Used 2020 GMC Canyon Consumer Reviews
After the mini van years.
Had mini vans for 24 years. Didn't want to trade it in for anything less than a truck

Won't buy GM again
Bought new, 2019 GMC Canyon Denali 4x4 with 3.6-liter engine. Issues started immediately with bumping noise when going over rough roads or speed bumps. Dealer said they all do that. Next was the shuttering transmission at 30,000 miles. Dealer flushed transmission and problem went away for 10,000 miles then shuttering again. Out of warranty. Around 40,000 miles is when the intermediate steering shaft started rattling. Radio and GPS stop working every now and then. At 90,000 miles the tilt steering jammed in one position and can't be moved. I've owned GM products for as long as I've been driving which is over 45 years but I'm done with them. Will check out Toyota when I get rid of these two trucks. Silverado, Canyon and Camaro under my carport right now but no more. Some of the issues like intermediate steering shaft rattle and transmission shuttering I have had with GM products before, but they won't resolve them. They just keep selling the same old crap.

It's been a love/hate relationship - soon to end.
Having traded up from a Chevy Colorado, I found a lot to like about the GMC Canyon Denali - The ride is very good, there's plenty of power from the V6, and overall it's just nicer. It's a practical and nice looking truck that meets our needs for a compact PU — however, as far as reliabililty and repairs, it just plain sucks. Fortunately, the warranty covered all the initial issues: Steering wheel replaced, heater core replaced, differential replaced all before 36K. Since then, I've replaced the serpentine belt and A/C compressor. Now looking at replacing the oil lines and radiator, and it hasn't even hit 50K. Having owned GM products for most of the last 30 years, it's easy to see what a huge drop there's been in the quality of the build, parts and quality control. After this, time to shop the other brands.

Love my Denali Canyon
So there are two things I want from a truck. 1. Hard work towing and hauling. 2. Have fun driving it. My 2019 Canyon Denali is exactly that. And this truck looks good. It feels snug driving country curves and has no prob on long trips. It is not as decked as some other Denali. I would have liked adaptive cruise. But so far so wonderful.
Looks great/Drives great.
I have had vehicle for 6 months now and only real issue has been fuel system slow to take fuel. Dealer figured out problem as faulty fuel filler neck. Fit and finish almost perfect and very pleased with paint finish. over all very happy.
