Used 1998 Isuzu Rodeo Consumer Reviews
like the energizer bunny
My car seems to be a disaster magnet- people hit it, bump it, scratch it, a car I was parked next to even caught on fire and melted half of my Rodeo. No matter what happens, I get in the the car and it starts right up, quietly, every day. Even with 111000mi, the only thing I have had to replace was a $17 pulley!
I'll never buy another Isuzu!
In a nutshell, capable on and off-road but a real maintenance nightmare. Have replaced a/c 3 times, horn/airbag unit twice, alternator, generator, battery cable, water pump, EGR valve and seal, purge valve solenoid, intake gasket, rear wiper motor, rear door lock 3 times, rear passenger door lock, right rear ABS sensor, plus a dozen factory recall items. I'm now a rental car expert.

LOVE MY RODEO
We bought our Rodeo as a third vehicle for our growing family. Although the Rodeo does not have as much room as our minivan it's much sportier, handles better and the overall experience we enjoy with it is satisfying. I use to sell Rodeo's a few years ago and felt great everytime I went on a test drive with it's new owner. Our Rodeo has 68000 miles on it and the only problem I could begin to discuss is the paint issue. The overall rating more than makes up for the paint issue in my mind. Highly recommended by my family.
This truck rocks!
I bought my truck used last November and have had it now for about 6 months. I love the truck, it handles nice, looks good and is very comfortable, plus the chicks dig it! The only problem I've had is that it burns about a quart and a half of oil every 3000 miles. I only have 40000 miles on it. A little high but I've heard its common with the Rodeo's. Otherwise, the truck is a lot of fun and I plan on keeping it for a very long time.
New models = bad news
This was the first year this body style came out so there were many trips to the dealership for recalls....at least 10. Issuses: the paint on the rims started coming off a year after buying it. The interior is less than comfortable and there is no lighting inside. No glove compartment light, no map lights, no key lights, well ok, one dim dome light in the center. As for repairs, i've had to replace the ABS module($450) and the breaks have NEVER been right. I tried the dealership but they couldn't "duplicate" my problem. Midas wanted $1,000 for the repairs. The rear windshield wiper broke as well. I will NOT purchase another rodeo ever.
