I borrowed Dad’s recently purchased Honda CRV EX-L 2018 to drive from AZ to MO. The vehicle drove great, no tuning knob on the radio is disappointing, front seat was not that comfortable after 10hrs.of driving, gas economy was awesome. I got 40 MPG the 1st day, 2nd day, fought the wind all day so the mileage was not near as good, still in the 30’s. The SUV was fully packed inside. We ran thru a muddy mess on the road & the mud is thrown up inside door panels. Going through the car wash, the soap doesn’t get the mud off & the soap/water pooled in the rubber seals around the inside of door. I reached out to American Honda & they sent me to a dealership that was of no help at all. I like the safety features; auto braking, various camera views for backing out, lane departure, lane assist, blind spot monitoring, etc.My dad’s CRV is 16 months old had the battery go totally dead & we had to replace it. We live 100 miles from the nearest Honda dealer so did not buy the replacement battery from Honda as required a tow/jump to get to a nearby repair shop. Very disappointing- hoping my battery does not experience the same issue when it is a few months older. Searching online reflects this has been a common problem- short battery life on Honda CRV’s. The battery will totally die if the vehicle takes only short trips due to living in a small town, etc. or if the car sits for 3 weeks or so. It is recommended that you drive an hour a wk. to maintain the battery to start the vehicle. Honda has a 3 year warranty that covers the battery but a new battery will do the same thing. Apparently need hr. drive for alternator to effectively charge battery. Appears Toyota RAV 4 has same issue. Wish I knew this at purchase of my new CR-V in 2018. This really needs to be addressed & folks need to at a minimum know this information to avoid being stranded in the middle of nowhere. I got a jump start from Honda on a car at 8,000 miles, vehicle 18 months old, and drove it for 30 minutes and next day, dead battery again!

Best Car for Us!

We bought the EX-L CRV 2018 a few months ago after selling our Prius. When first looking at SUVs we narrowed down the field to the Toyota Rav4, the CRV and the Subaru Forester. Since my husband has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's and both of us are turning 70, we were looking for features that will benefit us in the future. The CRV was the only one offering the features we wanted such as settings for driver's seat and outside mirrors. It was the only one of the three to offer the mirror setting as well as the seat. It also had the easiest to read digital speedometer. The Rav4 did not even have a digital speedometer available on any of it's models. And don't forget Apple Car Play! Love it. Add in the auto-opening trunk lift, easy to enter height of the car, leather seats, roomy interior, cruise control that almost allows the car to drive itself, ... And now for the cons: gas milage is just ok. We get about 27 mpg in the city. Horrible sounding engine! Sounds like a sick lawn mower. I do not drive like a 90 year old and so have to take off ECON in order to get the thing going from a complete stop. Otherwise, so glad we purchased the CRV.

Have owned our new CRV for about a month and so far we are still in the honeymoon phase = still madly in love. Very comfortable front seats, great safety technology, smooth handling and great breaking. Wife tried the adaptive cruise control last weekend and it worked fantastically, even when the truck in front did an emergency braking. Our CRV stayed a very reliable distance regardless of his speed and when he braked hard to avoid an accident, the CRV immediately recognized it and braked us to a smooth but quick stop. Very impressed. We have set up 3 collapsible storage boxes in the rear and they fit snugly yet provide great storage and separation for groceries.

I love my new Honda CRV-EXL (but I loved my 2008 CRV too!). The CRV is easy to drive and park & the power front seats help make them very comfortable. I especially like the many new safety features including blindspot & lane departure warnings. The interior also has many new features but the ones I appreciate the most are using the phone for navigation through the display on the dashboard with voice commands and auto liftgate opening and closing. I know push button start & keyless entry have been around for a long time but this is my first experience and I'm finding it very beneficial to not have my keys out all the time. As a bonus, my dog really likes the A/C vents in the back here in Florida. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and recommend the CRV to anyone looking for a car in this size range
