Best investment
This car is as good as they say, no mechanical problems even at 150k. I'm a big guy and the seats do me well. I am comfortable and my back is good even on long trips. This car has it all would buy another in a second.
Infiniti I-cellent
This is an excellent car--is very reliable, is extremely luxurious and extremely fun to drive. Right now I'm at 131,000 on my 1999 touring model-- this car can easily go another 160-170k without any problems. Maintenance and gas (ALWAYS USE PREMIUM IN YOUR I) can be a bit expensive, but the upkeep is a small price to pay for such an otherwise flawless machine.

My dream car
This is my first car so obviously I like it, but when I saw this car it was a bit different. I was immediately in love. It drives like a sports car yet is as comfortable like a luxury car. The sound system is unbelievable for a stock system. The sunroof is a good touch.
Best Value on the Road
Owned for 5 years and 140K. I have replaced an alternator only. Now have 200k. Mileage is 25-27 with mostly hwy and some city. Reliability has been excellent. I drove a similar maxima 1996 until 248K when I was rear ended. This car is unbelievable for quality cost, mileage, comfort and reliability. I paid 9,200 in 2003 for this car with 62k. I plan on driving it until 300k. I should reach it in 3 years. I don't understand people's comments on this site. I love my wife's vehicle (Toyota Sienna), but I have replaced a couple of sensors, timing belts and etc. On this car, I have never replaced CV, (There is not belt), catalytic, A/C, or Trans. This car has a less than 5 cents/mile cost.
Family work horse
Bought our I30 as a second family car 3 years ago to get us back and forth from Boston and Florida to visit family. It had 87,000 miles when we bought it and it now has over 150,000. We have spent $0 on maintenance other than the normal oil changes/tires and breaks ect. Liked it so much we went out and bought a G35.
I30 review
Mileage is 22 - 26 range. Runs well on regular, better on premium. Premium gives it better performance, while mpg doesn't significantly change
Best car I've ever owned
Loved my Infiniti I-30 Touring Model. Super comfortable, elegant, reliable, should have never traded it in!! I am still mourning that decision. Great interior, very luxurious. Bought w/117K miles and could still be running if I didn't trade it in.
This is a great car!!!
We bought this car used in 2004 at 88,000 miles and it now has 174,000 miles 6 years later. This car has been amazing! I nicknamed it the "marshmallow" because it is so comfortable. The maintenance has been quite low $$ wise and reliability amazing! I replaced the original battery last year...10 years later...It still runs so soft and comfortable and performances best at 70 mph. Super comfortable and fun to drive!
The Best Value
I bought this car as a my daily driver w/121K miles on it. I put around 15K miles in a year and half. The car drives quiet and smooth. There are all kinds of luxury options that are standard in this car. Everyday I find some new cool feature about this. If you're in the used car market, this is the car. The package you get for the avg. sale price on this car is incredible.
I30 review
Backseat cup holders would be a plus. Back seat headrest obstruct view however, they are removeable. LImited leg room for larger people.
Love my INFINITI
I have owned and driven cadillac and mercedes and this car has it all! I will no doubt own another (if and when this one ever runs out of steam). And the standard BOSE stereo system is awesome - I'm hooked!
U.S. Market Nissan Cefiro
I love this car so much! Infiniti dealerships know how to treat their customers right. I would definitely recommend this as a great, reliable used car to anyone looking to spend under $10,000. I managed to get a standard model with moonroof and homelink (garage opener) for less than $12,000. Some people might not like the fact that it is derived from the Nissan Maxima, but it's an excellent vehicle so that's a good thing! This is the second car that I have owned and I am NOT rich... If you are looking for an inconspicuous entry- level luxury 4DR, then this is a really good choice and has great reliability, features, and performance. Nissan's VQ engine is the best in the business!!!
Great Car
I have driven this car 8 times from BC to California return and I can't think of one thing that I didn't like about the car. When driving from Seattle south, I thought the gas gauge was broken when it indicated a 1/4 tank remaining after I had driven 400 miles. Obviously I was happy with the fuel economy. The car provides more than adequate power to merge into freeway traffic and quickly pass on single lane highways. The car came with a great warranty but I never got to use it - nothing needed repairs. I even still have the original battery!
2nd time buyer
I have now owned two I30's and neither one has had any problem at all. The first had 95,000 miles when I traded it and this one has 115,000 and is going to be traded soon. What will I buy? I have already decided.. a G35 :) I'm an Inifiniti customer until they let me down.
Happy I Leased It!
When I was first looking at different cars, my thought was to get a Toyota Avalon. I test drove the Avalon, and liked it. They wanted a lease that wouldcost $599+ per month. I test drove the Infiniti I30 and liked it. The lease was $399 a month, $399 down. I loved it. Now my lease will be up on June 3rd, and I'm going to buy my car for a residual of $16,500. I like it that much.
Just a nice reliable Nissan with Infiniti badge
I purchased this car used with 53,000 miles. I now have 75,000 miles after 1 year. It drives very well and its even better on the highway which is what I think it was made for. It has decent pickup as well. It has classy looks for the age of it and for the price you pay for one its much better than a newer domestic car in my opinion. Interior is decent but comfortable. It has been very reliable and I don't for see any problems in the near future. For the bad, The check engine light came on after a month and this is from the Mass air flow sensor. This causes the car to lag in acceleration after starting it up when cold, but if you let it run for a minute it does not cause any problems. After having got rid of it. I can say it is worth a small amount but it is no better than a ford or chevy

a little upgade
had a 97 maxima gle and loved it, went a little more upscale this time and its well worth the few extra bucks. Same performance in a luxury package that impresses everyone as well as it impresses me.
Great Car
Car looks good is super dependable.
Excellent overall vehicle
This is a very reliable and quiet car. It is also very good looking, much better looking than its Maxima cousin. Its safety features are not great compared to today's best family cars such as VW Passat or even the new Altima (no side curtain airbag option, no standard traction control and mediocre IIHS offset crash test results).
Best Luxury Value
If you've always loved the Maxima, but always thought something was missing...this is the car for you! It's got the power, the performance, and the reliability that makes the Max such a great car....but it looks more refined, it's more comfortable, it's got a bit more class, the warranty & dealer service is much better and it's got a few nice "suprise" features that will make you smile everytime. I wouldn't buy it new, but it's an absolute value used!
I love this car!
I have been a Nissan/Infiniti convert since 1995 with the purchase of my Altima. Until now the best car I have ever owned and I had 3 Hondas before that.
A great Car New or Used
I purchased my I30 new in 1999 and it has been a great car. I have enjoyed the great service that I receive and free loaner cars (they are new cars). The car has no mechanical problems in the time that I have owned it and have spoken to other Infiniti owners who are loyal owners as well
Beautiful Styling & Craftsmanship
Beautiful styling in that it is not tail heavy. Attractive 2-tone paint & neutral gray interior with lots of comfort gagets.
The Great Commuter
Has been a great car so far. I needed a commuter car with luxury features and this has proved to be the right choice. Huge truck (for golf clubs), leather, CD, phone, all power, heated seats and it looks good.
choice machine
I have recently purchased the "limited" version of the 99' I30. This vehicle looks very sleek and the ride is extremely comfortable. There is great value in buying this car used with low mileage. Others think the car costs much more than it actually did. The gas mileage leaves a bit to be desired, but the comfort and look make up for it plus more.
Bought used 1999 I30-T
Just got it last week, very nice full loaded car ,good ride, good power and handling, great interior, except the Bose Stereo is not that good at all, they should stick to home theater systems.Would not buy it new,too much money at $30-$35K,got mine for $17,500 with 24,000 miles on it and minus a few scratches its in brand new condition.
owner-user
This vehicle has been dependable and has no surprises with reliability of starting or stopping. It is equally at home on the interstate as well as in high volume city driving. Is is well designed and I think that it looks and feels like a well conceived and well built machine. In spite of higher than average annual driving, it is still rattle free.
top value
I purchased a 1999 i30 with 28000 miles on it after much research. The cost value ratio on this vehicle surpassed the Lexus e300,mb e320 and the saab 95.The reliability factor is extremely high on the i30 and along with the cost value ratio was the other single most important factor in my decision to purchase this model.
Great car for the money
I just purchased a 99 I30 and I love it, the car itslef is a head turner. Leather seats are comfortable, the speed and pick up is amazing. Bought it used with 36000 miles on it and a few items missing inside, but I went to the dealership and took out a small mortgage to replace them (just kidding), now the car is in mint like condition.
nice car
my family has been driving this car for about 2 years now (35000 miles) and we have not experienced a single mechanical or cosmetic problem. Great commuter car (25mpg) with heated seats, temperature control and bose stereo. I consider this a luxury car for midgets, anyone over about 5ft 10in has very limited space to move. interior materials are much nicer than a GTP and the i30 costs alot less than the 325i. I have never regretted myself buying the i30. However I still find myself dreaming of driving a convertible with the top down on a curvy road just as the sun is setting after a beautiful day. that i would trade my i30 for.
99 Limited very fun
Bought this for $10500 out the door and can easily say this is an excellent deal. It has high mileage at 81000, but the engine and tranny are both very smooth. My brother has an 03 Maxima SE, and I find both cars very similar. I like my interior a lot better of course, but mine is obviously slower. The pro lem is is that both receive the same gas mileage, even though the Maxima has a bigger engine with more HP. Overall, I love this car, and think it's one of the best investments I've ever made.
99 I30 Ltd
2nd owner--previously a leased car. I have owned it over 1 year and mostly still enjoy the drive and handling.
I30
I bought my infinity lexus I300 and the toyota avalon and have been very happy except I wish it set up a little higher. I had a van before. Had heard nothing but praise about the 3 liter engine and it is great. I had to replace the starter at 75,000 miles but thats been all. It also gets great gas mileage 20-22 around town and 28- 32 on the highway. Don't see how anyone could ask for much better. I also use reg except around every 5 th tank I use premium.
This is one great ride
I had been looking for my next used car from my usual list - honda, toyota, subaru, etc. when I spied a '96 I30 on the lot. I had never owned a Nissan product, but really liked it's lines, so I took it for a ride. It was love at first ride. I ended up buying a '99 Touring and really love it. It has 114,000 miles but drives like new. The drivetrain is quiet and smooth, yet packs some real get-up-and-go power. In the 3,000 miles I've logged, the oil level has not dropped so much as a hair. Mileage is consistently 22 MPG using regular gas and 70% backroads, 30% highway. I'm not a rich man, but feel like one when I'm driving it. The nicest car I've owned.
Get up and go go
The ride is smooth, car has some suprisingly serious get up and go, and the interior is very comfortable. The only downside is body style changed in 2000 and became more stylish. Mechanically this car is every bit as reliable as a Honda Accord, but in my opinion looks better and drives more comfortably.
Great car!
Great vehicle! Fun to drive, esp. w/manual tranny. Only complaint: clutch burned out @ 57500 miles, and I don't ride it. But Infiniti covered > 1/2 the cost, even though warranty expired 2 mos. ago.
I-30 is very good in Entry Level Luxury
I recently baught this vehicle and I am very happy about my decision. Best value for your money, when you want to ride in a luxury car.
I30t Owner
I leased this vehicle and then purchased it.The reliability, performance, are great.A slight wind noise is a little bothersome. I drive 80/20 hwy/cty and have beenaveraging 22.5 mpg, using super gasoline. As far as maint.goes I am poor on it and still no problems.
A perfect 10 (almost) !!
I bought my i30t a little over 3 months back with 52K miles on it. After 3 months and another 4K miles, I am still in awe with it! The engine is silky smooth with a great acceleration. I think its the great torque that lets the car cruise at 65mph with less than 2500 rpm on the Tachometer. All in all its been a great car with just enough pep and just enough class and just enough style for me to fall in love with it...nothing over done, nothing left out (except for a few inches for my legs)
Best Bet for the Money
Any cars made by Nissan are great for the money. Infiniti I30 compaired to a Lexis E 300 is more car for the money. Lexis...YOU PAY FOR THE NAME The engines have more power in Altma,Maxima, and Infiniti. This is my 2nd I30, I have a 1999 Limited. I also had a 95 Maxima and a 97 Altima. These cars will out last any USA car. ANd the look better too.
Love at first sight
The car has a solid and comfortable ride. Handling is very responsive. It's a nice marriage of the two. Fuel economy has been disappointing. Lots of nice extra's such as heated seats, auto adjusting rear view mirrors, versatile heat & air controls. Not as much thought went into the design of the interior ie small glove box & small storage container in arm rest as well as small openings for beverages. Rear seats are comfortable & roomy but trunk space was greatly sacrificed. Overall, this is one fun car!
My first luxury car
I was in the market for a new car ever since my dodge neon went into early retirement after 5 years of service. I was originally considering a lexus GS 300, Lexus ES 300, or an Acura 3.5 RL. But then I saw this black 1999 I30 on the lot of a local used car lot and was impressed by it. I quickly purchased it and I am glad I did. Its 190 hp v6 feels as powerful as the 227 hp v6 in the newer I30s. The gauges and interior are similar to the newer I30s. Even with rising fuel costs this car can take about $45.00 worth of gas. The Bose stereo is okay but lacking compared to the newer Maximas and I30s. Overall a great value for a low mileage car under $10,000
Love it!
I bought my i30 used and have had it for just about a year now. I absolutely LOVE IT! The transmission is the smoothest of any v6 I've driven to date. Besides a strange rattling noise that went away as quickly as it came, I have had no problems with it. The car is a pure joy to drive.

I 30 wins my vote
This car is my ninth Nissan/Infinity product. Each gets better than the next. The car rides like my g-friends 528 BMW with the same acceleration and comfort with more room. I personally believe these cars are the best dollar for dollar value on the road. The only maintenance I have had in 14 years is to get an oil change and rotate the tires. That's value!!
Ok car for commute....till it isn't
Bought the car with 59k miles and within months I have spent just as much on maintenance as I did on the car. In addition to some worn out struts, various sensors went out and check engine light came on, gas mileage is nowhere near as good as I was hoping, and while a decent ride it is a bit too soft at highway speeds. That all said, great visibility, everything works including A/C and she does have ok pickup for an older V6. Hoping she will do me well for a lot longer and plan to update my review once I get to 100k. UPDATE: Never made it to 100k. Spent about 10k in repairs on various bits that kept dying and gave up on it, trading it in for a newer, more reliable daily driver. Sad, because it was comfortable, quiet and good enough fun to drive. But just an abysmal unreliability. And this one was in great condition when I bought it at 59k, spared no expense to make everything perfect. Just can't keep having a lot of the more expensive bits going. Oh well, so much for all the rave reviews I read before getting this one.
