Works Well
So far, we are pleased with the vehicle. The car isn't particularly powerful or sporty handling, but it drives well enough to be competitive. It is gas thirsty for such a small engine. The car does have an excellent array of safety features and the new interior design is attractive. Interior space is very good, and, at 6'4", I appreciate the headroom and center console positioning.
very refined suv
a much better design then the earlier years and one of the best looking suv's on the market today.

Catalytic Converter Gone Already?
I was first impressed, but quickly disappointed. After owning the vehicle for 2 weeks, the rear right tail light had built up condensation. Then the check engine light came on and found out that the Catalytic converter was bad....how can that be? I do not even have 8 thousand miles on the vehicle and I am dumping it. Oh yeah...one more thing...the stupid visor on the passengers side fell completely off...just hanging by a few wires.
Fuel mpg
This model vehicle is not getting the mileage I was told I would get. At 3000 miles I called the dealer and told him I was getting 19.1 hwy mile per gallon. She told me I would have to have about 6000 to get the miles that was on the sticker. At 6000 miles i called her and she told me it would get better after 8000 mile. I knew something was not right. I took it to the dealer and had a diagnostic check and everything was within the parramimeters of the manufactorers specs. I now have 11000 miles on the car and I am getting 19.8 hwy. My sticker said 19 city and 25 hwy. A dealer in Ohio said I would not get any better. I would not reccomend this car for fuel mileage the 2008sticker 17 and 23
Nice ride, but whats with the headlights
I don't know if its just us, but in 45,000 miles we have replaced (3) foglamps and (5) low beam headlamps ... what is the problem ? otherwise, i have no complaints ... but it is a problem that needs to be resolved by Hyundai
Great Car!
We bought our Santa Fe because we needed more room for a new baby. We like the built-in storage in the back and the fold down rear seats. Wish it had more storage space for toys, diaper bag, etc. but overall a great car! The only time it's been back to the dealership has been for oil changes. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone because it has a lot of standard features you can't get from similar SUVs unless you pay a lot more.
Not comfortable to drive
I cannot get comfortable in the driver's seat. I love everything about it except driving it! Have had to replace tires too soon because of an alignment problem. Noticed the new tires wearing and checked the alignment and it was out just a tiny bit, don't know why my tires are wearing on the inside. There is a clunking noise under the front. I feel like something is going to fall off. I'm thinking of trading it for a Forester. It has 65k miles on it and hasn't given me any real problems and it was great in the snow. Average 22 mpg, maybe 25 on interstate. I hate climbing in this vehicle. I just cannot get the seat adjusted to fit the steering wheel comfortably. It has great brakes and radio.
Lemon.
My 2007 hyundai Santa Fe with 134,000 has just been deemed dangerous to drive. The frame is severely rusted. No CD player and 2 of electric door locks have not functioned since 32,000 miles. I used my life savings to purchase this vehicle and it was driven significantly less than 10,000 miles/yr. Maintenance was performed as recommended. Lots of other issues too. Matthew's Hyundai refused to do an oil change on 7/12/22 because of dangerous frame condition. Said it appeared there were no drainage holes put in frame so water just sat and rusted out frame.

Please some lemon aid
My 2007 Santa Fe has 135,000 miles on it. I purchased new and have driven it less than 9000 miles per year. All maintenance as suggested was performed. I took vehicle into Matthew's Hyundai on 7/12/22 for an oil change. They refused to do it because the frame was rotted and it was dangerous to drive. Possibly because there were no signs of drain holes in frame and water just sat and rotted it out. Also my cd player and 2 windows have not functioned since 32000 miles. No warranty. At 127101 miles 4 new Toyo tires were purchased at Vision dealer. At that time Jeremy Patton Lic #4XU6 told me this vehicle should last 200,000 miles at least. Guess he was mistaken. Hyundai of America has been contacted and they gave me an unfair buy back figure of $8220.

transmission failure at 9 years
transmission failed less than 10 year. Had to replace it for $3500. It has 130k mileage now, with a market value slightly higher than the cost. Hunydai custom service does not care.
