2024 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT 4dr SUV AWD (2.5L 4cyl Turbo 8AM)
First let me say that I loved the vehicle for the first 1500 miles. Then things started going sideways. My car has been at the dealer for over 65 days with no timetable for a repair in sight. Transmission on the vehicle was damaged by a defective driveshaft, or an improperly installed one (dealership hasn’t been helpful).
So I’ll review what I liked and didn’t prior to the car being out … of service.
PROS: Technology package: is comprehensive and easily more advanced than most other models.
Space: A ton of space If you fold down the 3rd row.
Ride Quality: I loved the ride on the 18” wheels and it took road imperfections with no problem.
CONS: wireless phone charger: sits directly in the sun and will overheat your phone and/or blind you for a second if the sun catches your phone right.
Digital Controls: A/C and heat controls are dim and very hard to see during the day.
DCT Transmission: the SUV has serious problems backing up any incline, its weight makes trying to reverse up any incline a white knuckle experience as the car will attempt to roll back down the hill aggressively.
2024 seems like a test run for what will most likely be a great 2025 model year. I would suggest waiting for ‘25 when all the new features are refined.
