Used 2014 Ford Escape Titanium 4dr SUV AWD (1.6L 4cyl Turbo 6A) Consumer Reviews
2014 Ford Escape Titanium
I have only had this car for 1 week. So far, I'm loving it. I bought my car at Sarasota Ford. Steve Oliver was the Sales Associate. He was great in every way. Help me make a decision between two cars. Was happy for his assistance.

Car (& driver :-)) aged OK
105K highway/local driving in mt. West. Overall satisfied. Car's aged OK, BUT $3k extended warranty pd for itself TWICE. "Build quality" NOT great, especially engine/drivetrain electronics. 2.0L Turbo performance is OUTSTANDING, best Class, no question. For all their "fixes," Ford Sync still has problems, especially Sync "auto" (HAH!) updates, + having to pay Ford's 3rd party vendor $150/yr(!) for Nav. map updates is ridiculous, especially in age of Google Map! ALSO: Even though rated to pull 3500#, DON'T; & not more than maybe 2500# on long uphill grades. Best in class HP/Torque, BUT digital-only Eng. Temp gauge measuring eng. "Head" -- NOT, coolant -- temp, AND NOT gradually is idiotic & potentially dangerous! NO way to keep accurate eye on coolant temp until gauge JUMPS fm Normal to Hot, WITH computer rolling back RPM & "Overheat" warning to prevent eng. damage Alarm. NOT OK, especially when lower RPM drastically slows vehicle -- AND, of course, all following traffic -- on long &/or steep uphills w/ no passing lane! :( Overall a good, long-term buy, BUT DON'T go beyond factory "bumper-bumper" Warranty w/o extending it! And/or go only for "Certified Pre-Owned (CPO)" used.

Happy with the purchase
Just bought a 2014 Ford Escape Titanium equipped with the 2.0 liter turbocharged engine new off the lot. I'm very happy with the purchase. I live & work in the hilly suburbs of Pittsburgh, and the 2.0 liter engine has plenty of power and it still handles like a smaller car. I had concerns about the SYNC feature but I'm happy to report that it is not broken like non-Ford salesmen claim. The negative reviews about "functional storage" on the redesigned Escapes are true, though. The glove compartment is small, hard to reach (for the driver), and nearly useless and there is very little in the ways of storage for odds and ends. Trunk space is smaller but opens up with the back seats down.
Nice car if it fits!
I bought this car to replace my VW Jetta Wagon (TDI) which VW bought back from me. I was looking for a comparable vechicle in volume capacity, power and manueverability in the snow. I've never owned a Ford and was pleasantly surprised by my Escape's "giddy-up", due to choosing the 2.0L turbo engine over the 1.6L. Big difference. Overall I liked driving my Ford, except that it never quite fit me. That is, I'm well proportioned for my height (5'7", 155lbs), but I could never get my hands and arms comfortable on the steering wheel. No matter what adjustments I made to the steering column and/or the seat, my forearms and wrists would fatigue. I've never driven a car/SUV where that's happened. I was also disappointed with the gas mileage; low 20s even for mostly highway driving. The infotainment sysytem was ok once you got the hang of it. Excellent bluetooth reception for phone calls and good sound quality when listening to music. Overall a solid car.
