Used 2020 GMC Canyon Consumer Reviews
Love It - But Not Really a Denali
As far as the mid-size trucks go, the Canyon Denali is tops in the luxury department. However, as nice as it is, I don't feel like it lives up to the expectation one should have when purchasing a Denali. Something as simple as having to physically insert a key in the ignition feels antiquated. Having to press unlock on the key fob, versus the truck sensing it's presence and unlocking when you pull the handle is missing. The leather seats are quality until you look for adjustments. Everything with the base of the seat is electric but the tilt for the seat back is an old mechanical handle. Speaking of seats, there is no position memory at all. Not only does it not sense your key fob and return to your driver specific settings, there are no memory settings at all. Manually readjust everything with driver changes. The leather work inside is very nice, but there is still too much plastic in obvious areas where other luxury packages would include leather. The woodgrain inserts are not wood and are VERY obviously plastic. Don't misunderstand. Relative to all other mid-size offerings, it is still a very nice truck and I do not regret the purchase at all. However, it simply falls short of the look/feel/quality that should come with the Denali badge.

Fun to drive
Bought new 2019 All Terrain V16 extended cab in December, special ordered from factory, took 8 weeks til delivery, Drives better then my 2003 Tahoe. Gets decent gas mileage for a truck, 18-19 around town, 23-24 hwy. removed air dam and gave it 2” lift in front. So far no complaints, 8K miles.

6 Weeks and DONE!
I had my FIRST, brand new, 2020 Colorado for 4 weeks when I noticed it began to jerk. My husband tried convincing me it was because it was a 4 cyl but no, not even. Two weeks later, it jerked while driving 70 on the highway and I drove it directly to the dealership and demanded a loaner. They had my NEW truck for 4 weeks before informing me it needed a "NEW", new alternator. By this time, I hadn't even made my first truck payment yet. I demanded a replacement vehicle and was told by the repair department manager that that was not possible and GMC does not do that. I wrote a negative review on the dealership, filed a complaint with my credit union loan department then contacted the dealership's general manager directly. Within two weeks, they found me a New 2020 Canyon, transferred my step bars to the new truck, sprayed my bed AND gave me a rubber, sprayed floor lining. I was happy with the replacement and the speed of it but I still have it in the back of my head how the alternator went out on a brand new truck. GMC was always my go to vehicle. Not i question them.
