61,000 Miles on the vehicle and emission control lights come on. Took it to the dealership and was advised that we had to foot the bill for fuel injection repair kit ( all 6 injectors, fuel rail, and gas tank fuel filler cap) to the tune of $1,275. When pressed for more details, they stated and I quote “ This has been an issue on Pilots, we had one last week that had the same failure at 41k Miles, we get 1 every two or three weeks”. Needless to say we left dealership and told them to forget it. Go to the Pilot forums and you will get more incidents of this failure, not to mention transmission issues, which also occurs to the 6 speed. We had transmission issues also. I have a 2011 Tundra with 125k Miles, same injectors, 2007 XC70 with 167k Miles, same injectors, 2002 BMW 525i, 205k Miles, yep you guessed it, same injectors. There should be a class action lawsuit against Honda for this Injector issue. Oh and lastly, Honda extended warranty does not cover the “fuel system”. You have been warned. I WILL NEVER OWN A HONDA AGAIN!

WATER LEAKING INTO THE CAR
I have a Honda pilot 2016 LX model, this is my second Honda car. The experience with this car is horrible. Recently, I noticed the water leaking into the car. During the rain in Fremont, CA, the water went inside the car all the way to the floor mat thru the dashboard. I took the car to the local Honda dealer to fix the leaking problem and inspect the dashboard and the floor. Water leaking could spread the rust quickly and may cause some electrical problem. A week later, I got my car back and within 2 days I noticed the water leaking problem is not fixed. I also noticed the metal inside the car dashboard is rusted. I believe, the service center didn’t inspect the dashboard, floor and find the root cause. Now, the car is at the same service center to fix the same problem. The car has not only this problem, it had other problems like remote key was not working, tail light assembly was broken when I got the delivery, screws in rear of vehicle were stripped, takes too long to stop vehicle completely and ON and OFF smoking while driving. The new car has too many issues, I’m also wondering how this car passed the quality control test and testing for water leaking. My main concern is a safety since I have a newborn baby(5 months old) and a kid. I feel traveling with my family in this car may cause issues like computer failure, sensor failure, etc., so I’m avoiding to drive this car with the family. I don’t recommend this car. Honda Customer Service Honda customer service is also worst. I tried to contact the case manager, but I couldn’t reach him to know the status of the car. After several attempts, I reached him, he was simply saying busy with his work and he couldn’t answer all my questions, just saying “he is not a technical person”. I spent $ 35,000 to buy this car and it’s Honda’s responsibility to clarify all customers queries.

Great product ruined by infotainment system
Do not buy a Honda until they replace the current infotainment system! Screen goes dark randomly and often. Back up camera frequently does not come on. Bluetooth hands free intermittently will not make calls and/or drops calls. Dealer replaced system and new one does exactly same thing! No cooperation from Honda. Honda America representative said they have no fix at the current time. Another representative said it could be my phone--IPhone 6splus or carrier--Verizon. Said it may not be compatible even though it works fine about 50% of the time. Car purchased new and now has only 5000 miles. I have filed for arbitration and Honda has suggested I drop the case and then they may be able to offer some help! I will never purchase another Honda.

Still Less Than Expected
This is the first Honda vehicle I have owned. I previously had an Acura, which I enjoyed other than a dashboard rattle that the dealer could never find and, thus, never eradicate. After some research, it seemed as though the Pilot Elite would essentially get me an Acura MDX while saving some money. Not so fast, as I am finding out. I am not having problems with the 9 speed transmission as others have, and mechanically, everything seems to be okay. However, the interior is not comparable to an Acura, in my opinion. The leather isn't as soft and the dash and door panels, while not plastic, aren't as "cushy" as the Acura. I didn't buy an Acura, so I accept these downgrades. This car reminds me in some ways of the stuff old Detroit (the "Big 3") used to put out. Some things were okay, some not so much. My Elite rattles and vibrates even on pavement with only slight imperfections. Some of the body parts needed aligned. The fan circulating the air for heat and defrost sounds like it has a bad bearing as it squeals when it runs. The dealer won't replace it since it still "works". The navigation unit is weak - it tells the driver to make a turn when the car has already passed the turning point. It seems to be off by about 75 feet. The parking sensors are next to useless and the auto braking for collision avoidance activates for no reason at times. As I said, this is my first Honda and most likely will be my last. I may even trade the car in soon and take the "loss". I traded an Infiniti in on the Elite after being less than overwhelmed with the performance of the Infiniti. I have to say that even "stepping down" from a luxury model to the Honda, the Elite is much less than I expected it to be. And, I don't consider myself all that demanding. Just give me value commensurate with the money I am spending. Unfortunately, this Elite isn't doing that! Update after owning the car for 2 years. Everything above still holds true, except the rattling noise. The dealer found the culprit and was able to correct the issue. However, some additional problems came up. The rear hatch closes on its own - the dealer says a new motor needs installed, but they are on backorder. I guess there are many Pilot owners experiencing a similar problem with the hatch. The car is also hesitating when pulling out from a stop - the dealer says everything is as it should be. Umm - no! As I mentioned in my original review, this is my first Honda. After my experience with this Pilot Elite, I will not be buying another Honda. I may not even look at Acuras either.

I cannot stand the Honda Pilot Touring
I have owned Honda's all my life. This is my 5th Honda, and it will be my last. Words cannot describe how frustrated and disappointed I am with this vehicle. I test drove the lower level version and thought it was great, but it was a huge mistake to upgrade to the Touring. That infotainment system is a joke. I've almost gotten in accidents just trying to use it. Attempting to control the music/volume is a nightmare. Oh, and when we're using maps the passenger has absolutely no control over the music. The 9-speed transmission is terrible. I feel like my neck hurts after driving because all of the jerking around. I am constantly fighting with this car to be in control. God forbid I have to do something quickly, like get around a stopped car with traffic coming, because the car doesn't react quickly to my foot. I despise this car, and we have it for sale, though no doubt will lose a ton of money on it. I'm so glad we're not the only ones having issues. We have registered the complaint with Honda Motor, and have brought it back to dealership a few times, but they are mostly dismissive of our concerns.
