2016 Bad Transmission

Purchased the 2016 Escape new in April 2016 and was very happy with it. Driven it cross country a couple times and didn't expect to have any issues... I expected this to be my last vehicle for yrs to come. Had family issues and made several trips from Indiana to North Carolina and it racked up the miles over a couple of yrs. But made sure to have oil changed and it serviced every 5k miles as dealership suggested. Took it to same dealership where it was purchased for service every time (except 2 when in North Carolina and couldn't get it there at time). I started having trouble with it loosing power, going from a stop position, when gas gage read 100 miles or less to empty and thought maybe water in gas as we had lots of rain in area... When I'd fill the gas tank vehicle seemed to run great... Then all of a sudden it had the same issue all the time... It just went on for 2 days when I took it to a local transmission shop... It probably wouldn't have made it to a dealership 40 miles away. According to the diagnostic test it was the A cylenoid in the transmission. That was replaced and still same issue. Was told by a dealership that the 2016 should have been recalled for transmission because there have been lots of problems. Jasper Engine and Transmission will not even touch these transmissions to rebuild them because of the problems, along with many other transmission rebuilding companies. I have now spoken with Ford and personally in my opinion they better fix this issue. I will be paying for a lawyer before I pay to replace something they already know is an issue. There are problems reported on the internet and upon speaking to Ford Consumer Support there are known problems as well with this vehicle. This is what the internet says when you type in "Problems With 2016 Ford Escape" Shockingly, Ford never recalled the transmission. The 2016 model has been reported to have a shudder that rattles and shakes the vehicle whenever it goes from reverse to drive. Owners of the 2016 4 door SUV model have reported that the vehicle shifts gears rather slowly in the cold weather.

I never thought I would ever buy a FORD. I've owned MANY different makes and models, but by far the FORD ESCAPE is my favorite car!!!

This is the 2016 SE model with 2.5 liter engine. It is a solid SUV. Almost no road noise. Gas mileage is better than the rated figure. Instrumentation is clear and easy to use. It has a smooth ride in city or on highway. The rear seat cushion is a little stiff, but we never use it for passengers. We are very satisfied.

This vehicle is provided to me by my employer. They were robbed! How do I despise thee?? Let me count the ways: 1. You can NOT put the vehicle in 4wd when you think it is necessary. Only the car can make that decision. 2. Radio is a joke. Frequently have to turn it off and back on the be able the switch stations. Programing the radio isn't easy or logical. 3. The backup camera is inset so far it makes it difficult to see and if the sun is out at all the reflections and glare make it useless. 4. Caller ID on screen seldom works. You will get the phone number but not the callers name. I could go on, but what's the point. Ford likes to make vehicles look good but doesn't care if anything actually works.

I purchased a 2016 Ford Escape SE AWD. I love the color the way it drives, interior is so nice. The overall Vehicle is AWESOME. I cannot say enough about how wonderful it is. Love the style and feel of this beauty. I would suggest anyone to own one.
