Steering vibrates and constantly pulls to the left. Wind noise also is so bad and gets worse and worse. Regretful buy

Old school. Don't waste your money

I was pleased with the Palisade Calligraphy when we bought it last September (2022). It was comfortable inside, had some great features and we got it at sticker price. Then we started driving it. I noticed that sometimes the transmission was hesitant to move the car, but I thought this was because it was needing broken in. Not so. Every time the car was in Comfort mode of Smart mode, it was like I put my foot on the gas and the car had to think about what was happening. It started off slowly unlike any other car I've ever had, and I had to push the gas pedal harder to make it move. Then it took off! Imagine a giant rubber band holding the car back as it tried to move forward, then the ban bursts and your foot is on the gas pedal then it shoots off. That's what driving this car was like. I looked at some YouTube videos, and two testers found the same thing! It wasn't my imagination. Me putting the foot down all the time just to get it going had me averaging 11 mpg. One day, I was sitting at the traffic lights with the brake hold function on. When I hit the gas pedal to move forward, the car put itself into reverse and luckily, before I pushed the pedal too far, I saw the surround camera come in and hit the brake. Then I put it in drive. This could have been a lot worse. This car has a massaging driver's seat. For a while, it stopped working and when I was about to book it in to the shop, it started working again. Then it would come on all by itself randomly. I hate lumbar support on a car, and this was what it would default to when it came on by itself. One thing I disliked was having to go through the stages of putting the windshield wipers into park mode. Instead of being able to lift them like any other car, the hood is too close to them, so you have to press the start button a couple of times and hold the wiper stalk up into the quick wipe mode and hold it there until the wipers move up and stop. Only then can you pull them back. I have never seen such a ridiculous design in my life. But of course, the salesman didn't tell us this before we bought it. So a recall came out for the wipers, saying something like ice and snow would build up behind them and they would stop working. The reason I actually got rid of the car was because I then read that Hyundai plans to recall the car start end of September 2022 for some little electronic plug thing possibly melting and setting fire to the car. They recommend you not park in your garage or near any structure, just in case. (You can Google this). It could also put the car into limp home mode, and anybody who has experienced this before will tell you it can be scary, depending on where you are. If this happens to you, pray you're not in the fast lane on a highway. I believe it affects some brand new Kia's too. As one YouTube tester said, it's like Hyundai put all of the budget for their 2023 Palisade into the interior. But why didn't they put power folding mirrors on? I have it on my other car and it's a nice touch. And they have it on the Korean versions, so why not for the US? This car needs a new engine / transmission and a little bit more quality control and it might be a nice car. If you really want one, try the wiper thing before you buy and see if that little annoyance you can live with. I had to watch a YouTube video on how to get the wipers up. That might not be a deal breaker for you, but for me, the thought of my wife driving the car and it going on fire was enough for me to get rid of it. It's a Toyota for us next.

Unreliable! Don't waste your money!

I bought a 2022 Palisade. It currently has about 31k miles. I had a leak in the seam of my radiator. I was left on the side of the road. The dealership fixed it and a week later, same issue. I also had a small issue with the vent in the back seat. This was my 1st Hyundai and will definitely be my last. If you are on the fence to purchase a Palisade - move on. I've owned mine for 16 months and I would not say this is a reliable car. It has nice bells and whistles but quality is lacking.

Packing a lot in and still riding in style

The calligraphy trim is worth the extra bump in price. The extra features makes the ride a top notch experience. The 7 seater was the better choice over the 8 seater. Having the captain chairs versus the second row bench gave the three children (ages 8-11) flexibility and space. All three play hockey and the third row option to lower one of the seats and still fit a person in the back row gave us the opportunity to get all three hockey bags, three children, and two adults comfortably in the car while still riding in style.

The car over all is great. I owned a 2021. Traded for a 2023. I had a trailer package. Dash clearly has a trailer mode switch. I have had to hire or rent another vehicle to pull my work cart to jobs. And added expense I should not be paying. Dealer keeps kicking the can down the road for a fix to the recall. Buy back my car or get the fix now. I will be looking into what legal options I have soon. As well has a report to State of Florida.
