else see my concern? Because Kia does Not! I have bought 2 brand new Cars from them...there will NOT be a third!

I have owned my 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid for over 5 years. When I first got it the vehicle would turn heads. It is very stylish on the road and pretty accommodating on the inside. A big item to note is that it has a very low profile to the ground which makes it a task getting in & out if you are of average or above average height. The bluetooth feature doesn't work quite as expected. Whoever I call always gets echo feedback. Also, the voice feature leaves a lot to be desired. I opt to reach for the console myself to do whatever I need versus using the voice feature. As for the vehicle performance it has enough zip to keep up with traffic flow without getting run over. I am satisfied with the MPG as I drive mostly on the highway and average 36-38 mpg combined city/hwy. At 40K miles my rear window motor gave out and was replaced by warranty. Up until about 85K miles everything was smooth. That's when my car started on a downward trend. The bad experiences started when my car battery died. It was then replaced after a $300 price tag. Just days after replacing the battery I had the engine light come on. After taking it to the dealership it turned out that the fuse to the battery was blown after it was swapped. They waived the diagnostic fee and just charged me the cost of the fuse ($40). A few months passes before my car gives me a big WARNING light with a message to get off the road and park the vehicle immediately. Horrible timing for mechanical issues because I am in rush hour traffic and now have to anxiously get off the road. As soon as I park the car it flickers and shuts off. At this point the vehicle is immobilized and will not turn on. So it had to be towed away to find out that the throttle body is now shot. Another $500+ invested because it's not covered under warranty. Finally reach the 103,000 milestone before the transmission goes out. The transmission has a price tag of $4,100 for a replacement. How convenient after the 100,000 mile warranty just expired. After all this, plus HORRIBLE customer service at the dealership I am officially done with Kia. Also of note - the driver seat mount came loose at 90K miles which I fixed myself due to a $300 repair quote from the dealership.

This car is not for long use. My Kia Optima is a 2013. I bought it used in 2017. It is now December 2020 and I have had my 1st problem that is major. I was exiting the freeway then the oil light came on and the car went dead. I had to turn my car off then turn it back on. I pulled over and check my oil and it was bone 🦴 dry. I had just had an oil change 1 week from this incident. So I bought some oil and poured it in my car. That night while driving on the road my oil light came back on and it died. I pulled over for 10 minutes and let it rest and drove it home.
