so i have 2012 ford f 150 with 5.0 with 280000 miles on it ,only thing i have ever changed is water pump and regular maintanance, so few years later i bought 2016 ford f150 5.0 and what a quality difference between these 2 trucks, doors wont close properly u have to really slam it, rear door on driver side wont unlock from key fob sometimes, changed starter twice, ignation gets stuck sometimes so it will need new ignation soon, changed pulleys and belts which is somewhat normal ,driver side seatbelt wont retract ,cleaned it but still have issue with it,catalytic converter is broken, heatshield welds are broken,rust undercarriage and i live in south,front shaft needs to be replaced and more and more i dont even remember at this point ,some are minor issues but just so annoying and all these happened before truck hit 90k

I bought this used F150 truck from Carmax right before Christmas last year. After owning it for three days, I began discover things that had me really concerned. I don’t fault Carmax for these flaws, but the level of my concern made me return the vehicle to them. There was surface rust on the frame, water inside the tail lights and scraping and grinding noises coming from the front brakes. All of this added up to lead me to believe that the vehicle had been in a flood. To Carmax’s credit, it took me about an hour and a half to buy the vehicle and only three minutes to return it. They handled the transaction quickly and smoothly and didn’t try to convince me otherwise. This turned out to be a great learning experience for me as I assumed that a thorough inspection would’ve been made before I made the purchase. It reinforces the old saying of “caveat emptor” (let the buyer beware). I should’ve done a more thorough inspection on my own. I’m sure that the F150 would perform quite well but I wasn’t willing to take the chance that there was hidden damage that would surface later on down the road. The final chapter of the story – I ended up buying a new Ram Limited and have fallen completely in love with the truck. The technology, the quality, the attention to detail and the overall thoughtfulness of this truck have become quite apparent to me. Ram has really stepped up its game and is capturing a large segment of the truck market. I am convinced that all three major truck manufacturers build excellent vehicles and the purchase of any one of them will prove to be a good one.

I have notice that bumper is bent and the collision sensor is not working. There was an accident mention on the CARFAX but the dealer said it was minor, the jury is still out on that. Thank you Lance
