Used 2018 Ford Escape Consumer Reviews
Surprising value, great retirement vehicle!
I have not owned a Ford for more years than I care to admit. But after doing research for the last 6 months and looking at Nissan Rogue, Murano, Toyota Rav 4, Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain, Honda CRV, I just kept coming back to the Escape. I was looking for a retirement vehicle and really want a SUV that my wife and I would be comfortable traveling in. After ruling out the other makes and models for various reasons stopped in local Ford dealership to test drive Escapes. Test drove 2019 SEL and Titanium. The SEL did not have the acceleration I wanted for traveling. The dealer had a year end close out on a 2018 Titanium 4WD so test drove it and was pleased with the power from the 2.0 turbo. And since we are going to be traveling the 4WD seemed like a sensible choice for all types of weather conditions. We had the salesman work up numbers for the 2018 and with getting numerous close out discounts we decided that we would take it over a 2019. Very happy with our decision. Nice vehicle, fun to drive with most all the bells and whistles we were looking for in a retirement vehicle. Treating ourselves to the upgraded Titanium at a great price will make retirement that much more comfortable and enjoyable. Update: Have owned the vehicle for a year now and very happy with it. Plenty of power and the reliability of the 4 wheel drive for daily driving in any weather condition. Very comfortable in town or on the highway. Very satisfied with my 2018 Ford Escape Titanium.

Luxury and utility = Nice little SUV
This is just a sweet little SUV, and I got the top of the line Titanium. It was a dealer loaner with 3,500 miles on the odometer so I got $8,000 off. The technology is amazing. The people who bought the S model...my dealer only had SE...S is for rental fleets...and complain...C'mon....it's like ordering a Big Mac and complaining because it's not filet mignon. I had a previous Escape FWD SE and it was fine. I have never had a top of the line anything, but am extremely pleased.

Perfect Realtor's Car
I became a Realtor two years ago, and at the time, was driving a 2011 2-door Jeep Wrangler in manual transmission. Obviously not a Realtor's car. I looked at a Grand Cherokee because I wanted to drive an automatic, something luxurious for clients that I'd show homes to and with space for my signs. To get one of those with the features I wanted, like a power liftgate, moonroof, and leather seating, I'd have to fork out close to 40k. Instead, I looked at a Ford Escape after having rented one on an L.A. trip last summer and being impressed. I test drove them and felt like the S and SE weren't for me. The Titanium was in the mid to high 30's, so that was a no-go. Then I found the unicorn at a dealer near me in Redwood City. It was the SEL in AWD, Ingot Silver, with the sport package which included black 19 inch rims and lighting/grill effects, and including the panoramic sunroof. I didn't expect to want silver but I just fell in love with this model and knew it was for me. The medium-light stone leather seating (active x, stainproof!) was something I had never had before as I had always had black cars with black interiors. The SEL offered me a much bigger display screen with the Sync 3, which was similar to the Grand Cherokee's screen size, whereas with the S and SE I felt it was too small and deep into the dashboard. I am thrilled each time I drive it because it's features are incredibly intelligent. The LED highbeams turn on automatically in extra dark conditions, the collision warning literally saved my life when driving on the freeway as it noticed a bumper in the road I never would have seen without the early 3 second in advance warning. The adaptive cruise control is perfect for long drives and doesn't have me worrying about the car in front of me slowing down, and the blind spot warning as well as the changing tones when backing out of parking spots warning me from either sides if cars are coming makes tight dangerous quarters much much safer. The driving around town is incredibly fun because of its nimble, peppy, racey feel. On the freeway you won't be the fastest car in the left lane, but you certainly will be comfortable, content, and satisfied, listening to your favorite podcasts or music on the Sync 3. Before this Escape, I always wanted cars that everyone loved, that I thought others would be impressed by. In the case of my 2018 Ford Escape, I went with the smart choice, and it turns out I'm getting more compliments then the Wrangler and Audi I had before. 5 stars, easily.

Sits high for good visibility. Great handling -acceleration, traction. Gas consumption is what it is. Best pick compared to all of it’s competitors we checked out. Very happy with my 2018 Titanium

Fresh!
After 12000 miles of easy living, the engine block for my 1.5 liter EcoBoost is being replaced under warranty. Wow. I've driven various Fords since 1995 without any serious problems, owning one for 11 years. The company's reliability has fallen apart. Now the dealer will try to rebuild the engine around the new block? That's complicated for a local guy. What are the chances this if going to work out well. Very, very disappointed. Years to go on the loan. At least the power train warranty is long. Ford ended up buying back my Escape for full price less depreciation until the engine blew itself up. The transmission kept breaking after the remind was replaced. Very disappointing, but kudos to Ford got doing the right thing under the law without jerking me around.
