Great little truck
I love my truck . I bought it brand new and the only repairs or maintenance I've done are regular oil changes with synthetic oil, transmission fluid changes, tires, plugs and wires, and upper and lower ball joints .... plus an oil spray every November. The exhaust system is still original. It doesn't have a speck of rust and I live in Southern Ontario where they salt the bejeebers out of the roads. I'll keep this truck till either it or I fall apart, whichever comes first.
Some people think I'm crazy, but...
Some people think I'm crazy for buying a 2011 Ford Ranger in 2023, but they just don't understand the pure, genuine happiness that you feel when you drive a classic-looking, reliable truck of the old days. Trucks just aren't made the same anymore. These days, they're massive luxury vehicles for rich folks (or poor folks who go into debt to own them). And I strongly dislike the way new trucks look. "They don't make 'em like they used to." This quote really rings true when it comes to trucks, and vehicles in general. I bought this black 2011 Ford Ranger XLT for $17,900. That may seem high, but that's just how the market is in 2023; it is actually considered a fair or even good price according to the KBB. And it sure beats buying a new $60k truck! The one I bought was a one-owner, Tennessee-manufactured, and southern-owned truck with only 50k miles. No rust, low mileage.. this thing is going to last me a VERY long time since I don't do a lot of driving. It'll pay for itself in no time. I have only ever owned 3 Honda Civics up until this point. While I love them, and my 2020 Honda Civic EX is a great practical car for my wife to drive to work, I was filled with pure joy when I first drove this 2011 Ford Ranger on Thanksgiving Day of 2023. I'm 6ft. 2in. tall and I fit like a dream in the truck. I was shocked at how well the truck handled, how tight the braking felt, and how pleasant of a driving experience it was. It is evidently a well-made vehicle. I also love the way the interior looks. With a phone mount to hold your smartphone for navigation, a small Bluetooth steering wheel device (that connects to your phone) to change songs and volume, a cigarette lighter charger with multiple USB ports to charge and power tech, and a USB-powered heating pad... in under $100 dollars, you can turn this truck into a modern-day vehicle with all the amenities you care about. It already has power locks, power windows, and all of the basic stuff. What more do you need? I, personally, HATE when vehicles have tons of technology. In my opinion, more technology can actually make driving less safe. Are there downsides to this truck? Sure - the gas mileage sucks on the 4.0L V6 Rangers. Don't buy this model to do daily 2-hour round trip commutes. But for someone like a homeowner, a local blue-collar business owner, or a tradesman who just needs to zip around town? The gas mileage really isn't that big of a deal, and most big trucks and large SUVs with similar motors get similar gas mileage. People complain too much about gas mileage, but it's a really simple equation. Do you need to drive a lot and use this as your family's primary vehicle? If yes, then don't buy the V6. It's that simple. It just is what it is. To wrap up... You just can't beat the simplistic beauty of this truck. The thing just WORKS. And with regular maintenance, they're known to go 250k+ miles. I think the 2011 Ford Ranger is truly the last real, classic, true compact truck ever made. You may think I'm crazy, but buying this truck was a very thoughtful and purposeful decision.

Reliable & Trusty Little Truck
The Ranger isn't fancy but it certainly provides all the benefits of a truck in a compact size. The ride is a bit stiff but it feels quite stable. I have the 4WD version with a manual transmission and I like the control that I feel I have when driving it.
Good little mini-truck.
Ive owned 3 Rangers since the early 80s, an 1983, 2001 and 2011. All have been reliable, simple light duty trucks when taken care of properly.
