Great car!
The focus is a great car with awesome handling, great steering feedback and(with the 2.3L engine) good performance even with an auto tranny. It's quite zippy, handles very well(mine has 16" wheels from the factory) and sips gas pretty good when not being abused. Round town I get about 27mpg and on the highway, i can get up to about 32mpg.
not a fan
This car was too light, so it was bad in rain and snow.
Great Car Little Possible Improvments
I really enjoy driving my car. I dont have any options in it other then AC, CD player and cruise becaues Im 6'7 I can reach across the car easy. The only suggestion that I would have would be to maybe add a hood scoop. It is a sporty looking car and It would appeal to the teenage and younger crowd if you had a hood scoop like the mustangs, and maybe better city to highway mileage. 30 city and 35-40 highway would be able to compete better with the foreign cars in the economic standpoint.
'04 ZTW wagon
I really like this car. It is comfortable for me to drive. The one thing that I thought was pretty chintzy is the lack of cross bars on the roof luggage carrier. This makes it a totally useless piece of plastic on the roof.
04 Focus ZTW
Purchased this wagon Jan. 04. Have 2 main concerns for this vehicle. Fuel economy has been on low side, have filled up 2 times since delivery and have only averaged 24 mpg with a majority of driving done on highway around 60-65 mph. Will wait and see on this as vehicle "breaks in". The luggage rack only comes with two longitudal bars on either side of vehicle, cross bars must be purchased from Ford to complete assembly. Kind of like buying laceup shoes with laces extra. Otherwise OK.
