2004 Ford Focus ZTS 4dr Sedan (2.3L 4cyl 5M)

I have now had this ZTS 5 spd sedan since President's Day 2004 and it has 167,000 trouble free miles. The only part replaced was a passenger side engine mount and later on the pcv hose. Both repairs done by me. To top it off the car is till on it's original brake pads up front which are at 40% now. Go figure. Spotlessly clean and one of the most quick and nimble small cars I have ever driven. It loves curves while averaging 30 mpg as it is 90% freeway driven. Now at 183,000 and just fine.

This wagon holds a ton of stuff. We are using it to go camping and there's loads of room for everything and everybody. It's a zippy little vehicle and easy to park in small spaces. Surprisingly smooth ride for such a small car. It looks very sleek ,unlike some of the SUVs we considered. Fuel economy is great. Altogether a very good buy.

2004 Ford Focus SVT 2dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl 6M)

This is the car with *the full package*. Not just shoving an S/C or turbo on for bragging rights, this car runs like a tuned European car WITH [some] torque. It handles, brakes, sounds (thumping stereo!), excellent road feel, and rides comfortably. Excellent daily driver for those on the go -- hatchback capability and room is excellent. This car is for people that know how to drive and wants a relaxing, involved driving experience. Unfortunately, not everyone knows how to drive and yet utilize the full potential of their car, hence it's demise :(. Only thing to look forward is most manufacturers have taken notice and are integrating SVT DNA into their lineups for better cars.
