2013 Hyundai Elantra - Do Not Buy
This is by far the worst purchase I have ever made. The paint began to chip almost immediately followed by the steering wheel and gear shift. Then I got a flat tire and found that the car did not come with a spare tire. When I complained to Hyundai corporate I was told I should have reviewed the window sticker. Forgive me for assuming that the hole where the spare tire should be would contain a spare tire. The dealer did not point this out and they did not offer to sell me one. I hit a small pothole recently and the entire wheel cracked like it was made out of paper. The window sticker they chastised me for not reviewing carefully had incorrect gas mileage. Avoid at all costs.
WORST CAR EVER
I purchased a 2013 Elantra pre-owned car in January of 2014. Since that time there has been 3 recalls on the car. Currently, I have 55,000 miles on my car, and I have had maintenance done on my car more often than what the dealer recommended, i.e., I had the oil changed more often than recommend. Then 2 months ago I heard a ‘pinging’ noise coming from the engine when I accelerated. The noise was caused by ‘scoring’ on the wall of the first cylinder. The solution is a new short block engine from Hyundai. Total repair cost is more than $6,000, plus $350 for a rental car. Thank goodness I purchased a Comprehensive Extended Warrenty for $2,400 when I purchased the pre-owned car. I will NEVER purchase another Hyundai.

Very comfortable and reliable, but kinda scary too.
Great value for money but not a great driver. Bought the car based on "bang-for-the-buck", perceived reliability, economy, and features. Scores on all those points (unlike others here, my dealer-maintained vehicle has had no problems at all.) Mileage is good but not what was advertised (a lot better than my '04 Mazda 3, though.) Defrosters - front and rear - are inadequate. Mirror and seat heaters are great. Only real problem is the handling. The rear end will "step out" when you hit bumps in turns (e.g. expansion joints in highway overpass). It will hop around even on straight-and-level driving over broken pavement. Overall, it's "twitchy". Wife wants it gone as a result.
Glutton for punishment
I love our 2012 Hyundai Elantra GLS SO MUCH, I just bought a SECOND 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS to add to sit beside it. We have 15k on the 2012 and so far so good! The ONLY cars I have ever owned two of (NEVER at the same time), in years of buying cars and owning MANY, was two VW Jettas, two Jeep Grand Cherokees, Two Jeep Wranglers, and two Chrysler Sebring convertibles (I'm a ragtop kinda guy). When I find something I like/works, I tend to stick with it!
Should have kept the 2007
I had a 2007 Elantra with 140,000 mile and only minor problems. My daughter still drives it. 2013 Elantra has been terrible: 1) persistent rough idle 2) the bluetooth, time, radio stations and other electronic gadgets keep resetting almost daily and I have to re-enter everything 3) I lose power steering while backing up. The dealers both say there are no error codes reporting from the car and Hyundai keeps telling me to allow the dealers to handle it.
