Great Car!
This has been a great car for the two years that I have owned it. The only required warranty work has been to replace a coil that would occasionally cause a stumble that was only noticeable in fifth gear. I am so impressed with this car that I have put my name on the list for the next available 2003 Mustang Cobra. Ford has totally impressed me! This car is so much fun to drive that I look forward to every driving experience in it!
Love my 'stang
I love my convertible. My kids (4 and 5) love it too. There is nothing like cruising down the road with your top down and enjoying life. I have ridden in other convertibles (Sebring) and yuck! I wouldn't trade my Mustang for one. It is comfortable, fun, reliable and most of all a conversation piece wherever I go. Especially in East Tennessee where I live. My car is an Electric Green color and Cleopatra (my car) gets eye-balled coming and going! So anyone that is thinking about getting a Mustang, I would definitely encourage getting a convertible! They are too much fun!

Not my best Ford
Bought from CarMax at 18k miles 1k miles later they rebuilt the rear gear box to try to get rid of the moaning sound between 40 and 50 miles an hour on deceleration. Never worked. At 90k the gear box was rebuilt again because of a constant whir. Let's see, at 70k I got a new front end. Top's starting to leak. Valves tap a lot if you don't keep cleaning the injectors ($$). Travel 150 miles a day at an average 72 miles an hour. Time to clean injectors again and probably replace the egr valve. My 9th Ford and probably my last if Toyota makes a larger truck.
Great summer car
I purchased my Mustang about 2 years ago in Florida and then moved back north. This car has been wonderfully reliable taking me to and from Florida. My only complaint regarding long trips is that the driver's seat is horribly uncomfortable and I really get poor gas mileage. Until recently I haven't had any problems with the car. Lately the convertible top back near the window has been leaking and now I am dealing with wet floors. I think it is mostly due to the Florida sun drying out the top for 5 years since it was never garage kept. I get tons of compliments though!
Fun Pony to ride on
I just got this car. I was amazed by its power and handling. Burn everycar that "try" to cut me off. Beautiful exterior design. The interior isn't all that ugly, it just need some inovation and mod. Had my computer and 12 inch lcd build in my mustang. The coolest car in the parking lot. Not recommanded if you have more than 1 passenger (a dog is ok @ the rear seat) ......
I love my Mustang!
I have owned my Mustang convertible for two and a half trouble-free years. This is a well made car for its level of vehicle. I owned Cadillacs previously and while this isn't a Caddy, it is exactly what I wanted...a fun convertible with lots of power! I have found the Ford brand to be high quality and the dealership to be very good. Would highly recommend this car!
unfortunate buy
poor ergonomic design, poor comfort, below average reliability
Loved it at first...
Purchased my Mustang with less than 20 miles and enjoyed it until I hit the 40K mark. I have taken great care of my car hoping it would last a long time, but it hasn't made a difference. I have owned the car for over four years now and in the last year it has been literally falling apart. I have had problems with the brakes, the passenger door, the power side mirrors, the a/c, and the transmission. The car still turns heads as I approach but the loud engine kills the mood. I did not get my money's worth and I will not buy another Ford.

not perfect, but pretty good
I bought this car used with 3200 miles on it. Saved about $5k over a new one. The car has been ok since I've owned it, I have a couple problems with it though. First is the throwout bearing noise which Ford refuses to admit to hearing. Second is a rear chassis squeak that they of course cannot hear neither. I rarely drive the car now so these nuances are not that big of a deal. I just installed Steeda Sport Springs and I can't believe the improvement. Ford should have put these on from the start! Otherwise, I love the exhaust note and the power.
Just A Stang
I bought this car for my wife in 2000. The next day went out and put 2 stage flows on it to make it rumble. It guzzles gas, is a little sluggish on the bottom, but once it gets going it is fairly fast. My Ford F150 has more torque and is quicker off the bottom. Overall, it is fun to drive, but is very loud (ragtop)and the tranny has already gone out. Thank god it was under warranty. It has been a fun car, but it rattles a lot and feels loose with only 27,000 miles. I won't buy another one.
wonderful car
this has been a great car thus far. no problems. it is a blast to be able to drop the hammer at crusing speed when some slow putz in front of you can't seem to get out of 2nd gear on the hiway. and they know you are unimpressed with their driving when they hear the uproarious thunder of the 4.6L v-8 as you stretch the 260 horses for all they're worth. or course, with the current gas prices, and my predilection for lead-footedness, it has been an expensive love affair. i average, with my driving an hour the work on mostly hiways, 17mpg. i have squeezed 27 mpg, but i don't like squeezing.
ford junk
first ford i ever bought i bought the conv v-6 with every option ,at 27000 miles the transmisson failed, the door bolts on the hinge fell out,the valves rattaled all the time ford really let me down with the quality of this car.i will not buy a ford again
Dangerous underpowered rust bucket
The car's interior is a joke. Cheap, boring plastic. It was outdated even for 20 years ago. The V6 is severely underpowered. Good luck accelerating in 5th gear unless you've got a ton of momentum. Almost anything over an entry level 4 banger is faster. In snow, it is undriveable. In the rain, it is just plain dangerous. Hydroplanes, and cannot get traction. The car feels unsafe. At high speeds, it was bumpy, and felt loosely connected to the road. The car rusted out completely on bottom. Could pick chunks of rust off the frame. I sold it to an unsuspecting buyer, who probably will have to part it out or crush it. In the near future. AC was terrible. Tires go flat
old mans fun car
had 2 other new stangsmach tape/cd systems are very good ..2 v-8s ride is like an amish buckboard on standard factory tires. put on michelien 15s from my 95 cr vic..much better softer on bad roads. still gets the looks in red and white ragtop. good mileage on the highways..25 to 27. gt v8 could be snappier. mach cd/tape is good. love it. makes this 63 aged guy feel 40. not as fast as 5.o engines seemingly.love the feel of steering controls. wish it were only a two seater...wasted small rear seating.
Fun, Fun, Fun
If you're looking for a fun, reliable, convertible, this is the car for you. Nice solid ride with plenty of power. Not ideal for long road trips, but well worth the lack of space. I would not purchase any other convertible.

Love that Mustang
My Ford Mustang is the most enjoyable car I have ever owned and it is practical too! Reliably built, a heavy muscle car, lots of pick-up and a real head turner. Fully loaded it was a great deal and continues to hold its value. I have babied the car, in the garage all the time, washed every 2 weeks and waxed quarterly...pristine.
Nothing beats it !!!
For the price, nothing can compare. Most bang-for-the-buck. Excellent reliability. The v-6 has sufficient power, but we would all like a little more no matter what we're driving now. Gas milage is surprisingly good. Decent mobility even in the snow; mine has 4 snow tires mounted on steel rims. Overall great value for the money
I Love!!!! my 35th anniversary mustang
I own a 2000 35th anniversary special mustang GT Coupe. We purchased everything extra. This car is loaded. I love it. I have never had to have it serviced to date. I love driving it. Wouldn't change it for the world.
nice car
good performance per dollar. fun to drive and can be made faster for not a lot of money...
My opinion
This vehicle is one of the best in my book. You have fun driving it and it is safe. The engine has alot of power even though I am waiting for the 5.0 engines to come out with the new style body. You will enjoy owning one of these vehicles.
Awesome
I have read everyone's reviews about this Mustang, and I must say, I have had no problems with my car ever! Not only that but the people that I bought it from also had no problems with this car. So I'm sorry for those of you who have had bad experiences, mostly it was the fact you had a bad dealer, but the car itself is amazing; fast, quick, and very comfortable (for two people, the back seat is kinda small).
Can't beat it for the price
This is the best deal you can get for the price. I am sure that a Carrera or a is more ergonomic and makes better turns, but come on !!! I paid just $16K for mine !!! You would have to spend easily over 60K to get an european or japanese car with a similar performance. Of course they are better and have many other features, but they cost 50 THOUSAND MORE. Plus you can still beat them at the light, and they will never sound like the Mustang. A friend of mine spent almost 50k on his 4.2l Audi. It is a much better car, lots of nice features, but there is also quite a difference from 16K to 50K. (plus, I beat him BY FAR at the traffic light ;-)
Awesome, but...
I have a blue V6 automatic and am happy with its performance. The car is very reliable, it never coughs upon ignition, even in -20 C temperature. The acceleration, breaking and handling are all very good. However, I have had a number of electrical problems, (headlight, dome light) and the wipers got damaged in a heavy rain fall. The engine makes crackling/popping sounds after I turn off the car. The car makes squeaky noises when I drive at high speeds. Also, it's very hard to drive in the winter - the Mustang fishtails like crazy. I just turned 25 and will be getting married soon, and I don't think I will buy another Mustang.
My Second Mustang
This is our second mustang, our first was an 88 GT, we got 140,000 out of that car. We bought another used one. We understand this is a sports car and a fun car. This car has no utilitie to it. Its for having fun. We put the 2 stage flowmasters on it. Sounds great and works better then are old one.
2000 Mustang Coupe
A solid car. I have had zero problems. Runs strong for a V6, and I love the styling.
SWWEEEEETT CAR
this is best car u could buy for the price, especially power wise.
Pay attention
The vehicle is fun to drive and sounds great. It catches peoples attention. Gas prices have hurt the pocket book, but performance is well worth it. Leather seats are sticky in summer, 5spd shifter is located to far forward and streaches arm muscles. When heater is on, engine sounds like air- conditioner turning on and off.
AF Blue
Have had minor electrical problem with ignition (freak burn through of wire wouldn't let car start all the time). Made enough contact to start car most of time. It took 7 visits to the dealership to find and fix. We did stick with it.
best bang for the buck!
Great car, always gets the looks. extremely fun to drive.
V6 Stang - not bad at all
I own a modified Saleen Mustang as well as this stang, so the V6 is a turtle compared to the Saleen. But as a daily driver it is a fun, reasonably quick, good looking commuter that also gets pretty good mileage (averaging 25-26mpg). I have had no mechanical problems with the car in over 3 years of ownership. The one exception being a defective seat belt roller, which was replaced under warranty. All in all it is a good vehicle, probably will be traded for a 2005 stang next year.
Fun in the Sun!
I bought this vehicle used in 2003 from a private owner who stored it in the wintertime as I am now doing. It's a blast to drive especially with the top down. I'm definitely going to consider a future Mustang convertible possibly a GT for some more power.
Sweet Stang
I would suggestion this car to any teen because its thick for saftey, and quick for a V6. THe best part is that any aftermarket product or mod is availible for the Ford Mustang.
I LOVE MY GT!!!
I had a 1967 Mustang when I was 17...I had always wanted another one and 2 years ago I finally got the chance. I have a GT coupe in Amazon Green. It is a beautiful car and so much fun to drive...especially when you have these young kids in their foreign buzz bombs try to mess with ya...they might get you off the line...but with in seconds they see nothing a green blur when I pass them! I call it Mommy's Mean Green Machine! Has to be the very best car I have owned. It is a bit of a gas guzzler, but that is the price you pay for performance.
Sean's 2000 GT
Like the car, but it has the fake looking air scoops and, like another reviewers, the frame on the driver's door has waves around the windows. I probably wouldn't buy another Mustang. Ironically, had a Camaro previously and I had more compliments and looks with that car. The car has a lot of power, but you really pay for it at the gas pump. When gas hit $2.10 a gallon, I almost had to take a second job to keep the guzzler happy. Also having problems with the low coolant light; keeps coming on when the coolant reservoir is full. Wasn't too crazy about the dealer...trying to tell me what colors and options I wanted. What's with that too?
My Mustangs perfect
I love my mustang, it was cheap...for the quality of the car. It's fun to drive. But it's a teenage car. It's not too fast, and not slow enough to bore you. I think mustangs are very adorable looking and I would buy another one, but this time I would buy a Cobra.
Gets me there and back
I bought the car used with 44,000 miles. It started and ran like new. Now with 63,433 mile sit still starts on the first turn of the key and gets me where I am going with enough power to make me feel like I am getting somewhere. I have owned a car from all major American manufacturers and Ford is still King of the Road. in fact I hate to fly places anymore since I would have to drive something other than my mustang. I have taken this car on 4 major road trips in the year I have owned it. It has never failed to get me there and back again.
extremely unsatisfied
I would never buy a Ford again. I have had three and I have learned my lesson. The catalytic converter went out on my 2000 Ford Mustang and it was very expensive. Ford did not replace any parts to it and I would not recommend anybody struggling with any Ford vehicle. Prior to that I had a Taurus that the transmission went out on it. They are the worst and unreliable cars that I've had.
A Fun Toy
I've wanted a Mustang ever since I was about 12 years old...so it was a dream come true for me to finally own one. I love driving this powerhouse around. The V8 gives it all the umph it needs and the tight steering allows you handle any curve with the greatest of ease. Yeah it's a show-off car, but it's a helluva fun show-off car!
I LOVE IT!
runs nice, interior is excellent, couldn't ask for a better car
Great Car
I loved the car
This is an awesome ride!
My Mustang has made me a loyal customer to Ford. I absolutely love all that the Mustang offers in terms of performance, comfort and price, but it is so much fun to drive! It puts a little American spirit in driving and I long for the open road. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable car that is sporty and fun to drive.
close to perfect
close to perfect, nice and powerful sports car.
Affordable fun
I am so glad that I didn't get that Corvette I was considering! My Mustang is a 2000 GT 5-speed. There is so much aftermarket tuning you can do with a Mustang! One piece of advice... GET THE TAN INTERIOR... it just "feels" bigger inside.
Rob's Mustang review
I purchased this car in 2000 brand new. It had only 2.5 mi. on it when I test drove it. I have had other Mustangs in the past and this one is much better driving in inclement weather than the rest. I also believe it is the best built of all the past Mustangs. Throttle response in this one even today after 50,000 miles is incredible. Transmission is still a sure hook and the car has never let me down when it comes time to start it. I have even driven it in eight inches of snow and it got me home driving eleven miles. No problems with this car at all.
My third Mustang
I have now owned three Mustangs starting with one from back in the sixtys. Then one from the early eightys. My 2000 Mustang is a fun vehicle that is also economical to drive. I am getting 20+ MPG in in town. It has enough pep to force you back into the seat and if you get the urge to hit a widing road it gives you the feeling of a true sprots car. When I was thinking about purchasing it I was worried that it wouldn't match up to my previous Mustangs. It doesn't have the muscle from my 67' but it sure handles alot better.
my 42nd car
I have the v6 convertable with 5 speed in blue/black top/leather interior. No mechanical failures with car. No data on 5 speed aside from my own-no problems, notchy, occ missed shift. Insurence is expencive, a new Corvet would only be $7.50 more per month, an RX 8 would be $2.50 less per month. The v6 with 5 speed is about as quick as the v8 with automatic, and provides enough performance to satisfy most people who want v8 power. The convertable top is excellent- shows no wear after 4 years of taking it up and down daily in the blazing Arizona sun. To sum it up- a bargain used performance car that is dependable and fun, but expencive to insure.
Mustang Fan Forever
Most fun car I have ever owned. Looks great, runs great, gotten tons of compliments on how good it looks.
Love my Mustang
I love this car. It's been fun, reliable, and cheap. Every once and a while I go looking at new (much more expensive) cars and I end up asking myself, "why?". Only problem I've had is a vibrating clutch pedal that's been there since it was new. Every time I take it in, the mechanic either wants to replace the whole clutch (which they did once, under warranty), or he says, "they all do that". It's annoying, but I live with it. Put a set of Blizzaks on the thing and it's even great in the snow!
