Used 2018 Ford Escape Consumer Reviews
Was good until
I got mine at 44k miles, it did well for a little while u till at 62000 miles I got a code for spark plugs and ignition coil. My brakes went from great to not pads, very poor gas mileage right as gas is over $6 a gallon. Constant repairs, bleeding money left and right. It goes with a 5 year or 60k miles warranty that. However, even with fault codes the main issue I have is the coolant leaking into the cylinders and causing misfire’s. $6900 for new engine. You have been warned, I also am a mechanic and we constantly have this issue more than needing to replace fuel filters on them. Had less than a year and 2 months, always on time for oil changes and regular maintenance.

Costly Repairs!
I loved my Escape until 2 weeks ago I had to replace the turbo because oil sludge had ruined it. I got my oil changed consistently when the oil life monitor told me to. Drove it four days and the check engine light came on. Turns out coolant has been leaking into the engine and Ford has known about this problem since 2010. If you have an Escape get it checked out, if you are thinking of buying one: DON’T!

My Escape
I've own m 2018 Escape for a year now and have been pleasantly surprised overall by the vehicle. While shopping for newer vehicle l took my time and searched multiple brands, both foreign and domestic. Let's face it, there is no Valhalla vehicle out there. Some has this thing you want while the next brand had this. The reviews played a role in my decision. When came down to my final decision my deal was made me pull the trigger. My Escape is the SE trim FWD version. I was looking for a suv to transport the dogs about and pull a lite trailer. So that gave me the room l needed and the trailer tow capacity l wanted. My real concern was how it would do in snow. Wisconsin winters can be brutal on any vehicle. Most of the comments l read on that said they had no issues to speak of. And so far it holds true. I have new superior snow capable tires and it's done well. The ride has been nicer then l expected. The cabin is comfortable and quiet and has almost all the options l wanted. If there was a knock on the Escape that bothered people was acceleration. People complained it was sluggish. My previous vehicle was a Ford Ranger 4X2 4 cyl. Supercab. The acceleration on that was so bad it couldn't even get out of its own way. I use to jump out of the truck and run along side it to cheer it on while trying to merge on the highway. The Escape has very nice pick up. Is it going to win a 0 to 60 contest, no, but that's not what it is meant to do. It has enough pop to move around in traffic and the ability to help you clear trouble spots. So all in all l got my money's worth so far.

We like it
Good compromise vehicle. Decent handling, ride, and mileage. Has been reliable and trouble free so far. Four years later it is still doing the job. Only things replaced are the tires and battery
