Fantastic
I ordered my car two months before it hit the market. I fell in love with it from the first time I saw it. I can honestly say that this car has saved me many tickets. I have become a much better driver, I love the fact of being rated every time I drive the car. I feel like I am flying a plane.
A fun and classy economy car
I've wanted a hybrid for many years, but I didn't think they would be worth the extra expense. I realized that dealers were going to be more flexible due to the economy so I seriously started looking. I looked at a Prius and Civic Hybrid, but both were a bit pricier than I wanted to pay. The Insight seemed like the best value and I really liked the exterior look better too. The fuel economy displays is probably the best distinctive feature of the car and it really helps you save gas. I'm still learning, but I am averaging 49 mpg over 8k miles. I use the a/c all the time. The car is extremely quiet under normal conditions, almost too quiet.

Great Car
Traded a 2003 Ford Crown Vic in and got this car for my 40+mi commute. It does exactly what Honda says it will, provide excellent fuel economy economically! I can make my commute 4 days on a single tank (80mi per day, RT) where my Crown Vic needed to refuel everyday. Get Cruise Control, as maintaining the car's delicate sense of "good" vs "bad" fuel economy is a challenge if you're using your foot only!
Try it, you'll like it.
I considered buying a Prius given the deals currently available. But, after driving an Insight I bought it the same day. Not to say that the Prius isn't a good bargain at the moment, I just found the Insight to be a better overall car. Yes... a little smaller, mileage not quite as good. On the other hand, more comfortable driving position and much more fun to drive. Took it on a 700 mile trip this past weekend. Quite comfortable for myself, my wife and one 8 year old. Put it in sports mode for the Long Island Expressway and you're good to go!
M3 to Insight Convert, Yes, True.
I have LOVED and own BMW M3s, S4's, TT's, for the past ten years. You guys say: So...whah? You gonna try an Insight??? Yeah, I drove it and dug it. This car surprised and delighted me, quick, fun, great cargo.
