Used 2022 Ford Explorer Consumer Reviews
Beat one yet
This is my 3rd Explorer and by far the best and most comfortable yet. So many great features and so comfortable. Starting my car from an app on my phone is a game changer. Love the little extra space under the floor in the back and the seats are much easier to put up and down in the 3rd row. CarPlay makes travel so easy. I just love this car!

Good power, safety features, brakes
The explorer has strong and responsive brakes and it’s a good thing, especially with the nimble turbo four-cylinder having surprising power. The transmission shifts through its 10 gears smoothly and the ride is typical for a Ford with off-road capability. I have the towing package and it pulls a small trailer easily. Actual mileage experienced driving mostly in the mountains for 3000 miles is around 22 mpg. It’s not particularly showy, but it’s a very practical vehicle that operates as expected. The adaptive cruise is nice. The driver safety features seem to function well And have already applied the brakes for me when I failed to spot someone pulling out behind me. Ample room for the family. I hope it’s as dependable as my previous Fords. Would like to see a larger screen for the camera.

More for your money!
300 hp, 310lb ft of torque turbo 4 with 10 speed automatic and rear wheel drive! Plenty of room on a 119 inch wheelbase and a smooth comfortable ride.

Great vehicle
This is for the ST Line Explorer. Only one Con, the touchscreen is WAY too small, making the backup camera WAY too small. I had a 2023 F-150 for a loaner. The screen was HUGE and very easy to see.

Rotary Dial for Transmission is not good
I have driven our Ford Explorer ST Line 2022 SUV for around 3 weeks now and really like everything about the vehicle except for one issue. The dial used for changing gears from forward to reverse, I find quite problematic. There is a lag of around 1-2 seconds before the reverse will engage. I have asked the dealership about this and they say that all dial transmissions are like this. It is quite problematic if we want to change into reverse when making a three point turn, parking or have gone too far forward and need to reverse a little. The lag time causes a bit of unnecessary risk in driving the vehicle in the event you have to move quickly. I would not buy this vehicle again as I find this aspect a big deterrent.
