Amazing Quality and Value!
Folks who purchased this car new have a right to be upset. The depreciation they saw makes ZERO sense. This is a great car. It saved my life. I bought my 2016 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium from the original owner in August 2019. It had 18k miles. I make a 165 mile roundtrip commute 2-3 times per week. At the end of 2020 the car now has done 55k miles. It is averaging 51.4 mpg lifetime. I don't plug in at work. It does 38-43 mpg on my commute. Easy to go more than 600 miles between fill ups. That's pretty good for a 14 gallon tank. The ride is q u i e t and extremely comfortable- something I knew coming from my previous 2013 Fusion Hybrid Titanium (purchased in 2017 from original owner after jaw dropping depreciation). The handling is precise. The adaptive cruise control is intuitive. The MyFord Touch interface is slow but functional. I have had no issues with interior build quality. Everything works. Nothing rattles or annoys. It drives like a dream. I got every single feature on this one. It parallel parks itself like a champ! Heated and cooled front seats are so nice. There are more thoughtful touches on this car than I can count. Little subtle interior lighting galore. Feels like I'm driving a cross between a swanky lounge and a spaceship at night. Outside temperature has a significant impact on all electric range and mileage. It loves hot weather. I can go 25+ on a hot, calm day. It hates cold weather. If I run the heater I can be done with the big battery in 10 miles. Something important to understand is that the miles remaining estimate for the battery is way more conservative than the estimate for your fuel. It is not uncommon for me to drive 15+ miles on the battery on a cold morning when the advertised range was 10 when I started. It's an estimate. Careful driving and forgoing the heater can stretch that juice a bit. This is a fantastic car for the price anyone will be asked to pay today. I understand the frustration of original owners. But depreciation sucks and sunk costs are sunk. Drive it, sell it, or roll it off a cliff. You bought it. Me? I'd keep driving it. It's a great car! Yeah, yeah, but what about the whole, "it saved my life" bit? That 165 mile commute, remember? I fell asleep at the wheel on California Highway 46 less than a mile from the corner where James Dean died. The car's automatic lane assist and the centerline rumble strip woke me up just in time to avoid colliding head on with a tractor trailer. Thanks for the help, Ford engineers! Pro tip- get a 220V charging cord. Your next car after this one will probably be all electric anyway.

I love this car and love the fuel mileage.
If you are looking for a good ride & handling and great fuel mileage buy a Ford Fusion Energi I went from $200 a month to $0 for fuel. I can pay for the car with the fuel savings. I remember 1973 when the gas companies tucked it to me,now it's my turn, what goes around comes around,I'm loving it.

Ford Fusion energi fail
Ford Fusion Energi is a complete fail! The range of the battery only is 12 miles not the 20 miles that Ford tries to tell consumers that they will get. If you run the radio or heater, the range goes down even further. My 2016 with 5200 miles is only worth $17,000 in trade at the dealership I purchased it at 6 months ago. Other auto makers have more features than the Ford. Stay away from Ford Fusion Energi! Update 7/8/2017: dealer said all systems checked out fine. So it can't be fixed. It really sucks that Ford would mislead their long-term customers. I have been a loyal customer to Ford since the 90's and have purchased a vehicle about every 2 to ensure years. will not buy a Ford ever again.

HATE LOVE RELATIONSHIP w Annoying Issues
Spouse leased a 2015 SE plug in. I really didn't like it at all. There were some irritating things about it. Naturally the trunk space is always an issue. It wasn't very comfortable getting in and out when having back issues. My Prius hybrid of 10 years got totaled and I started driving this more. I was in the drivers seat and that adjusted well so my attitude was changing. The last month of the lease was eye awakening. The new cars I was considering purchasing were the Prius Prime and the Kia Niro. I did want to upgrade to a plug in. And all of the latest safety features were a big draw. The prices even with tax incentives were high. The Prius Prime was eliminated because the passenger seat didn't go up and down to help get in and out with back issues. The Niro at least had that feature. Then I discovered that the Fusions passenger seat did adjust fully. This is necessary when you have a spouse who wants to drive when you go somewhere together. Another very important feature came into play when I was out of town and having a great shopping trip at IKEA and managed to lock everything in the trunk and car. Phone, purse, keys etc....I didn't remember the code but thankfully borrowing a passing shoppers phone got me back in with the door code. I had never used it before. What a stress saver. We still turned in the 2015, found a used 2016 with only 24,000 miles in great shape. I plug it in as much as possible and the average mileage is up to 59. It has every safety feature and accessory I could ever hope for. I hope to have this car at least as long as I had my Prius. It is nice getting back to a Ford. Update 9-2019 Owned this care for 1.5 years. Up to 41,000 miles. After going through a full hard winter the MPG down to 47 but climbing up with warmer weather to 50.5mpg. There are some annoying issues but they are the same as other "smart" cars. We frequently turn off the lane feature as it can prove distracting in construction areas where the lines are confusing. The only real disappointment thus far is the wear showing on the drivers seat. It is flaking off. A bonded leather no doubt. Brought it to the attention of Performance Ford in Omaha to contact Ford about it before the warranty was out but no go. With Performance it is no go for letting you know anything. They rarely follow up unless of course they are trying to sell you something. I really like my car and plug it in constantly. I can drive on just the battery 30-40 % of the time. currently a LOVE LOVE RELATIONSHIP 2024 70,000 miles Well the last few years have been interesting. The garage got full and the car was outside. Mice have been chewing on the wires. I hear they have soy in the coating. Isn't that special. It has cost us over $1000 to fix those issues. Of course a dealership quoted me over $2000 to replace a bunch of stuff when a non dealership found the chewed on wires for less than $300. I just have to get my garage cleaned out. I have been putting rodent deterents in the car and sometimes it works and sometimes not so much. The regular battery died a few months ago, It sat for a few months before getting it replaced. Be warned. We started driving it again and the first time I got it out on a highway all of the warnings from the year before showed up and I lost power steering and we took it in and the third time it was started after this incident they couldn't find the issue anymore. The car seemed fine and we are hoping it had something to do with the battery and the computer??? We shall see if it shows up again. Hubby is bugging me to trade but it has two dings on the body now and nothing is falling off so I am just going to keep driving it. I hear used cars are still priced higher than I want to deal with.

Energi plug-in is the way to go, to hell in 2020!
After two years I find I have been to a gas station 6 times and have used 36 gallons for the two years with average MPG at 168 MPG with my short trips and 7.1 cents cost per KW charge plugging it in to 120 Volt over night every day. I have been to Ford dealer service dept. 4 times once to fix a tire and twice for service and a yearly state inspection, I have a recall on the cars modem and my light ring a round the charging plug had a quarter of the four quarters of the ring burn out fix is under warranty, my total cost to own to date has been under $300.00 dollars and have drive it just over 7000 thousand mile to date. If I have anything bad to say it would be that I hoped it would be a hatch back for more trunk space and have a spare tire. Ford offers road side aid but I still would have liked a spare tire. My wish is that Ford would offer a Mini Van larger battery more space to haul and a spare tire, but there is not a bad thing I can say about my Ford PHEV as it does the job with both class and comfort in transporting us to and from any place we choose to go. 2016 Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid really does get 88+ MPG plus from the time I bought it May 23rd 2015 I just have over 125 miles on the odometer got every option but park assist I traded my 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid that just got 35 MPG if there is a down side they did not offer the Ice Blue color that my Milan had so I settled for White a $500+ dollar option. I also did the math and it is cheaper to charge the battery on 120 volt house current than use NRG EVGO or Blink 220 volt charging stations, they need to design a better truck space is so dear and no spare tire you get a flat you have to call and wait for a Ford tow truck. I got it at such a reduced price that I can live with that. Thanks Ford for nothing as you hang any Ford Fusion owner out to dry with telling the world you are dropping the model in 2020. Even better is the loss in value of any sucker to own a Fusion expecting it to last longer than the Pinto! I love my Ford Fusion Energi even with the two recalls, the last to fix a steering wheel bolt. I love the mileage I get 180+ MPG but now I must find a way to trade it off before the price drops and you’re not offering any replacement deals on the next PHEV you might offer. I am thinking my next PHEV will be a Chrysler Pacifica Limited PHEV at least they are offering a larger battery, and space to carry people and things. Ford you are just so sad. I would add if anyone is in the market for a Hybrid gas/electric the only company smart enough to offer mileage and interior space is Chrysler with the Mini Van Pacifica Limited Hybrid it has it all with out going all electric with its limited mileage range the Pacifica Hybrid has a 566 mile range.
