Used 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid 4dr Sedan (1.3L 4cyl gas/electric mild hybrid 5M) Consumer Reviews
Love my new Hybrid
I bought this new Civic Hybrid due to my 100 mile daily round trip commute. The Civic Manual Tranny has taught me to how to drive again. Shifting is EASY! The prompt light tells me the optimum time to shift. I love the on board MPG calculators. I filled up after the fist week. I had 450 Miles and filled up with 10 gallons of gas. I average about 70 MPH on the freeway. I tested the Civic one day averaging about 60 MPH, I got a 50.2 MPG. Awsome. This Civic lacks some zip and pickup if you follow the prompts, but has it if you need to pass in a pinch. Interior is excellent, power windows, cruise, CD Stereo, side airbags and even a climate control stystem. I love my Civic Hybrid!
Fun Plus Economy
This car does get the advertised economy. We have averaged 46.7 MPG for 21k miles. Trips often are 50+. The car is comfortable, agile, and peppy, assuming you are in the right gear. Manual shifts well, clutch is great. Instruments are clear and the MPG bars give you something extra to watch in boring traffic. I have only two complaints. First the back seat won't fold down. Second, they should have a hatchback version for versitility plus economy. All in all, a great car.

It saved my life
I had this car only two months and was extremely happy with it. A freak accident threw me into a concrete retaining wall at 60 mph, with impact on the front right half of the car. The entire front of the car was smashed flat and the engine block split. I walked away in tact with only two scratches, a chest bruise from the seatbelt, and a burn on my hand from the airbag. I loved the car before...it handles like a dream and is very comfortable to drive. But I'm going straight out to buy another, because I know first hand how well made they are! I wouldn't be here otherwise.
Buy One
I've had this auto for about three months and it's a great car. I set the odometer when i left the dealer and so far it's showing 43.1 for all of the driving that we've done (4500.) The car rides well, has plenty of pep, and is very quiet. The only minus in this equation is road traction in snow and ice. Traction and control was scary until i bought a set of snow tires. I wasn't made aware of the need until i drove it in snow for the first time. I nearly quit driving it. Once the new tires were on it felt like it could climb a wall! No problems since.
I don't get good mileage
Everything about this car has been very good except the gas mileage. I consistently get 36 mpg. I drive on the highway about 45 miles each way to work. Needless to say, mileage is important to me and I don't get anything near the sticker.
