Love this Hyundai Hybrid it’s very quiet and fuel efficient, I’ve been getting around 35mpg here in WNY with temperatures in the teens, during the summer I’ve been getting near 40 mpg. This vehicle is very quite and it’s hard to feel the transition from EV to motor. UPDATE: Nothing to dislike just a nice quiet vehicle which is delivering 44mpg on a regular basis. Looking forward to the redesign 2024

Great Vehicle for the Money

2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid Limited 4dr SUV AWD (1.6L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric hybrid 6A)

Hybrid Limited has tons of features, everything on my wish list. Fit, finish and materials are top notch. Materials not quite up to a Lexus or BMW but at least $15K less. Averaging about 30MPG, hoped for a little better but still great for SUV this size. Love the infotainment display and buttons on center console. Seat heating should be on side bolsters not just seat bottom. But very minor complaints considering all features and high quality.

I bought this car because it’s comfortable, quiet, and efficient. The rife is very smooth and the cabin is quieter than any other car I’ve had. It’s way better than my former 2000 CRV in those areas. I’ve been averaging 41mpg, but I drive in a way that maximizes my efficiency, to me it’s like a game to get the best mileage. Still, the car has good acceleration when it’s needed. The interior is very nice, the seats are comfortable, and the cargo space is better than other models I looked at. One complaint is the wireless charger, which charges VERY slowly heats my iphone up to high levels, I don’t use it anymore. Also, the vertical charging slot is a convenient use of space, but looks like it could attract coins or debris. The hybrids are hard to find, I wanted the limited but could only find one SEL within 300 Nile’s of my home. However, the SEL has most of the features I wanted. The styling, especially in the front end, can be polarizing, but I like it. Overall it’s a great car and I’ve been very happy with it.

A safety concern

My red Santa Fe is beautiful to look at and I'm impressed with the fuel economy of my hybrid limited. It also has a very smooth ride and comfortable seats. The concern is with my electronics. They do not like hot days... from the tech screen to my hatch being stuck open when it was 110 degrees outside... the heat can make electronics act up. The worse problem has been with the FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE. It has gone off a number of times when no other cars are even near me! It is a danger because it happens when you least expect it. You will be driving along with lots of distance from cars around you and suddenly, the steering wheel stiffens dramatically and the car feels out of control for a few seconds... it is very scary for the driver. I believe this issue will cause a crash sooner or later for someone. I wish I had known about this issue before I bought the car. It would have changed my purchase. From my research on line, this is not something that the dealer has any luck in fixing. Please be aware this will be an issue with Santa Fe if you choose to go with this choice. UPDATE! In addition to the forward collision going off without any warning... please be sure to test drive this car at low speeds below 5 mph in a parking lot and press on the brakes... my car brakes are annoyingly "grabby" at slow speeds... when going at a slow speed and I barely press lightly on the brake to come to a stop ... the next thing I know, the car will act like I am slamming on the brakes! It's so annoying and is so bad for my neck... I'm serious... please be sure to try it a number of times in a parking lot to be sure that your car does not do this. From my research this is due to the Hyundai hybrid braking system... because of the braking issues, the forward collision problems, and the horribly small and limiting door storage in all doors... I had to lower my rating and suggest others to check out the Toyota Crown and the Toyota Venza before choosing this SUV. I'm super sad that I did not know about the Crown before buying this suv.

I've been looking for a Santa Fe Hybrid for a year, and finally found one at a nearby dealer. Someone else had ordered with a substantial down payment, but then declined when the vehicle came in. Dealer offered to me, under sticker, no market adjustment, reasonable trade in - so I had to buy. I got the Limited - it has everything. All in all - I love it. Mileage is a little lower than advertised, but I've been doing mainly highway driving for the first month. I think it will settle down to low 30's. It is Lexus like - I've had a Lexus since '97, until now. I get the same feeling of competence. It's pretty big for a mid size. Quick, with so many bells and whistles - I'm still learning. People stare at it as they walk by. So far, so good.

I Liked It So Much That I Bought A Second Hyundai

I did a lot of research and it came down to a Honda CR V Hybrid or the Santa Fe Limited Hybrid, I went with the Santa Fe. They are very close but the Santa Fe offered so many standard creature comforts that many were not even offered in the Honda. And those that were really jacked up the price. Add in the better free maintenance package ( 3 yrs vs 2 yrs for the Honda ) and the much better warranty I had to go with the Santa Fe. I'm very impressed with the quality of this SUV. The ride is smooth and very quiet even when in the ICE mode, shifting is smooth and I really like the shift by wire feature. Because I take long road trips for vacations, the search feature on the navigation system is very much appreciated and most importantly, accurate. In fact, all the options offered on the information screen are very usefull. I've saved a lot of money with the gas price listing. The cargo space is huge and the back seats are easy to fold down with just a push of a button. Reclining back seats plus having them heated was an option I couldn't turn down. 2 weeks after I bought the Santa Fe my wife's KIA Forte was stolen and I didn't even hesitate when thinking about what her next car would be. We went back to out Hyundai dealership, looked around and she spotted a blue AWD Kona that she really liked. Given the reputation of Hyundai and my own personal experience we bought it the same day. Hyundai also has a service called Bluelink that I think is truly the bees knees. It allows you to do a lot of options to your car right from your smartphone. The basic lock / unlock feature plus a locator feature among other neat options. It's free for the first 3 years and then a minimal amount every month thereafter. I owned a Honda CR V ( EX L non hybrid) for 6 years which I used as a trade in. I have nothing bad to say about the CR V. But when I compared them 1 : 1, the Santa Fe just seemed like the better overall deal. I was very impressed with the Honda but I have to say, I'm equally impressed if not more so with the Santa Fe.

Excellent Car - only one in its class

Love this car. Exceptionally equipped at this price point. I got the Limited which is better equipped than any competitor within 10k. I suppose it could have slightly higher end finishes on the interior but the interior is still nice. The drive is perfectly adequate. I bought this for the size/mpg year trade off. And. It really is the only car directly in its class. More cargo space than all of its assumed competition and much less money than vehicles only barely larger

I have had the 2022 hybrid SEL for 5 months now. I think the interior with the black stitched leather is beautiful. I have great leg room in the backseat, and great cargo room in the trunk. It has great pick up while In sport mode . And I’m averaging excellent gas mileage! Most trips average between 35-42 mpg. I’ve even hit 48 mpg a few times! My only complaint is the insanely obnoxious warning bell that the Hybrid has even the vehicle is in reverse. It is so loud and can be rather embarrassing. It sounds like you’re backing up a FedEx truck. And there is no way to turn this off, except cutting the wire In your grill. Hyundai should do something like the Toyota RAV4 hybrid. They have a whirling sound. Overall this is one of the best vehicles I’ve ever had. Infant my partner likes this better than my Mercedes GLB.

2022 Santa Fe Hybrid with 6,700 miles. Total system failure. Now in the shop for 36 days and still no fix. Hyundai USA is ignoring my case and request for refund under VA lemon law. Time to get an attorney. Seems this is a recurring problem with Hyundai corporate care. Think twice.

My Santa Fe Hybrid drives like a dream. It sits up high and drives smoothly on 19 inch wheels. The Stormy Sea shimmery blue color is exactly what I wanted. The unique grill and body lines are gorgeous! The interior is roomy and extremely comfortable with plenty of leg room. This is my first hybrid. As a conscientious nature lover, I’m so happy that I can drive over 500 miles without filling up the gas tank. It has all the power and pick up I need with the quiet engine a hybrid provides, and I appreciate.
