Car looks great, like new. Well maintained, always garaged. Reliable with approximately 26,000 miles driven. Gas mileage 26 - 35 mpg. Additional work; key fob batteries, new battery, interior air filter. Regular routine maintenance performed at Honda dealership. Update on June 15, 2022 // mileage at 29,000; ongoing maintenance at the dealer; no unusual repairs since the problem with the starter motor. All is well!

This is my 3rd Accord, purchased new and driven very conservatively, by a low mileage driver. Hondas in general have a great reputation because they are well priced and very dependable. This generation was engineered for fuel economy as a major goal, so it was slightly downsized and lightened from the previous generation. These are the areas where they made changes for gas mileage, the tires are low rolling resistance type and give less traction in the wet, the interior is less comfortable as they removed padding, and the change to 0w 20 weight oil means the car now consumes about 1/2 quart in 3,000 miles. (which is the new normal as far as I can see.) The one other annoyance is the rear brakes, that make a clicking noise upon initial use. This is also normal. With the popularity of SUV's overtaking regular cars, resale won't be as strong as they have been historically but if your buy and hold it for 7 years or more it is a non factor

I have had my new Accord EX-L 4cyl for two weeks now and have been very happy with it. The car is roomy, well appointed and the fit and finish is excellent. The CVT that mimics a regular shifting transmission is excellent and the 4cyl has plenty of performance. On my first road trip, I averaged 41.7mpg going and 39.8mpg returning. Admittedly, that was driving @60mph, which for me is fast enough. At 70 years of age, I'm in no hurry to get somewhere...just getting there is enough. My only negative is the ride. UPDATE.....It's almost 4 years since my review on the Accord EX-L. Overall, I've found it to be an excellent vehicle and have never had any issues that required a visit to the dealer, other than regular oil changes. Now, the Accord lease has ended and was turned in. Someone got an excellent vehicle. While not bad, it is definitely on the sporty side. The amazing thing is that my insurance only went up .40 cents over my older car with the exact same coverage. Very happy here. Update: In my 2014 Honda Accord EX-L, I never had any service or mechanical issues. Put gas in it, change the oil and drive it. Love the CVT transmission and the way it mimics a 6 speed auto. The 4cyl engine is more than adequate as it provides great acceleration and passing abilities. IMO, the 6cyl, while being a wonderful engine, is overkill for the vast majority of people. Great car.

Everything I wanted - a coupe that rides like a sedan, trunk big enough for 3 golf bags, rear seat folds down to transport longer items, sun roof, seat warmers - love most everything except the paint is BAD - flakes off and chips easily, even in weird places (like around the rear window, inside the jams, etc.) If it weren't for the paint just breaking my heart every time I look at it, I would love this car. The factory rep from Honda was super nasty to me, and didn't even consider my claim. Not a good experience for my first brand-new car. I won't do it again. After 18 months, I traded this car in for a 2013 Accord Coupe. Same bells and whistles, better paint job, better payment.
