May be my last Honda

Jenny, 05/04/2017
2014 Honda Accord EX-L V-6 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 6A)

I bought my 2014 Honda Accord EX-L used with 59,000 miles on it on 2/26/17. Shortly after I purchased it the back up cam started freezing and or clacking out once a week. I would put the car in park, shut it off and restart and it would work, up until last week when it went black for good and hasn't went back. Now all I see are the yellow and orange lines. I'm hearing this is a big issue that new accord owners are having with the back up cam but when I called Honda, they said there is nothing they can do to help. I'm at my wits end, has anyone had any luck?

Honda Accord Sport is an excellent car overall!

Just purchased my '14 Accord Sport in June - have 2,000 miles now and a couple of road trips taken. Excellent handling car with great road manners! My 94 Accord coupe was my best car ever - this 14 continues that tradition of a solid, well built and handling car. The CVT is great and unobtrusive - the computer simulates a conventional automatic. Great MPG and very responsive throttle. Supportive seats (love the power seat and lumbar) and a very spacious and comfortable cabin round out the package. I traded out of an 11 Altima and its the best choice I have made. No complaints about this car other than a suggestion: the Sport needs a better sound system with more speakers...

Pleased with 2014 Accord Coupe EX-L Nav 2.4

2014 Honda Accord EX-L 4dr Sedan w/Navigation (2.4L 4cyl CVT)

I purchased this car with 20K miles. I use it as the family do-everything workhorse, everything from grocery trips and around-town errands to long-distance trips. I also have a 2006 Honda Ridgeline for the real heavy-duty tasks and an older Lexus SC430 for weekend fun. The Accord does everything I ask of it. It is reliable, efficient, economical, comfortable, and looks great. I might also add fun to the list, since the Accord Coupe handles very well for an all-arounder, and accelerates well even with the 4 cylinder automatic. I have had a few Lexus and Acura cars, and I would have to say that the materials, fit, and finish of this car compares well with those. There are a few tiny details that could have been done slightly better (such as auto lights, night rear view mirror), but there are also a few features that are above and beyond what you'd expect. The keyless locking and ignition, passenger heated seat, trunk protective liner, lane-change camera, lane watch sensor, and others are examples of things you get but might not expect for the price. Overall, I'd recommend the Accord Coupe as a solid, safe, fun buy. Since it's really the only coupe out there, resale should be solid if you change your mind later.

Strut Problem

Oscar Villarreal, 11/02/2018

I had the dealer inspect the car for tire noise at 35000 miles. They inspected the rear struts and determined that the problem was due to tire cupping and not the struts since they show no leakage. I replaced the tires at 41000 miles and the noise problem was solved, at 57000 miles the noise is back. At this time, I had the tires inspected by the tire dealer, and again the tire noise was due to cupping. In my opinion, the rear struts are the problem.

Navigation system is very slow

D. Huynh, 02/21/2017

I noticed the built in navigation system is quite a bit slow compare to the stand-alone unit. The display is confusing when you get to the intersection. Worst is when I got to a stop sign, the display just froze because it needed more time (probably about 10 seconds or more) to figure it out and to update the display. I couldn't just stop there and waited until the display is update. I got lost 3 times in a trip and waste about 15 minutes because I had to turn around. The system is good if you travel in high-ways or big roads, when you got into small roads that is when it got screw-up. Even on the high-way, a few times, the exit display gets update just as you got very close or passed the exit! You don't have time to react. The problem I think is the system is TOO SLOW and perhaps the software needs to be update. The conclusion is this system is unsafe (you need to spend more time to figure thing out or you have to make a quick move to get into the right exit), waste your time and gas because you have to turn around. If I have to give it a grade, it would be between a D and an F
