This car fits my family perfectly. After having 3 straight F150’s it was time to downsize. This car hit all the elements that we wanted. I know people say it’s underpowered but if I want speed I’ll drive the Mustang. It runs great, rides well and is fairly quiet Got a great deal also. Maybe it’s not the perfect car, but it is for us. UPDATE: This car has continued to be a good fit for my family. Reliability has been excellent. We are more than satisfied. 09/23 My Escape is still going strong. It now has 61k miles on it. We put new brakes, battery and ties on it in the past 18 months. It still runs great. I’ve been especially pleased with the paint finish. We plan on keeping it until 2026.

I did not want a big computer on my dashboard nor a pushbutton start. I really like that Ford provides options for various consumer preferences instead of leacing us with no choices like Subaru or Jeep. I really like this car. Only thing, I was left stranded on the highway in the desert after it broke down at 36k miles. After days of attempted diagnosis and repeated problems, turns out it was A LOOSE WIRE attaching to the computer...

So Many Dealer Visits

Have had the 1.5 SE Escape since May 2018. In that time it’s been to three different dealers for different issues. Three visits for losing coolant, two visits for my radio not working and two visits for my hvac changing temperature and modes on its own. I have called ford corporate so many times and have gotten some money back for my troubles but it isn’t worth it. The mpg is poor and I can barely break 23 in mixed driving. My auto start stop whirs sometimes. Would never recommend a Ford to anyone.
